Clinique Chubby Stick Shadow Tint For Eyes in Fuller Fudge

I’ve been wanting to try this for the longest time. Clinique launched their Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes a few months ago, and it has finally reached our shores. I had my expectations before trying these out, because I’ve only read good reviews. However, those reviews are mostly by bloggers living overseas, with weather less hot and humid than ours. So, how did it fare here?

Like Clinique’s Chubby Sticks, these are a twist up mechanism. I love this because it is hassle free, no sharpening needed, and just super easy. The cap closes with a click so you don’t have to worry about throwing this into your handbag and tote it around. The cap won’t come off. I was sent Fuller Fudge, a lightly shimmery warm brown, borderline bronze. These Shadow Tint for Eyes are quite sheer, so if you want the colours to show up more, you’d have to layer them.

As a cream shadow, this texture is surprisingly powdery. It goes on with less slip, and it tugs a little, but it’s not a complaint at all. The colour is smooth and on me, one sheer layer appears a little patchy. I colour my eyes directly from the tube until I reach the intensity I want, then blend out the edges with my ring finger. It is very easy to apply. If I want the colour to be bolder, I just repeat the step. Fuller Fudge looks very natural on me, and I like to wear it with just a swipe of eyeliner and mascara.

Due to its powdery texture, it doesn’t crease on me until the 6th hour and that’s only on my inner eye where the fold of my lid is. This is absolutely amazing! I don’t apply any primer underneath or any eyeshadow on top to set it either. ON ITS OWN, it lasts on my oily lids for 6 friggin’ hours. After that, the colour fades a little, so I’ll just touch up a little. It’s so easy to touch up too. Just swipe, blend with fingers and ta-dah! I’ve been loving this because my eye makeup can last the whole day looking fresh. All because Fuller Fudge lasts and lasts and it’s just so easy to touch up. Photo below is how I wear Fuller Fudge alone, with just a black liner and mascara. For a full FOTD, you can read my previous Sunday Stash Shopping here.

One Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes costs RM60 and there are 8 shades available. It’s affordable, great quality, and I already have my eyes on the light beige and green one. Are you interested?

  • Yay! I just picked one up the other day! Glad to hear it works well on oily lids! Love this colour on you!

    • Thanks Tracy. Can’t wait to read what you think about it!

  • Liz

I have two that need to be tested more thoroughly, but they stay put pretty well with primer. I can’t not prime my eyes, but it might be due to the shape of my eyes/crease rather than oiliness of lids. I like the texture and finish, so Clinique and all their chubby sticks are kind of win for me.

    • Yup, Clinique does chubby quite well 😛 I got my eyes on the beige, green and lilac one!

  • Oh yes, so glad to hear that these stay even on oilier lids! I’m still waiting for them to come out here but they sound so promising! You really got a great shade, I love the finish too, there is just so much to love! ^^

    • Oh, you have to try it once you get them there! And I can’t wait to see what you do with it. You always take beautiful pictures 🙂

  • I’m a big fan of their lip balm chubby sticks. really want to try these out as well, love this color on you!

    • Thanks Krystle for dropping by 🙂 Yes, their chubby sticks for lips are good too. I prefer the intense version though!

  • Parita

Oh my gosh!! this is such a gorgeous everyday wear shade! totally my kind and not that expensive! yaya! m def checking it out 🙂

    • I know right? They’re inexpensive, affordable and extremely wearable. Go try them and let me know what you think!

  • Catherine @ bcrueltyfree

YES, I am most definitely interested. Well, less so in the specific product than the look you created with it. I know I’ve got to have a similar shade somewhere in my stash. I love the idea of using a midtone brown alone really really diffused out like you did, it looks so pretty and sophisticated

    • Aww, thank you Catherine! I think it looks diffused because it does apply sheer 🙂 That, and the shimmery bronzy brown is flattering on many people!

  • Fuller Fudge is so pretty on you, Lily! I swatched these in-store a while ago and liked this one and the Amber something something one the most. I love how quick and easy to use cream pencil eyeshadows are!

    • Thanks Tiffany. We don’t get the Amber something something (LOL! I don’t know the full name either) but I know which one it is. It’s the reddish brown / brownish burgundy thingy right? Haha! I’m a little obsessed with these cream pencil eye shadows now that these work so well. My previous experience with UD shadow pencils was bad, and the MAC grease paint sticks were bleh. Glad these are great 🙂 Itching to try Laura Mercier and Bobbi Brown ones!

  • Hm interesting–I didn’t realize that these had that powdery cream texture. I usually dislike cream formulas like that. But the shade is just so nice and it looks so pretty on you…and 6 hours without primer?!! I have to try these for myself!!

    • You definitely gotta try this. I don’t have very oily lids, but these stay very well. Also, super easy to touch up, so it’s a bonus 🙂

  • Hey Lily, Fuller Fudge looks like a great mistake-proof shade! We’re JUST getting these and I am intrigued, but the two shades I want the most (Lots o’ Latte and Whopping Willow) won’t be available here. I’d like to try the formula first before I go through the trouble of laying my hands on them though.

    • We have Whopping Willow but don’t have Lots o’Latte. I want Bountiful Beige to brighten lids and Whopping Willow looks really good too! I hope you’ll get the shades soon. It’s definitely not as creamy as the cream eye shadows I’m used to, but I like that it sets like powder 🙂

  • Liyana

I swatched this shade and i think it’s beautiful (always reach for the neutral ones). But i was concern about the staying power. And i guess u made it clear already. 🙂
Hmm why are these chubby sticks looks so tempting.

    • You gotta try it!

  • Ahhh! You knwo I wanted to buy this but on one hand, I hadn’t had time to. On the other hand, I was secretly waiting for your full review. Now I got it, I will definitely get this (or some other colour: the green dark blue or pinkish.. I’ll see when I’m there!

    • Awesome! Let me know how it works for you ok? And also tell me which colour you end up with 🙂

      • Hi Lily! I just got one! The shade is called Curvaceous Coal, its like a darkish grey (which can be very sheered out too) and I just put some on, I think the colour is gorgeous! I love grey eyeshadow, but the wrong shade can look so wrong on me. This is just perfect. I have a feeling the wear time will be good. Also, I’m way more into cream shadows than powder shadows.

        • I haven’t swatched Curvaceous Coal before but it sounds lovely!! Glad you like it too 🙂

  • Fuller Fudge looks beautiful on you, I love it applied high on your crease.

    • Such an easy colour to wear too!

  • I have super oily lids, and this wears on me for hours. I would definitely skip primer underneath because it actually makes it hard to apply.

    • Hi Angela, yes I remember your post about these! I don’t wear it with a primer and it’s all good 🙂
