I got this palette a year ago. I took all the photos but never got round to telling you about it. After purchasing The Escape, I knew I would love this one too. I mean, it’s a palette of taupes and browns. What could be better?
The eye shadow palette is housed in a rubbery case which is not unlike NARS. However, one good thing is, the rubber hasn’t melted even after a year. My NARS blush case is starting to feel sticky, so bareMinerals win, NARS lose. LOL! I also like that there are different names for each eye shadow which minimizes confusion.
These eye shadows are soft and pigmented, and they are great to work with. They blend effortlessly, and they stay on my lids for about 3 hours before creasing. My lids fold at the inner corners, and all eye shadows get eaten up. The colours are very user friendly, not too warm, not too cool. Serendipitous (top left) is a light beige which works great as a highlight. On my eyes, this colour blends right in. Magnetism (top right) is a medium taupe which has a good balance of brown and grey and some shimmers. Apropos (bottom right) is a dark taupe brown with silver glitters. The glitters are very fine, and aren’t noticeable when worn. Of all the shades, I would say this is the driest. Fate (bottom left) is a shimmery brown which I’d say is a good shade in between bronze and burgundy minus the red.
Below are swatches done on my arm, from left to right: Serendipitous, Magnetism, Fate and Apropos.
If you’re a taupe lover, if you like neutrals which aren’t too warm or cool, then this is worth a look. I did a look using this palette previously on my Femme Boulevard post, but just for your convenience, here is the picture again.
You can find this palette at Sephora if you’re interested. I’m not sure how much they are, because I bought it online during a sale. Have you tried any bareMinerals eye palettes before?
