It’s tough. I’ve been losing some of my blogging mojo lately. It might be due to the fact that my back is still uncomfortable, and the internet connection has been really slow. I used to schedule my posts 2 weeks ahead, and I am now burning the midnight oil. It also took us longer to come up with this month’s theme. Joey and Teri were keen on doing a drugstore makeup only post, but I’m on a no buy. Scrap that. So for today, we decided to show you an every day makeup. This kind of makeup is my go to. When I don’t know what to do, I always fall back to this. I might use different colours, but the colour placement on my eyes will be the same.
I took these photos just before going to work the other day. The morning sunlight is quite forgiving, but it still washed out a lot of the colours. For this every day look, I keep everything simple. My makeup routine is foundation, powder, brows, eyes, mascara, blush then lipstick. In the photo above, I used Rachel K Mineral Color Control Blemish Balm. A 10 in 1 CC cream. I am still testing out this product, so do expect a review soon. To set it, I used Dior Diorsnow Fresh Reveal Light-Reveal Colour Correcting Powder in 001. This powder is new from Dior’s Diorsnow range. I will talk about this powder later 🙂 I defined my brows with my beloved Shu Uemura hard pencil in Seal Grey and the mascara is Estee Lauder Double Wear Zero Smudge Lengthening Mascara.
On my eyes, I used Bare Minerals eye quad in Truth. I bought this last year, wore it a few times, but I never actually wrote about it before. It is a very user friendly palette, great for every day! I like to keep the lighter colours on my lids, and save the darker shades for my outer corners and my lash lines. I am not wearing any eye liner here, but when I have more time, I like to use my go to liquid liner for a clean sharp line. I paired this look with a coral blush and a coral pink lip which is Shiseido Perfect Rouge Sublime.
What is your daily makeup routine? Do you have a particular look you’re more comfortable with? Something to fall back on when everything else fails?
