Be Good To Your Skin with RMS: Cover with “Un” Cover-Up

Organic makeup. This is my first RMS Beauty product and if you’re not familiar with the brand, RMS Beauty is an original, pure, organic color cosmetic line created by celebrity makeup artist Rose Marie Swift… consider it skincare with mineral color – giving makeup a whole new meaning…RMS Beauty claims that its organic ingredients are non-toxic, and they actually heal and nourish the skin. You can go to their official website to have a look.

Today, I will feature the “un” cover-up. Since the brand in not available in Malaysia, I bought it from Zuneta. I think I mentioned my experience buying from this site before. I love shopping there! (Edited August 2014: Zuneta is no longer functioning, but you can get RMS from Cult Beauty) Back to the “un” cover-up. First of all, I thought the name is rather catchy. I’m also curious about their Lip2Cheek and Living Luminizer, and when my makeup ban is over, I will consider getting them 😛  The “un” cover-up is a concealer and can be used as a foundation as well. There are shades 11, 22, 33 and 44, 11 being the lightest. I was unsure about this or the 22, but I ended up with the lightest shade available. (Edited August 2014: The lightest shade available is now 00 instead of 11)

The product is very creamy. As soon as I touched it with my finger, I was taken aback. Oh dear. It’s rich and creamy and might not work on my skin in this crazy humid weather. I tried it on, dabbing it onto my blemishes and the product just blended into my skin so well that it disappeared. One word came into my mind… Interesting!

Then, the smell. I want to say that it smells like a mixture of coconuts and clay. If you don’t have a very sensitive nose, you might not detect it. It took a little while for me to get used to it, but now, I kinda like it 🙂 For this product, a little goes a long way. I like to use this as a concealer, and it works great covering up both blemishes and dark circles. It is hydrating, and according to the product description, it helps to heal too. I can’t say this product alone made my previously bumpy skin better, but I can definitely tell you it didn’t make the bumps worse.

Now look at the swatch and the texture. Can you see how rich and thick the texture is? However, once blended, it just melts and blends into my skin. I tried using it as a foundation. Instead of applying it all over my face, I only applied a thin layer where I needed it. I use my ring finger, dab on some product and blend it out. I couldn’t tell where the “un” cover-up starts, and where it ends! The product description says that it mimics the colour of our skin and I think it’s true (provided you picked a shade that is not too far off, of course). It’s absolutely gorgeous, just like I have great skin. While the product does absorb into skin, I still have to set it with powder. My skin (even without makeup) gets oily by noon so if I didn’t powder, I will look very shiny by then. With this on, I blot the shine away then touch up with powder only. The coverage is still there, which is great.

I’ve been loving this lately, and I’ve been using this religiously since I got it more than a month ago. Many of my blogger friends overseas have been raving about this, and now I understand why. Have you tried anything from RMS Beauty? If not, I suggest you give it a go. It’s good!

  • OOO yeah, rms is another brand that I need to look into! Seems like an excellent concealer! Does it wear well on you? Is there noticeable fading by the end of the day? I think I read somewhere that the founder isn’t fond of long-lasting products, because she finds that she can’t trust the stuff that needs to go into them to make them long-lasting. While that is more than likely very true, I have been a bit unsure about trying their products because of that.

    • It is a good one. It isn’t as long lasting as the Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer – my foundation slips before the concealer (!) but it’s good enough for me. I like to touch up on powder around mid day, and by night time, some spots show (still blurred) but my dark circles are still concealed. I hope that helps!

  • I’m glad to hear you liked this. It amazing, I totally agree. It just melts and disappears. It also works incredibly well. I need a tad more coverage for my under eyes, it I do use this as foundation sometimes and to conceal any blemishes. Not to add fuel to the fire but the lip 2 cheeks are amazing!

    • Ahhh!! I NEED the Lip2Cheeks. I saw the videos on Zuneta, and it’s not helping. I must resist for another month. I’m sticking to my makeup ban!

  • Claire

I love RMS!! uncover (and tobh. all of their products) are simply amazing and work great for my skin. happy you like it as well 🙂

    • I’m eyeing on so many things! Wanted the living luminizer which is out of stock on zuneta.

  • Nida

I need to give this one a try sounds promising. The packaging is also cute.

    • Let me know how it works for you after you’ve tried it!

  • Nida

and now I am going to check the ZUnetea site <3

    • Oh, a word of warning… I’m not responsible for any damage it does to your wallet! 😛

  • This does look interesting. The coverage looks rather light tho (not the color, but what it can cover) You say you only need this for your blemishes and it’s covered? I think I might “need” this!

    • Hi Elvira, yes it does cover my marks … Then again, I don’t have terribly dark ones. Either way, I think it is great to use when your skin needs a break. Works great on my skin 🙂

  • I do want to try this! Maybe when my current undereye concealer is gone!

    • Oh I thought you bought it! With your gorgeous skin, you probably can get away with just some light spot concealing and powder!

  • Tracy@Beauty Reflections

Interesting! I’ve only tried their cream eyeshadow and it just didn’t last on my oily lids even with a primer. It was SO creamy. But for a concealer that’s ok to be so creamy! WIll remember this on when my plethora of concealers gets used up!

    • Ah, I’m not even thinking to try the cream es because I know they will crease on me. The rest of their products sure look delicious tho!

  • Have not tried anything from this brand but I desperately want to try the highlighter and cheek/lip tints!!

    • I want them too! I’m just waiting for that no buy period to end. Time seems to be going much slower. Lol!

  • BooBooNinja

I have yet to find a concealer I like. This one blends right into the skin? I’ve got to investigate further!

    • Yes, it blends into my skin really well. I also read a few similar reviews so it’s not just me 🙂 Let me know how it works on your skin too if you decided to give it a try!

  • Parita

I have actually bee looking for a good under eye concealer..was eyeing mac pro-long wear but since one looks tempting..let me check the shade selection..looks very creamy just what i want for my dry under eye area!

    • Definitely good for dry skin. Too bad there’s only a limited number of shades though.

  • Liz

I was so curious about this a few years ago but now I’m in a hating concealer stage. (Mostly because the ones I have just won’t die!) I think it sounds too emollient for my oily skin but you bet I’ll test it out if I ever see one in real life.

    • I have combination normal/oily skin, and it works quite well. Furthermore, the weather here (hot and humid) is definitely a huge contributor to makeup melting moments. This one is OK though. You should definitely try it out 🙂

  • i really want to try this! it is definitely on my list! 🙂

    • You have to try this Joyce. It’s very good 🙂
