Sunday Stash Shopping #3

I was going through my stash, and found some Bare Escentuals stuff. I forgot about the mineral foundation I had, but I had bought that when my skin was more oily. Now that my skin is more normal, I was wondering how it would fare. Of course, there was this L’Oreal BaseMagique silicone based pore filling primer that I didn’t like much. I decided to give it another try.

I haven’t talked about the bareMinerals foundation before, and maybe I should. I’d like to say that when it is buffed in, it does look very natural. However, it takes time to buff it in. When I’m in a hurry, this is definitely not something I use. I have to take back what I said about the L’Oreal BaseMagique. I said it didn’t do that much, but I’ve been giving it another go, and finally got a hang on how to use it. I PAT IT onto my open pores (by my nose), let it set a little before applying my foundation. It actually DOES help minimize the pores! However, I didn’t use this too frequently for fear it might block my pores or cause breakouts. Fingers crossed, none of that sort happened.

I fill in my brows as usual with my Shu Uemura H9 pencil, and my go to mascara the last 2 weeks was Dior Diorshow Iconic Overcurl (and yes, I realise the name is accidentally shortened in the photo above). I took out The Escape again, and found that it is still one of my most versatile duos. In the photo below, I only use the lighter shade as a wash on my eye lids. The darker shade was used to lightly smudge my lash lines. NARS Orgasm is still one of the most flattering blush on me, despite the overall ‘overratedness’. And then, the lipstick. I have been loving the easy going Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Sandalwood Beige which is a nude that doesn’t wash me out at all. It is a coral tinged beige on my lips, and it adds warmth to my face which complements NARS Orgasm.

So that was my stash shopping edition 3. What have you been appreciating in your stash lately?

xoxo Lily

  • That Revlon lipstick does look very natural! It’s quite pretty. A good nude lipstick is hard to find, imo.

    • I know right? It’s surprisingly flattering, that Sandalwood Beige 🙂

  • You look lovely =D I “shopped” in my stash just yesterday and found so many foundations that would work great for the warmer weather :p

    • Thank you! Ah, you have lots of foundations in your stash too eh? I’m slowly going through them, finding out which ones still work and which ones don’t anymore.

  • Hmm…for me, Bare Minerals didn’t look all that natural =S it looked oddly cakey and shiny. What brush do you use with it? I used the EcoTools Bronzer brush

    • I use it with Real Techniques buffing brush. I find that I have to use a primer with it for it to look better. I still prefer using liquid foundations though. I have mature skin now >.< *cries*

  • Sandalwood Beige is such an interesting shade! I know all too well what you mean by a nude that doesn’t wash you out! I think most of them do, but I can get away with some if there’s enough pink and I’ve got other makeup on. This week I rediscovered Wet n’ Wild Comfort Zone and UD Naked. An organized stash for the win!

    • I have yet to try anything from Wet n Wild but I’ve heard so many good things about it! And it’s really cheap too, right? Oh, UD Naked is definitely THE palette. Which reminds me, I have to bring it out again 🙂 Organized stash is definitely the way to go!

  • The Escape sure does look like a really pretty duo! Your skin looks really good these days, Lily! =) xxx

    • Thanks Sukie. I’ve been taking some supplements, and it has helped a lot 🙂 But I guess you didn’t see the post where I showed all of you the huge zit on my nose huh? Hahaha!

  • Honey

Nars Orgasm sure looks good on you, Lily!

    • Thanks Honey 🙂

  • Tracy@Beauty Reflections

You look so glowy and pretty Lily! I used to use Bare Minerals all the time, and sometimes I miss it!
Love the way NARS Orgasm looks on you! It’s so peachy on you!

    • Thanks Tracy. Yes, Orgasm is more peachy less pink on me. It’s quite lovely how different colours play with different skin tones eh?

  • Liz

Love this natural look! You look great. 🙂

And you’re making me want Bare Minerals shadows so badly. I wanted them a lot last year but managed to resist. Really really don’t need any more eye shadows. >__<

    • Thanks Liz. I know how you feel. Don’t need more but definitely want more. Lol!

  • Lovely look Lily! I do really like the Revlon lipstick on you, very natural and warm 🙂

    • Thanks Taylor 🙂 It’s a lipstick that goes with a lot of things. Easy to use!
