Dior Birds Of Paradise Feather and Parati

I have 2 Diorshow Mono Eye Shadows here, both of which are limited edition from the Birds of Paradise collection. One I find is very wearable, while the other is more dramatic. This is going to be a brief review, because I’ve talked about these eye shadow textures before, and the ones featured here are no different.

Parati is a bright cobalt blue while Feather is a muted minty teal green. Parati is matte while there is a slight sheen on Feather. Both colours apply more pigmented when wet, and Feather seems to work better than Parati. The reason is, Parati is very pigmented, and for such a bright and bold shade, it’s easier to make mistakes. Both go on smoothly, and even when used dry, they are not patchy or difficult to blend. I find that Parati blends out a little muddy on my eyes, but other than that, I don’t have much complaints.

Here are both the wet and dry swatches, and you would notice that the colours are much brighter when applied wet.

Here is how they look on my eyes. I wore them as a single colour on my lids, and when worn like this, Feather is easier to apply. It was tricky trying to get Parati to look good on its own. I’m afraid I’m lacking some skills. I can’t seem to get it to look even… a little patchy here and there. I prefer using Parati as a liner, because man, it pops and makes my eyes look whiter!

Have you seen these or tried them? Which one do you prefer?

xoxo Lily

These are really fun colours but I rarely buy solo shadows. Feather is especially pretty on your eyes!

    • Feather is very pretty. I like palettes too, but I do cave on some monos when a certain shade is especially beautiful ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Parati! HOLY I LOVE it!! What a great blue on you! I think I need that one!

    • Parati is a bold one ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m a little unsure about that particular shade, but I do love how it looks as a liner!

  • I rarely buy solo shadows, too, but sometimes, if one calls to me…! I have a bright blue pan, but that murky teal is quite lovely!

    • I can just imagine Feather on you. You wear greens really well, and I’m sure this is no exception ๐Ÿ™‚

  • I love Parati, the shimmer is beautiful. I can imagine using this as a beautiful accent.

    • Parati is definitely great as an accent colour ๐Ÿ™‚ The blue makes eyes look so much whiter!

  • Sue

I love the Parati as i prefer bold colours. The Feather looks a bit muted for my taste.
    Both look great on you!

    • Hi Sue, thanks for dropping by. You should definitely go check out Parati. It’s even bolder in real life!

  • Super pretty! I still haven’t tried these new monos yet but I should be receiving Tweed (FINALLY got my hands on it!!! :D) fairly soon. Sooo excited! ๐Ÿ˜€

    • Oh! Tweed looks great, Becca ๐Ÿ™‚ Can’t wait to hear what you think!

  • Oh gorgeous! Both are so nice. I would get brown contacts just to be able to wear Feather the way you did. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • What colour are your eyes? I’m curious now ๐Ÿ™‚

  • I have Feather and I really should try to use it wet! It makes a HUGE difference!

    • Oh, you should, Sunny. It’s so much more interesting wet!

  • I just adore how the dark blue one looks on you Lily!

    • Thanks Sofia ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Both of the shades are gorgeous and they look so beautiful on you. I think wet shades look more prettier than the dry shades.

    • I agree, Emma. The colours definitely look better wet ๐Ÿ™‚

  • I never thought of using blue eyeshadow as eyeliner! I have a similar cobalt blue eyeshadow colour but I never knew what to do with it.

I really like Dior eyeshadows but I never have bought a mono cause I don’t think I would finish it all up! Feather looks so pretty, I’m really into that shade of greens lately.

    • Hi Whitney, thanks for dropping by ๐Ÿ™‚
What I like to do is dip a wet angled brush into the eyeshadow and draw it as I would an eye liner. Then, I’d use a black liner to apply a very thin line to add definition. It’s a very pretty look. You should try it! I love Dior monos for this because they can be used both wet or dry. The best part is, the eye shadow doesn’t harden after it is used wet!

I think you should keep playing with Parati, because it should enter your regular makeup rotation. The colour is amazing with your brown eyes and complexion.

    • Thanks Boo ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ll just stick to using it as a liner or on weekends. It’s a bit too bright for a work day!

  • I wouldn’t ever buy these myself, but Parati looks AMAZING on you!!! Curious to see how this performs as a liner ๐Ÿ™‚

    • I’ll wear it as a liner one day and put the photo up just for you ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Jennifer

I love how Feather looked on you ๐Ÿ™‚ So beautiful and alluring.

    • Thank you Jennifer. Feather is a very wearable shade. I think it just about suits any eye colour ๐Ÿ™‚
