Hah! An Empties Post Since March

I didn’t have any empties for a while, but now, I have collected a few. They’re a combination of skincare and makeup this time, and I’m quite happy to move on and try to use up other stuff.

I have reviewed most of the things here, so I will put up the links to the product reviews. For skincare, we have a Diorsnow mask which I absolutely love. My skin feels so fresh but the price tag is too high. I also used up another mask, the Out Of Trouble mask by Origins. I use this mostly when my skin is misbehaving. Finally, after about a year and a half, it’s gone. I’m looking for another clay mask. Any suggestions?

empties May 2013

After using up the deluxe sample, I bought the full sized Estee Lauder Hydrationist moisturizer. It is great as a light day moisturizer and my skin just soaks it up. Alas, this 50ml tub is emptied. I hate to admit that age might be catching up on me, but this lightweight moisturizer might not be enough anymore. I need something more potent. LOL!

That flat piece of tooth paste like tube is L’Occitane 20% Shea Butter Hand Cream for dry skin. My hands get especially dry when I’m in air conditioned places, so I have this with me to keep my hands comfortable. It took me 2 years to use it up. That shows how diligent I am in applying hand creams >_< It’s the same for body lotions. I just can’t seem to have the persistence to use it daily. I always forget. That said, I vowed to take better care of my hands and body. So, I replenished some 😛

Then, we have 2 tubes of mascaras that dried up, and a sample of Dior One Essential for Eyes. This might be a small sample, but it took me a while to finish it – and I used it every night. The other tube you see is actually Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm. I surprised myself when I found out it was nearly gone. Lip balm? Gone? Me? LOL! That’s the first 🙂

What about you? Did you empty or toss anything lately?

xoxo Lily

I emptied a whole bunch of stuff lately, so much that I could actually write a blogpost about it! (I’m currently contemplating on starting a blog but I’m kinda unsure, any advice?)

To answer your question, my empties for this month are:
Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua – Finally! How often does one get to finish a foundation?
Phyto 7 Daily Hydrating Botanical Cream – Love this and already bought a backup. It is very lightweight and absorb almost instantly, so I’m able to use it whenever my hair needs some TLC!
L’occitane Almond Shower Oil – This had made it to my empty list ingloriously! I did not get to finish the whole bottle, in fact it was still half full when I dropped and broke the bottle. I still can not get over the heartbreak! 🙁
SK II Facial Treatment Clear Lotion – Unlike many other toners in the market, this toner does not contain any alcohol, and I like that. It has also helped me keep my breakouts under control.
Caudalie Beauty Elixir – I thought it was a mehhh product, but I grew to love it. I have a bit of a migraine issue, and I find that the scent is able to make me feel a tad better, especially in such a humid weather!
Biore Eye and Lips Make Up Remover – already lost count on the number of bottles I went through, need I say more?
SK II Facial Treatment Masks – I died a little inside when all the sheets in the box were used up! 🙁 I miss the boing-boing after effect!
L’oreal Total Repair Hair Mask – Just your normal hairmasks, does not have any wow factor, thus will not repurchase.

I guess that’s about all, couldn’t think of anything else, since I’ve already tossed them out. It felt so good to list down all the stuff that I’ve used up, so thank you for letting me post such a long list on your comment section. Although I did that without permission #sorrybutnotsorry XD

Have a great day, Lily! xx

    • Wow! I love long comments. HAHA! I absolutely LOVE Biore’s makeup remover. SKII breaks me out, and I’m not too sure which product exactly. I’m not going to test it again though. Kudos for emptying a foundation! I have 2 bottles of Chanel VLA and I don’t think I’ll be using them up any time soon. Unless of course, I use it exclusively every morning for a few months…

  • Parita

Even i have L’occitaine hand cream which i bought more than a year back and its not even half gone 😀 i dont like to apply hand creams much though i should start applying more often or else my hands are going to age faster than my face LOL

    • Yeah, I have to remind myself all the time. I’m keeping one on my desk (in the office) and I seem to be reaching for it quite often. The air condition sucks all the moisture!

  • That’s a LOT 😀 Took you two years to use up that hand cream? haha, at least you’re done! ^_^

    • Haha, yes. I was just really bad at it, but I’m getting better. I think. LOL!

