bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow 4.0 in Truth Is Great For Every Day

I got this palette a year ago. I took all the photos but never got round to telling you about it. After purchasing The Escape, I knew I would love this one too. I mean, it’s a palette of taupes and browns. What could be better?

The eye shadow palette is housed in a rubbery case which is not unlike NARS. However, one good thing is, the rubber hasn’t melted even after a year. My NARS blush case is starting to feel sticky, so bareMinerals win, NARS lose. LOL! I also like that there are different names for each eye shadow which minimizes confusion.

These eye shadows are soft and pigmented, and they are great to work with. They blend effortlessly, and they stay on my lids for about 3 hours before creasing. My lids fold at the inner corners, and all eye shadows get eaten up. The colours are very user friendly, not too warm, not too cool. Serendipitous (top left) is a light beige which works great as a highlight. On my eyes, this colour blends right in. Magnetism (top right) is a medium taupe which has a good balance of brown and grey and some shimmers. Apropos (bottom right) is a dark taupe brown with silver glitters. The glitters are very fine, and aren’t noticeable when worn. Of all the shades, I would say this is the driest. Fate (bottom left) is a shimmery brown which I’d say is a good shade in between bronze and burgundy minus the red.

Below are swatches done on my arm, from left to right: Serendipitous, Magnetism, Fate and Apropos.

If you’re a taupe lover, if you like neutrals which aren’t too warm or cool, then this is worth a look. I did a look using this palette previouslyΒ on my Femme Boulevard post, but just for your convenience, here is the picture again.

You can find this palette at Sephora if you’re interested. I’m not sure how much they are, because I bought it online during a sale. Have you tried any bareMinerals eye palettes before?

xoxo Lily

  • I have this palette also and it is one of my favorites! I love how easy it is to use and how incredibly long the shadows last on my lids! LOVE! You wear it well!

    • Thanks Annick. This is very easy to wear indeed! It doesn’t last too long on my lids, but I can still get a good wear out of them πŸ™‚

  • Tracy@Beauty Reflections

It’s pretty! I had a palette but sold it. I found the shadows faded too fast on my oily lids.
Never mind the palette-what lipstick are you wearing on your gorgeous face! πŸ˜‰ It’s so lovely on you!

    • Lipstick? That is Shiseido Perfect Rouge in Sublime. It’s absolutely beautiful!!! You have to try it πŸ™‚

  • Catherine (@bcrueltyfree)

I’ve seen this a few times and each time, it catches my eye. I think this probably will end up being the quad I go for… I’ve been wanting to try one of these new quads but can never decide on which

    • I know what you mean. There are so many different shades to choose from, but I’m a taupe lover and I think this is the easiest to wear. LOL!

  • ohhhh that’s pretty. i love that burnished copper colour.

    • Quite lovely eh? This quad ain’t too bad πŸ™‚

I’ve seen the Bare Minerals eyeshadows at Sephora but they don’t seem to capture my attention as much. That being said, I always love a good neutral / natural eye palette because they are so versatile.

    • I bought this online, having seen some swatches… I saw these at Sephora too! I felt the same, like they were a little underwhelming. I wouldn’t have picked it up at the store, but I’m glad I got it online anyway.

  • Now this is a great every day palette idd! I love how wearable these browns are, noot too cool or too warm. You look so lovely with them, I think it might be one of my favourite looks even!

    • Really? Aww, thanks Teri! This is my go to look. It’s so easy to wear, and it goes with everything πŸ™‚

  • I keep thinking I need a bareMinerals duo/quad, but so far I haven’t made the jump! Really like Magnetism here. I think sooner or later I’ll splurge πŸ˜‰

    • Given it’s a quad, I think it’s quite affordable πŸ™‚ It goes very well with Frivole πŸ˜›

  • Ok I’ve heard SO MANY good things about Bare Mineral’s eyeshadow formula, but I have yet to try because ermmm the packaging is not my favorite. I know. I’m actually the worst hahaha. These shades look beautiful though, especially on your eyes, so mayhaps I will check em out soon πŸ™‚

    • Ditto… I don’t love the packaging, as it reminds me of NARS packaging and I hate that the NARS one melts and gets sticky. LOL! Fingers crossed, this one and the older duo are still ok. You should go have a look. These are really good neutrals!

  • I Love these shades! I’ve heard nothing but great things about Bare Minerals, though I’ve never picked anything up from the brand, except the buxom line of glosses. I’ll have to try them out some time. I especially love the second shade. You wear the, beautifully πŸ™‚

    • Thanks Taylor. I’m not exactly a huge fan of their mineral foundation, but these eye shadows are definitely worth the purchase.

  • The BE shadows are really REALLY good! Buttery and smooth, baby! I love this quad! IT’s something that would get daily use at my house. I have 2 of the BE 8-pan palettes and have yet to be disappointed by the quality. You look lovely in these colors, Lily!

    • Thank you Kristen! I saw the swatches of the 8.0 palettes and they are gorgeous!!

  • Liz

Why is this palette so under the radar?? Looks to me like the best nude shades ever!

    • I first saw it on YouTube and knew I had to have this! It’s versatile and so easy to wear!

  • Lily

This one isn’t bad at all, Abby. You should try this πŸ™‚
