Erase Dark Circles with Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser

To be honest, I have a lot of back log. There are some photos which were taken a year ago and I haven’t written about them! I am the ย laziest procrastinator ever. This Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser has been in my stash for more than 6 months. There were 2, a Neutralizer and Fair, and today, I will show you Fair.

The packaging can be much better and I am really not a big fan of the sponge applicator. I twist and twist and twist and twist and twist (you get the idea) before any product came out. Once the sponge is stained, there really isn’t any way to clean it. So, I make sure I keep it clean(er) by exposing it less. Instead of applying it directly onto my dark circles, I put some product at the back of my hand before applying with a brush. Yes, I know. I am anal. I’m like that. Get over it ๐Ÿ˜›

The concealer itself is a dream to apply. It is light and blends superbly to the skin. Rather than sitting on lines, it blurs out some fine lines which is great news for me. The shade Fair covers my dark circles quite well, but I still prefer Neutralizer which is more yellow toned. Unfortunately, I broke it. I twisted a little too hard, a little too fast and it broke. There was no way to fix it. The only way to save the product was to transfer it to a little pot, but I had none ๐Ÿ™ I didn’t want to transfer the following morning because all sorts of germs would have had their fair share of bath time in the product the whole night. Eeps!

Photo above is unedited save cropping and adding text. Picture on the left: completely bare face. Picture on the right: Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser only. No foundation or powder. This is just to show you how well it covers my dark circles. I usually use it on top of foundation, and it covers even better. It looks a little pink here, but on top of foundation, it turns out a little brighter without pink undertones.

Have you tried this? I wish they would change the packaging to something more hygienic. The product itself is awesome for the price. This product is not available in Malaysia yet, but if you can get your hands on it and if you can get over the packaging, do try. Are you using any under eye concealers? What’s good?

xoxo Lily

  • Cindy Liew

I have been looking for this. Where u get it?

    • Hi Cindy, I got it through sgDrugstore. She’s also on Facebook, so you can ask her about ordering this there ๐Ÿ™‚

  • That seems to cover really well, but too bad about the packaging. I *hate* packaging like this :/

    • I like it for its texture and cover. I can still stand it as long as no one else touches it… but it does feel a little wet and squishy after a few uses which makes me go eew. Hahaha!

  • Charlotte

Oh, my current fave eye concealer ๐Ÿ˜€

    • Really? I guess the sponge doesn’t bother you? Do you wash it? I find it quite impossible…

  • Charlotte

It does, that is my only concern. However, I do try to make myself feel better by not using the sponge directly on my undereye area, instead i dab the sponge on the back of my palm (washing my hands before that of course), then apply it using a brush or finger.

    • I know right? I really wonder what the product owners were thinking. Maybe hygiene is not their priority -_-“

  • The packaging looks like anything but practical, when will they learn that this is a no-go, lol. It’s unhygienic and you are very smart to not use this directly onto the skin. But the product itself seems like a dream! There must be a way around the packaging, no? ๐Ÿ™‚

    • I tried. There is nothing I can do except having it dispensed from the sponge holes. Haha! If I break it and transfer it into a pot, it would be the same. The product will be exposed even more frequently. So I’m just leaving it like that…

  • Ahhh too bad to hear about the packaging problem! I am actually looking for a good undereye concealer. I usually use the NARS stick concealer all over, but for the moment it’s a bit too dry for the undereye area. Time to look for a more moisturizing one!

    • I find RMS un cover up to be quite moisturizing. Maybe you can try that?

  • Claire

I also hate such packaging. I tested it on my hand only but I really disliked the feel of it. It seems to get a lot of hype. I don’t know what it was but it didn’t appeal to me. It seems to cover really well though and it looks natural. I think there are better concealers out there with nicer packaging ๐Ÿ˜€

    • You are definitely right. There are better ones out there, with better packaging too, but for the price, I’m not so sure. I’m still loving my Clinique airbrush concealer and that one had been in my kit for a while

  • this is one of the best concealer to cover dark circles. yeah, not a fan of the sponge applicator. from time to time i’ll wipe some alcohol (on a piece of tissue) on the sponge. not sure if it’ll 100% clean it but it makes me feel better.

    • That’s a great idea Coco! I cleaned it the other day by wiping off all residue using a tissue, or rather tissues, but that was the best I could do. Will try it with alcohol next time. thanks for sharing!

  • Love this Maybelline line. The foundation in the same line is also a great product.

    • I haven’t tried the foundation but I suspect it might be too moisturizing for the humid weather here. Is the packaging of the foundation the same as the concealer? I don’t think I can take that. LOL!
