Go high definition with Make Up Forever

I got lots of goodies from Sephora lately and the first thing I’d like to talk about is the Make Up Forever High Definition (HD) primer and foundation.

I finally jumped on the band wagon and tried out some HD stuff. I do not need the soft focus effect of HD foundations because I hardly take pictures, unless it’s for you pretties. If you’re following me on Facebook, you should know I was at Sephora a couple of weeks back. I was looking for a face primer and the lady was nice enough to show me their Make Up Forever High Definition Microperfecting Primer. Yes. That was the end of me. Of course, she wouldn’t have let me walk away without showing me their HD Invisible Cover Foundation either. Hhmmm…
Sephora, you trained your staff well. They make money for you. Not so wallet friendly for us 😉

The primer and the foundation worked so terribly well together, it was just horrible. It made me look so camera friendly that I had to force myself to take more photos, smile and pose for the camera. No, I would never want to be the centre of attention. *chuckles*

The primer of mine is in shade 02, which is a soft purple colour that counteracts sallow undertones. It does brighten and lift my face almost immediately. The texture of it felt like a light moisturiser. There was also a pleasant scent to the primer, but that’s just my nose. Yours may differ 😉 The oil free primer comes in 6 colour correcting shades, promises to soften and moisturise the skin and I can attest to that. My first test for the primer and foundation won me over.

I applied the primer and foundation at 8am, boarded the plane at 12pm, reached another country and had dinner with friends, and still looked presentable!! No dullness, no flaking, no melting, no caking, I was totally amazed. Hats off!

Taken in the car (DUH!) when the sun was HOT! No shine whatsoever. Photo not processed in any way other than the watermark.
Close up for your viewing pleasure. No concealers, no photo editing. Nice!

Blush: MAC Mineralised Blush Warmth of Coral
Eyes: MAC False Lashes Mascara, black gel liner
Brows: Empro triangular brow pencil in 03 Golden Brown

My foundation shade is 117 Marble – it matches my face like second skin. Did I say time and again my favourite foundation was Lancome’s Maqui Blanc Miracle? Well, strong competition here. It’s very smooth, lightweight, provides medium to full coverage, and I’m leaning toward this new one now. How loyal am I, eh? But I swear it’s not me… it’s my face. LOL!!

You girls should either go to MUFE counters or Sephora** to try these babies out. I’m very happy with my purchase =)

Oh gosh! I'm so tempted to go have a look at these!
They didnt break you out or anything did they?
Oh and 1 last question, do you mind letting me know how much the primer and foundation costs from sephora kl?

  • Chloe.Ash

Hi Carmen, nope, didn't break me out at all. Just make sure you remove the make up thoroughly! If I'm not mistaken, they cost about RM150 each. If you try it, let me know how it works out for you!!

    Hey Lily,

Just wonder what Dior shade are you wearing? I also use Diorskin as my daily foundation but I’ve been eyeing the MUFE HD line for a while now too. I don’t have a Sephora near me and can’t get color matched but if we wear the same Dior color I can have a good idea as to which color in MUFE to order.

    Thank!!

Hi Pamela, Dior’s shade 011 matches my skin perfectly but not all Dior’s foundations have this shade. 021 is slightly darker, but suits my yellow undertones.
