Bobbi Brown Natural Finish Long Lasting Foundation SPF15 PA++

I believe I’m not the only one out there who’s looking for the perfect foundation. Who doesn’t want a natural looking flawless complexion? Those who are born with it, hush. Don’t rub it in 😉

For me, there’s always the temptation to try different brands and strike out those that didn’t pass the test. For foundations, it’s important to remember that it is very personal as every person has different concerns. I’m in my early 30s, have sensitive combination skin with some freckles, occasional breakouts, fine lines around my eyes and dark circles.

I bought this foundation a year ago. It comes in a glass bottle with a pump dispenser.

Excerpt from bobbibrown.com:

Oil-free, all-day wear so you’ll have soft-matte, even-looking skin without having to pile on powder throughout the day, this is Bobbi’s soft-matte “sequel” to our (now discontinued) Oil-Free Finish Foundation. Sponge-like powders absorb excess oil on the surface of the skin, while emollients lock in moisture to ensure skin remains perfectly balanced. Transfer-resistant formula helps create a barrier against heat and humidity for 8 hours of wear so makeup stays in place. Perfect for oily and normal/combination skin.

This is the amount of foundation you get from 1 squirt which is just the right amount for me to cover my whole face.

The texture of the foundation is light. This is shade 02 (Sand). Even though it claims to dry matte, I find I still reach for the powder. It somehow feels complete. Habits die hard. I find it does keep skin moisturised and glowy so it’s good for combination skin. If you have very oily skin, I’d probably recommend powder foundations. Lots of good powdered mineral foundations around… which reminds me, I’ll do one on bareMinerals SPF15 foundation and its Mineral Veil soon!

Below is a photo taken just to compare the before and after. I’ve applied this foundation using the beauty blender, and set it with Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil. I didn’t apply any concealers so that you get a better picture of the coverage (light to medium). I find that if I layered it on, my skin gets oily much faster. Not to mention my face feeling claustrophobic, having too much painted on. So, I prefer a sheerer application.
Do you see some spots are less noticeable? May I repeat myself that I did not put on any concealers in the after photo. No hanky panky photoshop either.
I do not have the habit of ‘powdering my nose’ at work or after lunch time. I just blot my face to stop the evil disco ball from forming. Safe to say, yes, the foundation lasts at least 8 hours on my skin… unless I’m running around sweating like a pig. LOL!
Verdict? Yes, I like this, and because I was planning on writing this post, I’ve been using it religiously for the past 2 weeks… but I sorely miss my Lancome Maqui Blanc Miracle foundation!
