FOTD: Michael Kors for Estee Lauder Holiday Set 2012 and Mini Review

This is the look for the Estee Lauder Holiday Set I bought a few days ago. I promised you I’d show you how they all look on me and here it is. For those of you who missed that post, please go read that first. Swatches for all products are there too! I decided to go totally bold for this look, hope you like it!

For this look, it is important for the face to look clean. It means shit loads of concealers for my flawed face. Some hormonal breakouts around my chin but luckily MUFE Full Cover concealer camouflaged them. I filled in my brows and started drawing my eyes. The black kohl pencil is very pigmented and smooth, and a word of warning: transfers! I initially wanted a cat eye flick only, but the black liner transferred onto my lids! I figured what the heck, I’ll just draw on top of it too then. The line became thicker and then became this. LOL!

I used the blush to contour, because I thought it would go with this look. I tried using it on the apples of my cheeks, and find it a little too dark. A very light hand is needed for fair skinned girls, but I would imagine this being very lovely for those with medium to dark skin. The mini mascara has a HUGE brush in it. But I liked it. Coats well, no clumping, volumizes fantastically too.

Then the lips. It is quite tricky to apply straight from the bullet unless you already have perfectly shaped lips. Mine are uneven, so any little flaws are emphasized. The red is bold and very pigmented. I applied it with a lip brush, and I’m glad to report there is no feathering. Gloss is a little sticky, so for this look, I only dabbed it at the centre of my lips.

Here is the final look!

Very dramatic eh? Looks good with your black number though 🙂 I hope you enjoyed this as much as I had fun creating it. Thanks for reading!

FUUUYOH! It makes my morning looking at such pretty pictures of a smouldering, sexy ladeh! ^.^

I like the reversed flick that you did on your lower lashline! Wonder how can I replicate it… hmmm…

    • Haha! Thanks. Let me know if you do replicate the look 🙂

  • Whoaaa I love this look!!! I’m kinda happy about the pencil transferring, because the end result is totally amazing! Too bad we don’t get these sets here *sniffs*

    • Aaw it’s too bad you’re not getting it there! Yeah, I guess this transfer did make the look interesting 🙂 Thanks Sunny

    • Aaw, thank you Tracy!

The last picture <3. I really like the shape you did, the eyes look stunning! I also find it pretty hard to use In general) bold lipsticks, like vamps or reds straight from the bullet. nothing looks better on me, when applied with a lipbrush. the edges are just smoother and more defined for sure.

    • It is tricky to wear bold lips. I have to apply it using lip brush or it would definitely be uneven. It takes lots of practice though. I initially had a very hard time!

  • LOOVE the look especially the red lips! Love how you apply the red lipstick so neatly and perfect!

    • Haha thank you Memoiselle. It’s quite difficult to make it so neat. My hands aren’t the steadiest 😛

  • you look super gorgeous, Lily! 🙂
i love the winged eyelines. and that pretty holiday red on your lips, of course!

    • Thank you Lena. The red was fun 🙂

  • Jennifer

Oooh lovely! Love the red lips and nails 🙂

    • Thank you Jennifer. Matchy matchy lips and nails indeed!
