First, let me just say that this post is inspired by the lovely Tine from Beautyholics Anonymous. I thought her behind the scene post was lots of fun and I’ve always been curious how other bloggers, well, blog. So today, I will be letting you into my world, behind the scenes at Chloe.Ash!
Here is my vanity table in my bedroom, which also acts as my work station. I just put my laptop there and I type away! It’s also easy for me to refer to colours and textures as my makeup are all stored here. They are on top of the desk and in the drawers which are not shown in this photo. Some items I don’t reach for anymore are stored elsewhere. I’m planning to consolidate those things, but I haven’t decided what to do with them just yet. Yes, Chloe and Ashlyn decided to join in the fun. If you were wondering, yes, they just woke up, explaining the unmade bed.
I like to take photos using natural light but there are times when I just really don’t have the time. I’ve shared with you before that I take lovely photos using the bathtub, so here I’ll just tell you where I take the photos in daylight. There are times when I just crouch on the floor by the huge bedroom glass wall and I also take photos in the garden. Some FOTDs are taken at the front porch, so it really depends on how the sun is that day.
This is the huge glass wall in my bedroom. Since I don’t have someone taking a photo of me taking a photo, I decided to let Chloe and Ashlyn bomb most of my photos here, if you don’t mind 🙂 Photos taken at this location tends to be cooler because of the UV blocking tint of the glass wall.
This is the main door to the house, I can be found either standing snapping photos of myself, or sitting on the floor with the worst posture ever, taking photos of products. Photos here come out warmer than usual, and I think it’s very likely due to my surroundings. Warm wooden colours and also gold beige tiles. Want skin that looks warmer and with a tan? Take it here. LOL!
Then, there is post production. I used to use Lightroom, but I’m now learning to use Photoshop. I’m just a basic user, adjusting the curves and a little more. I’m still learning to make photos look more appealing and it’s all trial and error for me. I am a firm believer that good photos in a blog are very important. If you followed my blog’s progress, you’d be able to see the HUGE difference in photos. I’m still learning day by day, and I hope some day, my photos are attractive enough 🙂
So there you are, little snippets of behind the scenes (BTS) at Chloe.Ash. Hope I’ve de-mystified some questions. Blogging is anything but glamourous. It is time consuming, nerdy stuff, really. Haha! I might do another post on how I take my FOTD photos, but that means having to catch Mr ChloeAsh at the right time so he can be my photographer. We’ll see 😛
Do you blog? Perhaps you could do a BTS post as well, and put the link below. I’d love to read it, because I’m nosy like that 🙂
