My new cleansers: Origins Checks & Balances and Origins A Perfect World

I have never been fussy about cleansers as long as they are not too drying on my skin. I can feel it immediately if the cleanser is too harsh. Once I dried my face after the cleanser, there will be a tight pulling feeling that is uncomfortable. I stay away from those cleansers.

I chose 2 different cleansers to use for day and night. In the morning, I clean with Checks & Balances because that controls oil, and at night, I use A Perfect World which is has antioxidants. I find that this combination has been working really well for my combi oily skin.

Origins Checks & Balances

When it comes to faces with dry and oily places, it takes a clever cleanser to balance the two. This gentle, frothy face wash carefully does both jobs without canceling each other out. Broad Leaf Kelp Extract discourages excess oil production, while Wheat Protein balances and protects dry prone zones. And Tourmaline actually makes water wetter to more easily disperse dirt and sebum down the drain. There’s also aromatic Bergamot, Spearmint and Lavender to add pleasure to the process. Skin feels comfortably refreshed after cleansing, never tight, pulled or parched. Best for all skin types

The first time I squeezed this onto my palm, I thought it looked like toothpaste. Yes, that is the texture. Its foam is thick and it takes all the unwanted grease off your face. My skin was dry at one point, and I feared this would dry out my face. Not only it did not do that, it actually kept the drier parts on my face moisturised.

Origins A Perfect World

This perfect foaming-face wash is formulated with nature’s rare Silver Tipped White Tea. In a pre-emptive sweep, dirt-grabbing minerals combined with the gentle, skin-compatible cleansing action of Palm, Coconut and Oat Amino Acid reach deep to help detoxify and free skin of harmful, free radical-releasing impurities before they settle down and cause skin-aging oxidation, deterioration, dehydration and even some forms of irritation. Skin is perfectly clean, smoothed and refreshed. Dermatologist & Ophthalmologist Tested. Best for age fighting protection. For combination/dry skin.

This cleanser is smoother and the foam is finer. I find it a little difficult to describe, but the foam is lighter and the cleanser feels creamier on my skin. My skin is left feeling moisturised and skin appears softer somehow. I like the refreshing citrusy scent of this cleanser which makes my night time cleansing routine a more enjoyable one.

I have been using this combination for a month now, and my skin is reacting quite well to it. I take off my makeup using my Clinique Take The Day Off Balm, followed by a milk cleanser (if I applied heavy makeup) and then A Perfect World completes the cleansing routine. Yes, I always double cleanse because I use liquid foundation, and when I put on heavy makeup, I triple cleanse. The cleansers I use are never harsh or it will strip all natural moisture off the face.

I have never been loyal to a cleanser before because I usually like to try different ones. I thought this new routine would be a good change, because the less parabens in my daily skin care, the better. I’m not too fussy over cleansers but I consider this a luxury in a way because these cleansers are not cheap. I bought A Perfect World for RM110 and Checks & Balances from strawberryNet for about USD20, I think. I can’t remember the exact amount. I usually use cleansers that come free with purchase, or from point redemption. Haha!

What cleansers do you use? Do you stick to one that works or do you prefer to experiment? Do you have issues having parabens in your skincare?
