Sunday Stash Shopping #6

For this Sunday Stash Shopping, I took some requests. From last week, Larie wanted purple eyes, and Sataa wanted something to pair with plum lips. I thought I could do both of them in one look. I think it turned up quite well. I haven’t been wearing colours much, and this one is quite bold πŸ˜›

face and brows

This week is Bobbi Brown heavy. For the face, I use my beloved Bobbi Brown BB Cream, setting with Dior sculpt powder. I think I’m hitting pan soon πŸ™‚ For a little flush on the cheeks, I used Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Cabo Coral. I filled in my brows using the Bobbi Brown brow kit.

eyes and lips

For the eyes, I used Estee Lauder cream shadow in Smoky Plum as a base before patting Heather on my lids (the ashy purple in my palette). You can refer to the swatches of thisΒ customizedΒ palette here. I used Saddle to darken the outer corner and Velvet Plum on my lower lash line. I brightened the inner corners a little using Beige and placed Bone on my brow bones for a subtle lifted effect. I lined my eyes using Bobbi Brown gel liner in Gunmetal Shimmer Ink and loaded 3 coats of my Dior Iconic Overcurl mascara.

Picture below shows you the placement of the eye shadows.

The lipstick used is Guerlain Gigolo, blotted for a less dramatic look. I think I can walk around the mall in this look, without looking too vampy, don’t you think?

I hope you liked this look! Now, what shall I do for the next instalment? Hhmmm…

  • OOOOOOH I love this, Lily! Smokin’! I need to try to work with my cream shadows some more. I’m terrible with them!

    • I’m glad you like it Larie! I’ve been really bad at using my cream eye shadows too, and I’m contemplating letting them go. I’m going to go through all of them one by one and see which one stays >_<

  • i love that rouge g shade! so pretty! πŸ™‚ and the pretty purple!!

    • Yup, Gigolo is very versatile. It can be dramatic, or blotted down for a berry shade πŸ™‚

GORGEOUS!!Thank you soooo much !! I knew you would come up with an interesting and wearable combination your makeup skills are amazing especially how you pair up different colors . I have similar eye shadow colors in my Sephora palette I will try this today, I hope it looks good on me too.Can I request more looks in future ? I hope you won’t mind actually I am kind of newbie in makeup I am learning different techniques through blogs and YT channels and I like your makeup style it’s very wearable and looks soft. Thanks again, I really appreciate that you created a look on my request.

    • I’ll try to do more looks, Sataa. That was part of my plan for this year anyway, and that’s why there are at least 2 or 3 looks a month. I’m glad you liked the look too! And thanks so much for your kind words πŸ™‚

  • GORGEOUS!! I have to say you’re one of the best at shopping your stash! I like the blotted berry lip too-it really tones down the whole look!

    • Aww, thank you Trakee!! There are lots more I need to use, but haven’t gotten round to using them yet. Why do I even buy more stuff when it’s impossible to use up my existing stash. It’s an epidemic. LOL!

  • Mmm loving the lip! Shall have to check out Gigolo methinks! πŸ˜‰ And the eyes definitely work for day to day!

    • Thanks PB πŸ™‚ I think Gigolo will look good on you too!

  • I’m seriously drooling over this look–I LOVE the purple shadow! I saw when you posted the swatches of the BB palette but somehow, Heather REALLY transforms when it’s on your eyes. In the swatches, I thought it was pretty but I quickly forgot about it. Now, I HAVE to have it! πŸ˜€

    • Thank you Becca! Yes, Heather is great. It can also be used on your crease to add definition! I remember you love purples πŸ™‚ Maybe I should do one that combines blue based purple and red based purple without looking bruised πŸ˜› One day…

  • Nida Moughal

    Very nicely Done!

    • Thank you Nida!

  • Ahh!! This is so, so pretty, Lily — I love the look. Heather looks absolutely to die for on your lids! <3

    • Thank you Rae πŸ™‚ I think Heather will look great on your lids too!

  • Catherine @ bcrueltyfree

The custom palette looks so tempting… I used to be a bit obsessed with depotting everything to create my own palettes, there’s something so fun about it haha. You look super healthy and beautiful!

    • I used to be obsessed with depotting too! So much that I regret it sometimes. LOL!

  • Gorgeous, Lily! Absolutely love this look you created for your eyes! You look fabulous in purple shadows!

    • Thank you Kristen!

  • Love this purple eye makeup. The lip color isn’t something I usually wear, but it goes really well with the entire look.

    • You can switch the lip colour to something nude or coral and it would look just as pretty πŸ™‚

  • liyeun

Omg omg omg, too much prettiness and hawtness to handle!!!! I really envy how the Gigolo and cabo coral turned a lil pinky on u… hahaha… that said, many ppl dont get it when ladies pair purple shadows with pinky, berry/fushchia lippies. I think the combi is just too pretty!!! At least I love it! Hehehe

    • Thanks so much Liyuen! I think we can pull off anything as long as it’s not too garish. The only thing we need is some confidence! πŸ˜€

  • Claire

I love the last picture of you πŸ™‚ I like how the purples look on you and that lipstick looks delicious <3

    • Thanks Claire! I love Gigolo πŸ™‚

  • Lovely smokey taupe purple EOTD. Your Bobbi Brown products look gorgeous… Your lip colour is not vampy at all… more like a pop of fuchsia – very pretty.

    • Thanks for dropping by Beauty Box, and thank you so much for your kind words πŸ™‚

  • The lipstick color you’re sporting is beautiful!!! very vibrant =)

    • Thank you Rainy Days & Lattes πŸ™‚

  • Liz

You look so pretty! I was never a fan of that sort of lip shade but recently tried a similar colour from Clarins and now love it. I also love seeing all the dips in your makeup – clearly they’re well appreciated. πŸ™‚

    • Thanks Liz. This SSS series really made me dig into my stash, and I’m glad I started it. Made me realize there are still many more in my junk pile that I haven’t really appreciated!

  • I love this duo! The lipstick is so gorgeous on you. You can definitely wear color well.

    • Thanks Taylor πŸ™‚
