Clinique Chubby Stick Intense Curviest Caramel

I knew I had to try the Clinique Chubby Stick Intense. I have a few of their chubby sticks even though I haven’t written about them, and they are really moisturizing and lovely on the lips. When I read that there’s a newer version which brings more pigmentation, I had to have it. When I learned there is a nude shade that pretty much garners RAVES, that is it. Curviest Caramel was mine! And the best part is, I snagged it right before my no buy *insert evil laugh*!

Just like the chubby stick sisters, the packaging is the same. They are chubby pens. The lipstick itself twists up, so there is no wastage or the inconvenience of sharpening it. Everyone who makes lipstick in a pen form should use this mechanism. There are many positive reviews about NARS Lip Pencils, but the thing that stops me from buying is the fact that they need sharpening. Maybe one day I’ll give it a try, but you know, I’m just happy about this. No sharpening needed.

The texture of the chubby stick intense is creamy and smooth. This Curviest Caramel glides on without too much slip, and the colour goes on opaque with just one layer. Super awesome! It lasts 5 hours on me, and it is so comfortable that I forgot I had lipstick on! It didn’t bother my lips, didn’t flake, didn’t dry. I would definitely recommend this if you haven’t tried it before. I’ve read some inconsistencies in the texture, but so far, I’ve only read the best reviews for Curviest Caramel. I mean, I don’t understand the name, but what the heck.

The colour is that of a nude neutral that isn’t too pink, nor is it too beige. I would say it looks like maybe muted salmon? I think this will look great across most skin tones. It is a great nude colour that doesn’t wash me out, that can be worn alone, or paired with a more dramatic eye colour. I tried it with pink and coral blushes and it doesn’t look out of place. However, it did look kinda weird when I wore a red blush šŸ˜›

Against my skin tone and on my lips, it pulls a little more pink, but it is still neutral enough that I can call it nude, if you know what I mean. The Clinique Chubby Stick Intense retails for RM60 and if you haven’t grabbed them, you must. If you’re a no fuss natural makeup kinda gal, this is your shade! If you love smokey eyes, pair it with Curviest Caramel. If you love lipsticks with a punch, there are other more intense shades to choose from.

Have you tried this? What are you waiting for?

xoxo Lily

Love this color!! In terms on moisturizing, how does this compare to the Rouge d’serum from Dior?

    • The Dior one is more moisturizing and my lips feel softer after application. This one is moisturizing enough that my lips feel comfortable. Then again, Dior RdS is nearly twice the price!

  • Oooooh pretty pretty pretty!!! I thought I was going to pass on these Intense ones and just go for the original, since I love me some sheer lippies but this one is just TOO gorgeous! It reminds me a bit of Fresh Sugar Honey tinted lip treatment, which I love, so I am definitely going to be checking this out! šŸ˜€

    • Gorgeous, isn’t it? You have to check it out. Let me know what you think when you do!

  • I have this as well and love it! I looks a lot more nude on me – it’s much pinker on you!

    • I read your post. I wish it looks more nude on me. It looks beautiful on you!

      • It really is pink on you isn’t it! I think it’s super flattering on you though!

Thanks for reading my post! šŸ™‚

        • I wish it’s less pink and more nude. Oh well, can’t win all the time. Lol!

  • Parita

Loving this shade! totally my kinda everyday wear shade..its perfect for office!

    • This is definitely easy to wear. It just goes with so many things!

  • Tracy@Beauty Reflections

Pretty! It sure pulls pink on you though compared to what I’ve seen but I like it!

    • Weird how a lipstick looks different on different people, eh?

  • Nani

Awww… What a pretty shade. I love clinique chubby stick. I have Mega Melon one and a few of Revlon Just bitten balm which I think it’s not as good as clinique. But then again the price is also half of Clinique.

    • I find the Revlon ones a bit drying but these chubby sticks are just so comfy on the lips. Thanks for dropping by, Nani!

  • This is pretty! It’s a lot more pink on you than some others, so I’m curious to see how it might show up on me.

    • I know right? Lipsticks usually pull pink on me. Unless i conceal my natural lip colour before applying the lipstick. Too much work though! I’d love to see how it looks on you!

Funny story… I’ve been reading Temptalia’s blog forever and one day I saw her post and thought, wow this is my favorite lip color I’ve ever seen her wear… and it turned out to be this exact product. šŸ™‚

    • LOL! Will you be checking this out?

  • Hey Lily, I’m most probably picking this up this week (got a coupon burning a hole in my pocket haha)! I checked out the line and for some reason this caught my eye, which is not very typically me. How would you compare it with Dior Incognito? This kinda reminds me of it!

    • Hey Sunny, I would say Incognito is much sheerer. Curviest Caramel pulls more pigmentation and the finish is a little more matte than Incognito šŸ™‚

  • Hi! I don’t like sharpenng either… I really like how this colour looks and will be watching out for it next time I look for a lipstick šŸ™‚

    • High fives for us who don’t bother with sharpening. You should check this out either way. From the picture I see of you, this should suit you well too šŸ™‚

When they first came out I went to Clinique immediately and bought two: Curviest Caramel and Roomiest Rose!! Both of them are great I think everyone should try them. As you mentioned they don’t make any discomfort on lips which I suffer from most of the lipsticks and I don’t need to use lipbalm to smooth my lips before this so it’s a win šŸ™‚

    • Hi Casey23, thanks for dropping by šŸ™‚ I don’t remember what Roomiest Rose looks like (have to google the swatch) but I have my eye on Heftiest Hibiscus šŸ™‚ They ARE very comfortable, aren’t they?

  • liyeun

They are here dy??? Oh my…. time to check it out…thanks! Byw any other color that u find intriguing?

    • Yup, they’ve been around for the last few weeks. Another colour I like is Heftiest Hibiscus, a bright coral. Might pick that up after my no buy is over šŸ™‚

  • Kiss & Make-up

I don’t have this shade, but I do have Heftiest Hibiscus and I love it! I really like the formula of these Chubby Sticks.

    • Oh, Heftiest Hibiscus is another shade I’d LOVE to have. The formula is pretty good… now if only they had more shades to choose from šŸ˜›

  • Laura

These Intense Chubby Sticks sounds right up my alley! I tested the original ones before at the counter, and felt kinda disappointed at the weak pigmentation. Maybe I should give this series a chance. XD
I totally agree with your on the pencil-type lipsticks. I just can’t stand the mess and wastage of those that need to be sharpened. >__<

    • Yup, the original chubby sticks are super sheer. I think they have more slip than these intense ones. If I had to choose, I’d definitely go for this!

  • I love it, it’s a beautiful nude. It looks love,y on your complexion. I’ve been curious to try these as well as the chubby sticks for eyes.

    • Oh yes, I’m very curious about the ones for eyes. Apparently they are great for oily lids!

  • Liz

I had one of these in Honey something or another, and used that mother up in like 3 months. They are so handy!! I want some of the brighter more fun shades now. šŸ™‚

    • You used it up in 3 months? Wow… that’s quick. Yes to brighter fun shades! Can’t wait to read what you think šŸ™‚
