Start the Week Fresh with Diorsnow White Reveal Wipe Off Gel and Moisturizing Lotion

Do you know how much dead skin cells we shed on a daily basis? Exfoliation is important to keep our skin looking fresh and luminous. There are plenty of exfoliators around, from physical (common example: facial scrubs) to chemical (liquid you put on cotton pad and smooth over your face) and I was using Clarisonic Plus until I decided to change it up a bit.

Chemical exfoliators are quite common in Japanese skincare, and I’ve only tried Kanebo Impress. It was quite pricey and I didn’t see much result compared to my Clarisonic. I decided to give Dior a try because my skin seems to like Dior products. Dior Wipe Off Gel is from the Diorsnow range and it is a chemical exfoliator. I use this on a clean face, before toner. All I have to do is to squeeze 2-3 pumps onto a facial cotton pad and gently massage my face in circular motion (avoiding the eyes). I also bring it over my neck so I can get rid of some dullness there too. I then follow with the Diorsnow White Reveal Moisturizing Lotion, wiping my face outwards from the centre of my face.

This is my second bottle of Moisturizing Lotion which acts as a toner and I find that my skin is clearer with the use of this. I was using my Hada Labo SHA the past 2 months or so and it was OK until recently there were tiny bumps on my skin. I stopped that completely and stuck with Dior, and my skin is clear now.

I wear foundation nearly every day, so I always double cleanse. With this Wipe Off Gel, I could be sure there is no residue left from cleansing. This extra step preps the skin for better absorption of products to follow. The Dior consultant told me that for normal to combination skin (like mine), I could use this daily. I used this daily for the first 2 weeks until I felt my skin becoming a little taut, signs of dryness. So I eased off to 2-3 times a week and my skin is doing well. I notice my skin tone is more even and there is less dullness around my T-zone.

There is no particular scent to this product but I might be immune to the Dior scent already 😉 This Wipe Off Gel dries pretty quickly due to the alcohol content and if you have sensitive skin, you might want to be more careful. As you can see in the ingredients list below, alcohol content is high. My skin does not break out from regular use of this chemical exfoliator and as long as I don’t go crazy using it daily, my skin is good.

Dior Wipe Off Gel retails for RM155 and the Moisturizing Lotion costs RM170. I don’t know if I will repurchase the Wipe Off Gel because I could just stick to my Clarisonic, which gives similar results. However, I might go for a third bottle of the Moisturizing Lotion. I find it helps keep my skin clear which is important for me.

Do you exfoliate your skin? What do you use? Do you prefer the traditional beads or tools like Clarisonic or chemical exfoliators?

Oooh, Clarisonic… When can I own one ? The bumps on my chin are shouting for Clarisonic !!!

    • Lily

Maybe you can try the Mia?

      • Bugs

Yes, need to start saving up to get the Mia…. I wonder if it will really help clear the whiteheads on my chin and that after using Clarisonic, I can stop going for facial as what others had put it.

It did me good, the Clarisonic. I haven’t been to any facials since I got it. However, I’ve read negative reviews, saying that it makes their skin red and blotchy. It would be a disappointment if it didn’t work because of the price tag 🙁

I use Clarisonic on days when I have any make up on (which is about 5 days a week), somehow physical exfoliator is able to “convince” me that my skin is being cleaned thoroughly as compared to the chemical ones. That being said, I have yet to try any chemical exfoliator. Hurms…

I know what you mean about feeling the physical exfoliators do the job! But you gotta be careful not to scrub too hard. LOL! I think Clarisonic is good enough. Some have really sensitive skin, and chemical exfoliators help 🙂

I am waiting for my first DiorSnow in the mail, can’t wait to get it (tbh, I love the name, haha). Every western Dior cream/skincare hasn’t worked out for me at all but I know asian formulations are different and I hope it will be at least ok (isn’t it nice to have a bottle of DiorSnow in the bathroom, just looking at it, haha, even if the result is ok) … ok, beeing cheesy here but hey, sometimes you need a product that just looks pretty 😀

You love the name Diorsnow? Haha! I think Asian formulations are more gentle? I don’t know… but yeah, having the whole set of Diorsnow in the bathroom is neat. Then, add a bit of red from their One Essential range for a pop of colour. LOL!
