This is the second Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Lips & Cheeks featured here. The colour is Pale Pink. Pale Pink is a bright pastel pink with cool undertones. Initially, I was hesitant about getting this blush because I have warm skintone and anything too cool makes me look a little off. The beauty consultant at Bobbi Brown assured me that this goes well with all skin tones, and look especially good on fair to medium skin tones. She was right.
Like all other BB’s pot rouge, the texture is smooth and creamy. Some might be apprehensive about really creamy blushes because they might have problems staying on your face… especially those with oily skin. Thing is, the pot rouge has a sheer, stained finish. On my cheeks, it lasts at least 8 hours.
I usually put on the pot rouge after my foundation, before setting with powder. To apply, I like to pat it on my cheeks using my middle and ring fingers, starting from the apple of my cheeks, patting towards my hairline. I do not blend in swiping motion because that will just mess up my foundation.
Here is a swatch of Pale Pink: heavily swatched on the left, blended on the right. This is a beautiful colour of soft cotton candy pink, and it brings a youthful flush to your cheeks. It’s very flattering.
Here is the colour on my cheeks and lips. I applied the pot rouge to my lips using a lip brush. It goes on smooth and creamy, and the colour stays for about 3 hours on me. I don’t usually wear BB’s pot rouge on my lips, but I thought it would be fun to do an illustration of it, since it does say it’s for cheeks and lips. I’m thinking some colours I have (which will be featured soon) are gonna look a little weird on my lips…
Photos are taken in natural light, and to avoid all those background noise in the photos, I actually took the photos with the curtain behind me. LOL! I also applied the cheek colour a little brighter for you to have a better look.
Here are the products I used for the rest of my face:
Primers: MUFE HD Primer, UD Primer Potion in Eden on my lids
Face: MUFE Mat Velvet +
Concealer: Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage
Eyes: UD 15 Anniversary Palette, MAC Kohl Pencil in Smoulder for liner
Mascara: Dior Extase
Brows: Empro brow pencil Golden Brown
Do you like this pink? Not bright enough? I will have a fuschia coming up soon!! LOL!