  • Good job on the empties! I keep forgetting to keep and take pix of the items I finish so I’ve given up chronicling it LOL

    • LOL! I usually put them in a small tray or bag so once I get a good volume, I’ll just take a picture 🙂

  • Way to go, Lily! I used up some stuff recently, including 2 small tubes of L’Occitane hand creams (I have one at home and one in my purse. They ran out at about the same time), Pai Rosehip Oil, and my small sample of Dior Iconic Overcurl (*sobs*)!

    • WOW you’re really good at using hand creams. I gotta learn from you 🙂 Are you going to get a full sized Iconic Overcurl? I’m still using mine. It’s amazing, what it does to my lashes…

  • Liz

Good going! It takes me forever to finish off masks. I’ve yet to find a really great clay mask – I feel like most of them don’t do anything and it’s only the act of conducting a second or third cleanse of the day that benefits the face. I don’t know. I’m using a L’Occitane rice clay mask that was only sold online and might be discontinued now. It’s okay and seems good, but again, I can’t really tell!

    • I read about Eve Lom Rescue Mask… but it’s really pricey. What if it doesn’t work? LOL! Have you tried that? I might just get the 50ml one to try…

  • Whoop. Congrats. I’ve been emptying a lot of facial toners recently. I also used up Living Proof Full Mousse and two lip balms 😉

    • 2 lip balms? Wow! It took me a year to use up this ONE lip balm. LOL! I buy giant sized toners because I use them a lot too 🙂

  • Wow that’s amazing that a hand cream lasted you 2 years, Lily! I use a LOT of hand cream! I wash my hands often and they always feel so tight and uncomfortable afterwards that I am constantly reapplying. For body lotion, I usually only apply after a shower (unless it’s winter) and I still go through a large bottle at least every 3-4 months! 😛

    • LOL! I think the weather plays a huge difference too. I tried applying lotion after shower, but I always work up a sweat and it feels uncomfortable. Imagine damp sweaty skin and lotion. Bad combination. LOL! It’s just the same for hand creams, but I’m getting better now. I leave one in the office and a smaller one in my purse so I remember to use it 🙂

  • Kiss & Make-up

Aaah, an empties post, always fun 🙂 Let’s see, what did I use up. Oh, my Heaven Anti-Age moisturiser, yesterday morning.

    • Yay to using up stuff! So what moisturizer are you using now?

  • Jennifer

I recently emptied the Estee Lauder Hydrationist moisturizer, Pore Refining Serum and ANR. As for Dior, I finished the One Essential Eye serum deluxe sample. Haha, I feel a sense of achievement when I finished my skincare, it is like telling myself, good job lazy bum, you actually applied diligently 🙂 Of course, my wallet will weep when these skincare finish almost the same time >.< Haha, but it is fun to keep a lookout on what to try next right?

    • You’re right. While it is satisfying to use up skincare and makeup, it’s always painful to restock, especially those pricey serums and moisturizers!

      • Jennifer

I am using Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque. It is ok though I cannot pinpoint what is “ok” with it lol. I have oily skin with large pores. I use this one the weekends after scrubbing. It feels good with some tingling sensation but does not dry up my skin. Do consider if you want to try. I have read about the Eve Lom one, but it is pricey though 🙂 If you do find another clay mask gem, do share. Thank you.

        • Ah, I should have a look at this Kiehl’s one. Bet it’s more affordable than the Eve Lom Rescue Mask. Thanks for the rec!

  • Gosh, these empties posts from you and other fellow bloggers really push me. I’ve finished samples and working 1 full-size perfume bottle, 1 lip balm, and 1 deodorant. I make it probably in the next 2 weeks just because I’m using them every single day. I love L’Occitane hand cream, a little goes a long way! I too need to take care of my hands, feet and body more. vowed.

    • LOL Joanne 🙂 I know right? I think it’s a good habit to cultivate though! Good job on finishing a full sized perfume! I’m gonna use up my Kenzo Flower soon too… after 2 years!

  • BooBooNinja

Good job, Lily! Lip balms take me so long to finish. I use them daily, but they don’t seem to shrink. Maybe they’re growing! O_O

    • Growing lip balms. HAHAHAHA! That would be awesome. Just buy one, and you’re set for life. LOL!

  • wan

  • aisha

    • Hi Aisha, goodness, I can’t remember. Bought it a while ago. Sorry!
