Sunday Stash Shopping #2

To tell you the truth, I didn’t wear much makeup the last 2 weeks. I told you I strained my back, and I stayed at home most of the time… so I didn’t manage to wear much makeup. However, when I did, these were the few things I chose from my stash. I wanted to look a little more “alive”, so I picked a brighter lipstick. It’s also been quite hot, so I just used a light dusting of powder, which disappeared shortly after due to perspiration.

The products I have with me are MAC Mineralised Skin Finish Natural in Light, which I had for the last stash shopping post. For brows, I love using Shu Uemura hard pencil in Stone Grey to fill them in. For the eyes, I use Revlon Colorstay Smoky Shadow Stick in 201 Torch as base (doesn’t stay THAT well!), and the Bobbi Brown brow kitΒ on my eyes. They are powder eye shadows to begin with anyway! I am testing out this mascara duo from Estee Lauder, and I will talk about it more in a separate post. For my cheeks, I love a pop of pink to make me feel alive, and my love for cream blushes made me choose MAC Cremeblend Blush in Florida. It goes quite well with a little red lip which is Dior Serum de Rouge in Raspberry.

This is the look:

And I can’t get a good shot because I was photobombed non stop! So in the end, I took this for you

    How’s your back today? *hug*

I like the simplicity of this look.

I’ve been using pretty much the same things I always use.
    – MAC Prolongwear Bronzer (Nude On Board)
    – Cargo Tonga blush (hit pan a while back but it doesn’t want to die!) or Milani Luminoso
    – Physicians Formula liquid eyeliner pen
    – Maybelline Falsies mascara (occasionally)

I was good at resisting MU in the States, getting only a replacement eye primer and the new Nude Rimmel Scandal’eyes eyeliner. I chose to get the latter over my previously stated ban exception (NARS Lhasa). I hope the eyeliner works for me; otherwise I’ll be extremely bummed.

Lily, I need help resisting a new bronzer. I had planned on Nude On Board could carrying me through the summer when I got it, but I’m realizing it’s far too light. I’d rather fake a tan with bronzer than get a natural, sun-derived tan. What should I do? I’ve got no more exceptions (except for the NARS concealer) left.

    • My back is now much better, thanks dearie! I hope that eyeliner works for you too. Ah bronzers… LOL! I don’t use them much except to maybe add some definition on my face. Do you have existing bronzers? Then maybe you can tell yourself that you still have it, and you can get better ones next year? Or in August πŸ™‚

      • BooBooNinja

Unfortunately (?) I don’t have another bronzer. I’m going to hold off for as long as I can. *crosses fingers* August, here I come! πŸ™‚

        • Good luck Boo! Stay strong!

  • When it’s super hot out, I always like to go really light with the products too. This look is quite simple and effortless but definitely makes you look fresh and pretty! Love it! πŸ™‚

    • Thanks Becca. It must be the pink cheeks and red lips. They always make you look fresh πŸ™‚

  • Aw, I hope your back is feeling better! I know, when I’m sick or stressed out, the last thing I want to do is worry about my makeup, so I just stick on whatever is closest or easiest πŸ˜› These past few months have been a combination of all of that, so I’ve been wearing easy neutrals and lip balm, haha!

    Also. Your daughter is adorable.

    • Thanks Larie πŸ™‚ Easy neutrals are easy to pull off. Oh and tinted lip balms are good too!

  • liyeun

The raspberry lippie looks bright n pink on u!! It looked brown on me, really unflattering…. anyways ur simple stash is already good enough to make u look good! Hope u r recovering well….

    • Raspberry pulls brown on you? Wow… I know Rosewood pulls a little brown, but it’s quite a lovely shade. I’ve been keeping it simple, but since I’m much better now, I plan to use a little bit more stuff πŸ™‚

  • Aaaaw, I love the last picture, your little one is so precious! ^^ I really love your picks, I’m very distracted by the brightness of Florida, such a pity that I never picked it up. I hope your back is getting better now!

    • Thanks Teri! Chloe went on a short trip with the grandparents, so Ashlyn is home alone with us. She’s sticking to me like glue. LOL! Florida is a beautiful bright fuchsia. If there’s a repromote of this shade, you have to pick it up πŸ™‚

  • Jennifer

Take care Lily. Hope your back is getting better. Love the beautiful look put together. Lovely lips and cheeks!

    • Thanks Jennifer. I was counting on the lips and cheeks to make me more alive. HAHAHA!

  • Aww so sorry to hear about your back, Lily! So jealous of the warm weather you have there (let’s swap for a week? It snowed quite a bit again last night)! Annnnd what a cuuuute little girl!

    • Thanks Sunny and I’d love to swap with you. I WANT SOME COLD!!!

  • Liz

Eeeeek! Adorable picture of your precious there. πŸ˜€

I get so excited when I see a bright blush now that it’s quite ridiculous. Nice look, Lily!

    • Thanks Liz! Bright blush fiends yay!

  • Kiss & Make-up

    Lovely look!

  • Simpler look for hot days is my go-to too!! I love your brows in the pic. Neat, clean, fresh and natural. Your guest model is precious and beautiful x

    • Thanks Joanne. Its been crazy hot in the day and thunderstorms in the evening causing flash floods too. Crazy weather!

  • What a cutie pie! Sorry to hear your back is still a bother πŸ™ but your looking lovely in that bright lips and cheeks!

    • It’s getting better… very slowly… but yay for that bright lips and cheeks. Thank goodness for makeup. Otherwise, I’d look crappier than usual. LOL!

  • Aw, I’m sorry you’ve been down for the count with your back lately! πŸ™ I hope it is feeling better and you’ll be back to top speed in no time! The fact that you took the time to do a FOTD post is awesome, Lily! πŸ™‚ Love the eyeshadow a LOT.

    • I’m sorry too. Bad posture when lifting something heavy. Stooopid move. LOL! I had to do the FOTD some time. Blogging seems to keep me sane, if that makes sense. The brow kit makes an amazing eye shadow eh? I thought that’s cool πŸ™‚

  • Nani

Hi Lily.. Sorry to hear about your back. My mom twisted her back’s muscle before and she said it was very painful, she even cried. I hope that you will get better soon.
Enjoy looking your FOTD as I have a similar eye shape like yours..

    • Ah, cool that we have similar eye shape! Please feel free to browse through the “Looks” tab. Plenty of FOTDs there πŸ™‚
