Lancôme Got Me At Erika F

I don’t have many Lancôme items. Sometimes it can be hit or miss with that brand. So… What is this about Erika F? If you’ve been reading beauty blogs, you’d know. It was a much sought after elusive shade that is now not that elusive anymore. Erika F is part of the permanent line of Lancôme Ombre Hypnôse Iridescent Colour High Fidelity, code I202.

I have been looking for this single eye shadow for ages, so you can imagine how happy I was to see it at the counter. I was with my friend Sukie at that time, she came to visit, and both of us got one each. I mean, how could we have resisted? It also didn’t help that we are both beauty bloggers -__-” Dangerous liaisons, seriously.

How do I describe Erika F? It is a light silvery green that is multi dimensional. In different light, it can go from silver with a tinge of green to darker green with bluish undertones. Arm swatches just don’t do it any justice. Neither do my photos here. This iridescent shade is very shimmery. Sukie and I literally had glitter all over our arms. However, this shade is gorgeous on its own and when layered on top of a darker shade. Layering it over a dark brown gives you an autumnal feel, while using it as a pop of colour amongst black is surprisingly ethereal.

Erika F is great for times when I have to rush for work. I can use it alone with black liner and mascara, and I’m done. Photos below are taken 5 hours after application. I did not use any eye primers, and while there is some fading at the inner corners of my eyes (note: oily!), there is not much creasing. Impressive for an iridescent shade. I had Lunasol Water Gel foundation on my face, Estee Lauder Punker Black for eyeliner and my lips were bare. I can’t remember what I used for my cheeks, sorry! Oh, mascara was Diorshow Extase. While Erika F is glittery on my arms, it doesn’t translate that much onto my lids. There is a soft sheen and hardly any fall outs stuck on my cheeks.

If I’m not mistaken, this single eye shadow is priced at RM70. It is available at all Lancôme counters nationwide. If you haven’t seen this in person, you should. A versatile shade that goes with many other colours and if in hurry, just swipe it on using your fingers. I’m glad I got this and it is kept safely in my new makeup organizer.

Do you have this shade? It is one of the shades you should own though. Very pretty 🙂

OMG! This color would look so lovely on a dark base or on the center of the lids on a dark, smokey eye!

looks like a pretty color on its own. I am finding single shadows are usually a waste of money for me 🙁 i have quite a couple of singles here and there, but all were used just a couple of times, then forgot about them totally

    • I never thought about it that way before. LOL! You should check it out though. It’s really pretty 🙂

Aiyoh, now I want this too! For years I’ve been reading about the wonderful virtues of Erika F but can you believe I have never checked it out in person? I must remember to go look-see tomorrow.

    • Gasp! The horror! Hahaha… do let me know what you think though

  • I have been wearing this alone too and I’m really liking the shade! One of my best purchases of the year I must say, thanks to you 😉

    • I’m glad you like it too! And I’m glad you’re actually wearing it. I was afraid you bought it and left it in the drawer o_O

Oh ues, I bought it yesterday at KLCC, and you post about it today! Great minds think alike* lol! I wore it to work today, love the texture and colour – not OTT though it’s packed with shimmer….. I would say it’s a great buy with rm70. Oh btw, I layered it on top of a blue eyeliner.

    • Great minds think alike! *high five* Isn’t it lovely?

  • PRETTY! I’ve heard SO much about this shadow. Looks like it’s worth the hype though–it really is gorgeous on you!

    • You have to check it out, Becca. This is REALLY worth the hype 🙂
