FOTD: Jekyll & Hyde with Dior Bleu de Paris 254

No, it’s not Halloween. It was an afternoon when my hubby came home, asking me to model so he could test out his latest version of his DIY beauty dish. So, I went to put my makeup on and whack! I somehow (can’t remember how, exactly) messed up my black liner. Instead of removing and reapplying, I just played with it. You will see the left of my face sporting a more subdued look and the right will be an edgier look.

Here goes…

Both eyes are done using Dior Bleu De Paris (254) palette. This is the more subdued look which is definitely work appropriate. This look is Dr Jekyll. Blush is applied higher on the apple of the cheeks using a light pink blush (MAC Well Dressed). I’m sure you noticed the extra long lashes peeking out my right eye. Well, that’s another look. For Dr Jekyll, no false lashes are used. I don’t usually wear them. I think I can recall exactly when I ever wore false lashes. 5 times in my lifetime. Today is 5 1/2 times. That’s how little I wear them.

This is the other look I call Mdm Hyde, where the eyeliner is played up. Lashes used are by MAC and blush used is MAC Harmony. It is a darker brownish red shade and for more drama, I applied it at the hollow of my cheeks, blending upwards. I highlighted the top of my cheeks using Guerlain Cruel Gardenia. How fierce do I look? Rawr!!

The products I used for the rest of my face are:

Estee Lauder Double Wear Light foundation, MAC Studio Finish Concealer, No7 lip liner in Nude, Shiseido clear gloss, Diorskin Nude Natural Glow powder, black pencil liner, black liquid liner.

There’s gonna be a wordy post next so I’ll keep this to a minimum. If you want a step-by-step of how I did these 2 looks, please let me know. Also, please let me know which one you want a breakdown of – Jekyll or Hyde. It’s the first time I used lashes in my FOTD and it is also the first time I did a Jekyll. It was quite fun, especially running back to my room when my in-laws were coming home. Imagine seeing me full faced! LOL! I hope you liked this šŸ™‚

YOU ROCK GIRL! ^.^ I love the Mr Hyde look, naturally!

So nice of you to help your husband too! But I guess you get pictures for your blog as well!

    • Lily

Thanks sweetie. I apparently mixed up Jekyll and Hyde. Duly amended šŸ˜‰
Yes, I helped him with hidden intentions. Well, not exactly hidden, because I told him to take better photos so I could put it on my blog. LOL!

  • Sunny @ Mostly Sunny

Why, of course I love Mr Hyde! The liner is FIERCE!

I’ve attempted a double liner at home, but for some reason I think it looks a bit weird on me. Maybe I’m just not used to it. Would love to see how you achieved the look!

    • Lily

Thanks Sunny =) It was tricky. For it to look so black, I had to use pencil liners, powders to set then go over it with liquid liner again. LOL! I’ll be sure to post the details when I’ve got more time!

  • lyn

Oooh, very nice indeed! I love that double eyeliner look, I would have failed miserably if I attempted anything like that.

Hope you don’t me adding my two cents about the DIY beauty dish. It’s a success in terms of lighting but could do with some slight diffusing to soften the glare. But kudos to your hubs for doing something so clever! Mine is no Mr. DIY for sure šŸ˜‰

    • Lily

Wow! What an accurate observation! His beauty dish was missing the diffuser, yes. He has yet to put ‘install’ it on his dish. He’s interested in photography, and so I’m a happy guinea pig. LOL! Maybe I should ask him to be a guest writer. Topic: DIY Beauty Dish. Hahaha!

  • Could you kindly do a step-by-step post on how to achieve the two looks for noobs like me? Pretty please?? =D I love the Dr Jekyll look but Hyde scares me a little.. :s

    • Lily

You’re too cute Sukie! Yeah, Hyde was fierce borderline scary, but that’s the whole point, right? From the requests, I think I’ll have to do a how-to post for both looks then.
