Do eye shadows crease on your eye lids? Do you find it difficult to make your eye shadows last? Do you use primers before your eye shadow application? I admit I’m sometimes lazy when it comes to applying eye primers. I’ve only used 3 eye primers before. There’s a Benefit one which was a pain to pump, and it turned bad in less than a year. So bleh. Then, there’s the Urban Decay Primer Potion which everybody swears by. I like the original version and I think the original one performs best. And then, there’s this: NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base. I never knew what the fuss was about until I tried it.
The NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base comes in a slim tube not unlike a lip gloss. It even has a doe foot applicator! This eye primer is white but it applies transparent. I like to dab it on my lids, and there is no drying time. I can apply eye shadow almost immediately and there wouldn’t be any problem with blending. I notice the colours are more vibrant, and they STAY. I have double eye lids, and my lids fold at the inner corner. So, most eye shadows will crease there after a few hours. However, when I use this primer, there is no creasing. I thought I was dreaming. This couldn’t be. This can’t be!! I tried again with different types of eye shadows, and I KID YOU NOT. They stay on, gorgeous and fresh as ever, for at least 8 hours.
For me, this is just awesomeness in a tube!
I used to skip eye primers because I couldn’t be bothered with extending the eye shadow life for just an hour or two, but with this, I get fresh looking eye makeup even by the end of a work day. My lids feel really smooth and silky after applying this primer, and I think it must be the silicones. If you’re allergic to this ingredient, then you have to unfortunately avoid this, but if you’re cool with it, this is great for oily lids.
NARS will be in Malaysia this year end, so you can check it out when it opens at Pavillion KL. I got mine online and I am really happy with it. This one is definitely a keeper, and if you haven’t tried it, you really should 🙂
