Femme Boulevard: A Pop Of Emerald

The Pantone Colour of the year is Emerald and we thought it would be fun to get in the groove of things. Let’s come up with a look using a pop of emerald! It can be wearable, it can be creative, it can be an editorial. I was thinking of something wearable, and then I saw this photo of the amazing liner! I could change the colour to emerald and kapow!

Then, there’s this Pinterest photo on my Inspiration board…

And of course there’s Larie’s post on the Elle Vietnam editorial.

Elle Vietnam

*pause* I’m torn. I don’t know which look to do… So I’m gonna leave it here for now, and come back a few days later to decide 🙂 So tonight is when the post should be up, and I am just editing the photos now. Makeup was done on a whim last night, at the last minute. I was going to do something similar to the Elle Vietnam editorial look, but I made a mistake, and changed the look completely. I used Lancome Maqui Blanc Miracle liquid foundation on my face and NARS Orgasm as blush. I contoured using Chanel Notorious and powdered with Chanel Poudre Universelle. I had blemishes here and there, and concealed with Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage. The strong light helped to wash out the marks, and just to let you know that my eyes are not usually this light. It’s the way the light bounced as well 🙂

On the eyes, I used Burbery Midnight Brown all over the lid. With a green liner, I lined my lower lash line, pulling it lower than usual. With L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow Emerald Lame, I patted it on top of the liner and blended it to soften the line. I was going to end with this, to re-create the look above, but it looked a little weird on me. So, I started pulling the green on my upper crease as well. It started looking muddy, so I used Dior single eye shadow in Khol to darken the crease area before using Emerald Lame again on top of the black. This helps bring out the green so much more. I finished off with a thin line of winged out liner using Dior Diorshow Art Pen in Catwalk Pen (review up soon) and a few coats of mascara.

Lipstick is Revlon Super Lustrous 240 Sandalwood Beige topped with Lunasol Shiny Gold Beige Red Full Glamour Gloss.

Here is another shot, using another lip product.

For this photo, I didn’t use any gloss and replaced the peachy nude lip with something a little more punch. This is Guerlain Shine Automatique in 760 Lou-Ling. It is a sheer lipstick with burgundy undertones. It can be worn light and can be built up, but there’s a limit to it. This is the most pigmented it can get. Which look to you prefer? Just a change of one lip product can change a look. I think the first look is softer while the second is a little more mature, a little more femme fatale. Personally, I prefer the first one, with lighter lips 🙂

As usual, please check out with my fellow Femmes (<– Joey started it. LOL!), Joey and Teri have in store for you. They always have beautiful pictures, and they are gorgeous to look at. Until next month, stay beautiful!
