Roses to calm, sooth and hydrate: LANEIGE Makeup Mist

From my K-drama addition lately, I noticed the ladies ooh and aah about skin care, and face mist is one of them. A young lady and her potential mother-in-law actually bonded over the same face mist they were using. LOL! I keep a bottle of Avene’s Thermal Spring Water handy, but that’s also good for baby’s bottom. Here, I have Laneige Makeup Mist, rose scented.
One of the major ingredients in this mist is Himalayan glacial water. Also known as the “Water of Life”, this H20 originates from the valleys of high mountain ranges in Himalaya. It is supposed to provide freshness and moisture while speeding up skin metabolism through purifying impurities and softening rough skin damaged by UV rays, pollution and stress. I am not familiar with this brand since this face mist is my first Laneige purchase, but I noticed this is also one of the common ingredients used in many of Laneige’s products.
Living in a tropical country that is hot and humid all year round, I believe keeping skin calm and cool is important. My face gets red and flushed when I’m hot, and spraying face mist helps cool it down. I enjoy the subtle rose scent that is pleasant and relaxing. Good for a stressful day. There are 2 other scents to choose from: Fresh bergamot and pure orchid.
This face mist can be used before makeup to hydrate the skin, or after to set the makeup. I prefer my MAC Fix+ for this purpose and I use this Laneige one purely to soothe my skin. The bottle is slim so I can just throw it in my bag and whip it out whenever I want to use it.
Ingredients: Water, Butylene Glycol, Water (Himalaya Snow Water), PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Methylparaben, Chlorphenesin, Propylparaben, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance, 1,2-Hexanediol
Is this a must have? No. I can definitely do without it. This was an impulse purchase that I do not regret. I still like to smell the roses! I just wouldn’t strongly recommend this to anyone. However, if you have RM55 to spare, and you don’t know what you want to try, this might be fun!
Have you bought something you have absolutely no NEED of just for the sake of trying? Sigh, I am so guilty of this, more than I’d like to admit. I should be guillotined for it. Off with her head!!!
