Subtle Gold and Burgundy Eyes with The Balm Nude’Tude

The last few days have been a little crazy, so I didn’t have much time to do a proper write up. So, I’m gonna present you a look I did with The Balm’s palette called Nude’tude. The name would make you imagine it is another Naked palette, but it is definitely not. I might do a detailed review on this palette, when I have the time. But for now, if you want the swatches, you can go to Christine’s blog, the ever famous Temptalia.

Now, let’s get started.

Base: MAC Paint Pot Indianwood (bronze brown) to warm up the eyes
Lid: Snobby – Gold shimmered yellow (it will look darker due to the bronze base)
Outer corner: Sexy – Burgundy (reddish brown, but red will be toned down due to the bronze base. Too much red makes my eyes look sick and tired)
** If you prefer something more gold and burgundy, you can use a neutral or a white base.

Lower lash line: Schitzo – Warm bronze brown and Snobby
Brow bone: Sassy – Frosted white (just a tad bit to avoid it being too shimmery)
Eye liner: MAC kohl pencil Smoulder (tightlined)
Mascara: Lancome Hypnose precious cells
Brows: Suqqu brow pen Brown

To complete the look:

Face: Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation #51 Light Vanilla (thanks Sukie, for being so generous to give me a sample! You can read her review of this foundation here)
Powder: Guerlain Meteorites Teint Rose #01
Cheeks: NARS Deep Throat, NARS Laguna to gently contour
Lips: Dior Rouge Tulip Pink, Dior Rouge Or Etoile (gold) at the centre of lips as highlight

Gold and Burgundy are complementary colours and I used the bronze as a base and at the lower lash line to warm up the look more. As you can see, the colours are toned down – not too bright or dramatic, which is daytime friendly and office appropriate. I kept the rest of the face cooler to avoid looking orange, hence the pink blush and pink lips.

I hope you liked this look. Do let me know if you want more day time looks, or if you want something much brighter and edgier. I don’t wear trendy / edgy looks often, or rather … not at all, so it will be a challenge, but I will try to oblige.
