Sunday Sharing: My Go To Products in July

I haven’t done any favourites posts before. I remember some readers giving me feedbacks saying they want to read some of my faves or picks, so here it is. I’ve been reaching for them nearly every time I put on makeup because they are just so easy to use. Ready? Here are my Top 5 makeup products for the month of July.

This month has been a terribly hot month, so I find I reach a lot for my Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation. It is so lightweight that I can’t feel it on my skin. I also use powder sometimes (I used it a lot in June) but powder foundations don’t last long at all. Do click on the link here for a detailed review.

I am a person who believes that brows are very important to frame the face. I am not blessed with full brows, so I need help. I use all sorts of different brow pencils, and for this month, I’ve been using lots of Shiseido Maquillage brow pencil. If you want to know how I fill in my brows, click here.

Ever since I bought this Clarins blush, I haven’t been able to stop using it! I have to put this aside soon because I won’t be able to re-stock this limited edition item should I empty this tube! Gah… the pains of LE stuff.

Mascara wise, I’ve been using lots of Dior New Look because my lashes seem to love it. Expensive, yes, so this is a splurge. I don’t have a separate review for this mascara, but I did a brief one hidden in my FOTD post. Sneaky eh?

Lastly, for lips. I’ve been keeping my daytime makeup very minimalistic so I went with my-lips-but-better Tulip Pink. I believe many of you thought it was a lovely colour too! Remember? Here’s to refresh your memory 😉

What about you? What are your Top 5 for July? Do you want me to do this every month end? Maybe a monthly-favourite post… anything goes from makeup to skincare to food to whatever. Just a thought… let me know! Hope you’re having a lovely weekend. Now, over to you 🙂

xoxo Lily

  • I really like favourite posts, so yeah I’d say do one every once in a while :). The blush looks so pretty, it’s really funny to see it in such a special packaging, it’s very different from what you see. I’ve heard good things about the Dior mascara, I might try it later :).

    • Lily

Yes, I adore the blush! You have to try the Diorshow New Look mascara. I like it best among all other Dior mascaras 🙂

  • Liyeun

Thanks for sharing, Lily! Could you share your current skincare regime too?

    • Lily

Will see what I can do 🙂

  • Sunny @ Mostly Sunny

I’m a big fan of New Look too! My favorite for July would have to consist of mostly long-wearing and waterproof products. I think living in a warm and humid climate is one thing, wanting to walk around in such weather is another! With all the walking around I do, unless something is VERY resistant it just doesn’t stay past 8 hours!

    • Lily

Oh so now you know what I have to deal with all year round. Lol 😀 That’s also why I can’t depend on reviews from bloggers living in different climates. What’s long wearing in cool climates might not be the same for me.

      • Sunny @ Mostly Sunny

Gah now I totally understand! I need UDPP for even Maybelline 24-hour Tattoo to stay on me for more than 8 hours. It’s insane!

        • Lily

Insane is the right word. I had a great time wearing makeup when I was in cooler climate, but when I’m back to this weather (and it can go up to 38 degrees!), everything is minimalistic… unless it’s for a function that only goes for a few hours ;-P

  • Great picks! I’ve always been curious to try the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua, but I have heard it has a very high alcohol content and, while I’m not opposed to alcohol in my makeup and skincare, I do try to avoid it in large amounts if I can.

    • Lily

Hi Becca, I’m not sure how much alcohol the Vitalumiere Aqua contains, but it feels good on skin. My skin doesn’t react badly to alcohol, so I’m not too worried. Maybe it’s also because of our weather here. When it’s hot and humid all year round, it takes A LOT for a product to be drying on skin ;-P

  • Reading this post makes me want to try Dior’s products even more! Vitalumiere Aqua’s great for days when the weather’s just scorching isn’t it? Also with brows… My Shu Hard Brow Pencil is collecting dust in one corner and I do think it’s high time I brought it out! Thank you for featuring such lovely products and nothanks for creating new lemmings =D Hope you had a lovely weekend!

    • Lily

You should, Sukie! I absolutely love Dior and so far, majority of their products work well on me. I haven’t tried the much raved about hard brow pencil before, and I don’t think I will unless they have a Shu Uemura store here in Ipoh. It would be ridiculous if I had to travel all the way to KL just to get the pencil sharpened. LOL!

  • dom

Great post! Would love to see more of your favorites 🙂

    • Lily

Thanks! I’m planning to do a skincare one next 😉

        • Lily

I’m glad I could enable you, Gin. Dior is one of my favourite brands! I’ll feature a skincare post for August 🙂
