Note: Blush Fiends is a collaboration among a few bloggers and we will talk about….. surprise… blush!! LOL πŸ˜€ This is our first project together, so remember to show your support to the rest, links below.

A few years ago, I only had 2 or 3 blushes in my stash. One little drawer would have been too big to store all my makeup. I wonder what happened. My first blush, or rather the blush that stuck with me and the one that sparked my interest in other blushes is a Japanese one. It’s an orange blush from Coffret D’or (which is not available in Malaysia anymore). I can’t remember the number, because I only bought the refill pan and there is no way I can reference it at the counter. It might be OR3, might not.

I was recommended this blush because of my warm under tones and lighter skin. While looking orange on my arm, it translates to something more glowy on my cheeks. I find that it brightens my complexion, something that Bobbi Brown Calypso Coral also does to me. The common ground between the two is the brighter lighter orange tone. I guess it suits me. I also use this Coffret D’or blush on my lids. It is not in your face at all, but it adds some warmth and appropriate for Spring. I like to pair it with green, like what I’ve done in pictures below.

There’s a hint of green on my lids for some contrast while I kept everything else in line with the blush colour. Face is sculpted using Chan Notorious and lip colour is a combination of No7 Lip Liner in Nude and a peachy beige gloss from Lunasol.

For the face, I used Bobbi Brown BB cream as a base, and I reduced shine using Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place Dual Effect Powder Makeup. I like to use this powder foundation when I want more coverage but pressed for time.

I hope you liked this post, even though you might not be able to get this blush anymore. I’m sure there are plenty of dupes out there. Thing is, something orange-y will work just fine because when worn, the subtle differences probably won’t be detected through naked eye.

What a pretty shade it is. Looks very pretty on you.

    • Thanks Nida. It’s a soft blush πŸ™‚

  • The shade is lovely and I really like the idea of collaborative posts. <3 xx

    • Hi Sahrish, yes, collaborative posts are lots of fun!

  • Kay

That looks good on you! The first blush I had is the benefit georgia which is peachy and I love to use it daily because it gives an impression of healthy skin. It looks good with light or heavy eye makeup. From there I bought a revlon one which I threw it away because it’s too dark on me (and I don’t know how to contour at that time), and explored cream blushes. I hope to finish using two from my five before end of this year. Keeping my fingers crossed!

    • Hi Kay, I have yet to try Benefit blushes in those cute little boxes. I adore cream blushes. They look so much more natural and “blended” than powder blushes when done right πŸ™‚

  • IT is so PRETTY ON YOU! YAYYY BLUSH!! lol.

    • Haha thanks Joyce

  • Tracy@Beauty Reflections

Very pretty on you Chloe! It’s such a pretty glow on you!

    • It’s not bad, this one. I was initially hesitant because it’s orange, but it works!

  • This one is LOVELY! I have a soft spot for shades like this one as well πŸ™‚

    • Really? Then you have to try Calypso Coral by Bobbi Brown. I think it has to be my favourite bright orange shade ever. It complements our skin tone very well.

  • These peachy oranges look so good on everyone else, but I feel like they’re rubbish on me, hahahahaha.

    • I always thought these shades go well with under tones like ours, Larie -_- Perhaps a brighter orange that leans red will fare better?

  • A very pretty shade πŸ™‚ I used to have a big fear of blush always opting for bronzers until I realized what a world of dufference it made to my appearance. Now I’m a bit obsessed and can’t get enough. I just picked up Sunday Riley in Blushing, the formula is stunning. I loved your story..

    • Hi Taylor, blushes definitely make a difference! I on the other hand, only discovered bronzers after blushes. Sunday Riley is a brand I’ve been hearing lots of! Are you gonna review it? I can’t wait to read what you think πŸ™‚

  • That’s a very pretty shade. These sort of peachy colours are totally up my alley πŸ™‚

    • Is Coffret D’or available in Australia, Tine? It pulled out of our shores a few years back, but I always wonder if it’s just our country, or if the brand just scraped this line altogether… and yes, peachy colours work really well with our skintones πŸ˜€

  • Oooh wow that is SUCH a pretty shade! Great, now I am desperate to find a blush like that! I recently bought Chanel’s Frivole but I think (based on your swatches) that is MAY be just a bit more orange. :/

    • Hi Becca, the closest dupe in my stash is Bobbi Brown’s Calypso Coral (when worn) but this one by Coffret D’or is more milky, if you know what I mean. I have yet to swatch Frivole so I can’t compare, but online swatches seem to be a little more pinky coral than the one I have. I hope that helps!

  • I used to have something similar in Shu Uemura – their orange blushes are very wearable and very pretty on skin too! I’m not disappointed Coffret D’or has left though – they never wowed me (even if I did own a blush or two from their collections πŸ˜€ ) Good job with the blush fiends πŸ™‚

    • Oh I’ve tried Shu Uemura once when I got my makeup done there. Been wanting to get that blush that was used on me, but it always slips my mind. Now that you’ve reminded me….

  • Jennifer

Looks good Lily! I usually have my reservations on anything orangey for fear of looking like an orange or rusty lol. But seeing your post makes me have a change in heart. We won’t know until we try it I guess πŸ™‚ Just have to be adventurous and try.

    • That’s right Jennifer! There are so many shades of orange that I’m sure you can find one that suits your skin tone. If you find one that looks good on you, do tell what it is πŸ˜€

  • The color looks very nice! It does brighten up your skin very well!!

    • Thank you Meryl. I’m glad I didn’t throw this away when I was spring cleaning my stash πŸ™‚

  • Blush Fiends! How fun! This one is so pretty on you. I love orangey, peachy shades — not too sweet and pairs well with so many looks. πŸ˜€

    • Hi peach_, yes, this shade goes very well with many different looks. It might even go well with Trianon Grey πŸ˜‰

  • I have tons of blushes but somehow none of them are this type of peachy shade. It looks really natural and amazing on you,.. I might have to go out and look for a similar shade πŸ™‚

    • Hi Sofia, I hope you can find a similar shade. This shade is really easy to wear. No sparkles or glitters either. Matte but soft πŸ™‚

  • Liz

Very nice! I love the look of it. πŸ™‚ I like how we know exactly which blush to trace back to the beginning of the craze. (For me it was Benefit Dandelion.) BLUSH FIENDS FOR LIFE.

    • We missed you in this post, Liz. I hope you can join us for the next installment. It is pretty ‘scary’ that I remember which blush started it. Just like I remember which bunch of eyeshadows started the crazy. LOL!

  • Victoria

A very interesting post πŸ™‚ I think I have a similar colour from MAC called Peaches. I always thought this blush was too bright but reading your post has made me curious to dig out mine and try it on at work this week. LOL.

    • Oh, when colours seem too bright or pigmented, I apply it with a very light hand. A useful tool will be a stippling brush, because it only picks up very little product. Then, blend like crazy. I tried peaches before, and while the colours are similar, this one by Coffret D’or seems to be a little milky like how pastels are…

  • I love this post, so nice! You really sparked my interest in orange toned blushes now, I’m a bit scared of them, lol. But it looks so pretty on you!

    • Orange blushes are delicious… you have to try it!

  • BooBooNinja

This blush is gorgeous! I adore peachy blushes like this.

    • I know right? *loves*
