Does Anyone Dislike The LORAC Pro Eye Palette?

I can’t remember when I first saw this palette. I’ve been reading lots about it this year and they’ve been all great reviews. I haven’t tried anything from Lorac before so this is my first experience. Let me tell you that I have nothing different to say. It’s true what you’ve read, it’s true what I’ve read.

I did expect the palette to be larger, but it comes in a slim rubber like casing, not unlike Bare Minerals eyeshadows or the NARS packaging. Fingers crossed this won’t melt like the NARS one. The eye shadow pans are smaller than expected too, but for 16 shades, I have no complaints. I’ve never hit pan on eye shadows before, so maybe these little ones will help me break that curse? LOL! There are 8 shades per row, with the top row carrying mattes and the bottom row carrying shimmers. The eye shadows are very buttery in texture. I have to be careful not to press too hard because the eye shadows are quite soft too. A little goes a long way because the pigments pack a punch or ten.

What I love about this palette is that it can carry me from day to night, from subtle neutrals to dramatic smokes. Some mattes I’ve encountered are stiff and ashy but these are amazing. All the shades go on smoothly and the best thing is, I can wear them for about 5 hours without an eye primer. Then, I see signs of creasing on my folded lid, that’s about it. This palette also comes with a miniature eye primer and it does prolong the eye shadow life to about 8 hours on my lids. That’s really good, in my opinion. I have normal to oily lids, but not so oily that everything melts. If you have super oily lids, then I suggest putting on a primer. These eye shadows blend like a dream, without turning muddy or being ‘eaten up’ by the brush. I really don’t have anything bad to say about this palette other than the fact that it’s not available in Malaysia. Thanks Joyce for helping me to purchase this 🙂

I created a very basic look using this palette. I used Champagne all over my lid, Espresso to darken the outer corners and Taupe to blend it out. I used Black as a liner – pressing it very close to my lash lines. Oh, I also love the names. No guessing what shade it is.

look2 look1

Isn’t it so wearable? Do you want me to create more looks with this palette? Let me know and I’ll oblige 🙂 Do you have this palette? If I was just starting out at makeup, I think this palette is enough to take me everywhere. Another fact, I also love the fact that the Light Pink shade is not really that pink. I hate pink eye shadows. LOL!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, you have one! Hurray! 🙂

Honestly, this was one of my best purchases ever. If you hit pan, BUY ANOTHER. Espresso + Gold is my favourite combination right now. I love what you did here! Pewter is my favourite solo shade but I want to work Garnet now since it’s fall and all. WOOHOO!

    • Garnet definitely caught my attention. I have a thing for reddish eye shadows at the moment. I doubt I’ll hit pan, but a girl can try! LOL! And yes, I can imagine how beautiful Espresso + Gold is!!

  • liyeun

The gold and the garnet colours swoon me over! Why cant other brands make unique eye palettes with the combination of both colours? I saw Dior Holiday makeup from the web and I got so depressed.

    • The photos of Dior Holiday didn’t get me excited either, but it might be a different story in real life? Heh 😛 Gold and Garnet are amazing shades, Liyuen!

  • Catherine @ bcrueltyfree

I loveeeee the look you created! Soo pretty and natural. I also haven’t seen anything but raves about this palette. “gold” is too pretty

    • Thanks Catherine. Gold is really gorgeous. It looks foiled, like liquid gold!

  • YASSSS! I want looks like nobody’s business! This is the palette I have been lusting over for several months and just mentioned to Tracy last night that it will be my next purchase, so imagine my sheer delight to see your timely review today! The look you created is utterly fab! I am so happy you love it b/c if you didn’t, I would seriously consider that maybe it’s not all that and a jar of pickles! YAY! I am obsessed with Garnet! I’d love to see you do a look with that beaut. I should be fined for overuse of the exclamation mark in this comment, lol!

    • Definitely get it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Garnet is one of my favourite shades too, it’s ridiculous 😛

  • i’m amazed they used plain English for the names! i guess Pro doesn’t need fancy words!
i tend not to buy eyeshadow palette consisting of more than five colors, but i can certainly see this is a great basic!
your eye makeup looks awesome. sophistication!

    • Thanks Lena 🙂 The names definitely minimized headaches. I can think of so many looks using just this palette, it’s awesome!

  • LOVE it! I have this one and it is freakin’ amazing. Like Liz said, probably one of the best things I ever bought!

    • Tracy approved! Can’t go wrong there 🙂

  • gin

Where is the nearest place/ online we can get this? ???

    • Hi Gin, I sometimes purchase through sgDrugstore when there’s a spree. I think there’s a Sephora spree now, so you should check it out.

  • hehe thanks for linking me! 🙂 I am glad you are loving it!!! You make me kinda want this now lol. ALSO that look is SO good. I want that on my face. Lol

    • And I’m sure you can re-create the look, Joyce! I didn’t expect to love this palette so much, but there are just so many possibilities with it!

  • I so want this one badly! especially for Garnet shade! its stunning

    • Get eeeeet!!! LOL!

  • Love this look ! I have been looking everywhere for a purple smokey eye that would look good with my hazel eyes. You are gorgeous by the way. 🙂

    • Thanks Emma <3

  • I love my pro palette so far! The colors are beautiful, and so buttery in texture, that they’re a dream to apply! I like the variety of shades.

    • Oh I agree. Very buttery in texture 🙂

  • Looks like a lovely palette! I actually have a Lorac palette from a while ago. Haven’t taken it out to use in ages, so thanks for reminding me of it 🙂

    • Oh, I’d love to hear what you think. I wonder if they’re of the same quality…

  • Hey Lily, it looks like a great palette and I love the look you created with it! Very classic indeed! Isn’t it nice to finally see a palette with a balance of shimmery and matte shades?

    • Yes it is, Sunny. I love that there are both mattes and shimmers, and they’re of amazing quality 🙂

  • Charlotte

I LOVE THIS PALETTE!! Actually i was drawn to this palette coz of the pink XD <3 <3 <3

    • Light Pink? I love that it’s actually a very subtle pink. Heh 🙂 Otherwise, I probably won’t be using that shade much >_<

  • Oh the colors are gorgeous and I love the mix of matte and shimmer! Love the look you created. There are at least 5 shades I wouldn’t use (the light ones) but would looove Garnet and Pewter. 🙂

    • The light shades are great for highlight, Helene… and great choices! Garnet and Pewter are beautiful 🙂

  • Man, I want one T_T I have so many palettes but this one just seems so amazing!

    • Oh gosh, I have no reason to purchase another eye shadow, but this one just caught my heart <3

  • Ahhh, so glad you have this and love it too! Such an amazing palette 🙂 You look beautiful, by the way!

    • Thanks Tiffany. I’m so glad I got this. Great palette!
