Now You See It, Now You Don’t – Empties Again!

Here’s another batch of products all used up to the last drop. I reviewed some of them so I’ll put up a link to the reviews, and for those I haven’t talked about before, I’ll briefly talk about what I feel about them. If you want a more in depth review, please let me know and I’ll see what I can do 🙂

  • Dior Vernis 782 Silver Purple – this is my first ever Dior nail polish and it’s really old. The texture has become really thick and impossible to brush on smoothly, so it’s time to say goodbye. It’s a gorgeous vampy purple though.
  • Gucci Envy Me EDT 30ml – this is a gift from a relative and my first fragrance emptied! My faves are my Gucci II and Chanel Mademoiselle, and at the rate I’m going, Gucci II might be gone soon!
  • Lancome Softening Hydrating Toner Alcohol Free – this is a fuss free toner that soothes and hydrates my skin. It has a calming scent, and it leaves my skin soft and comfortable. This 400ml lasted me about 6 months of daily and nightly use.
  • Bioderma Sebium H2O Micelle Solution for Combination or Oily Skin – some say this is not as good as Sensibio, and I have to say the only difference I feel is that this leaves a film of something on my skin. I feel better washing my face after using this to remove makeup while Sensibio felt comfortable.
  • Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution for Sensitive Skinreviewed here.
  • Dior Diorsnow Anti-Spot Repairing Creme (night) – reviewed here
  • Murad Resurgence Hydrating Tonerreviewed here
  • Murad Pomegranate Cleanser (not pictured), review as above. My sister in law kept the empty bottle because of the foaming pump
  • Murad Environmental Shield Advanced Active Radiance Serum 5ml x 2, review as above
  • Biore Cleansing Oil-in-Cotton (10 sheets) – I don’t use cleansing wipes to remove makeup because I never used any good ones before. I find this one to be very effective, even in removing waterproof mascaras but I only use this to remove my makeup before I go to the gym. After I go home, before bed, I still cleanse my face all over again. Yeah, I’m very particular about having traces of makeup on my face before skincare. I’ve been going through a few of these, so I’ll be picking up the jumbo pack which is more cost effective.

What have you used up lately? I think it’s great to see all these things go and looking back at all my empties post, it’s safe to say I don’t just buy and hoard (when it comes to skincare anyway). I do use all those things, so at least I’m not spending unnecessarily. LOL! If I sound like I’m justifying my skincare junkie habits, I am. Haha!

I have a few items I’m letting go, so do check out the blog sale 🙂

xoxo Lily

  • Nice! It’s a good feeling when you use something up! I’ve just finished a night serum that I LOVE and already have a backup!

    • I must have serums in my routine. I think I’m addicted to how potent they are >_<

  • Ting

Well done on finishing the perfume! 😀

My first bottle of perfume that I used up was Narciso Rodriguez For Her (the pink bottle). I bought it using my first proper work (like… grown up job) salary. I think that was my signature scent in the office. I want to get another bottle but when I look at all others sitting in my fridge…. they do deserve some loving too, don’t they? :p

    • Others definitely deserve some loving. I never thought of putting the perfumes in the fridge though. I don’t think my in laws will understand. LOL!

  • OOO this reminds me: I need a new little bottle of Bioderma because mine is almost gone! I have used up some mascaras recently. Well not necessarily used up all the way, but they’ve been around for too long for my eyes’ good 😉

    • I don’t think I ever used up a mascara, Sunny. LOL! Maybe they dried up, and that’s about it. Oh, of course, once they make my eyes itch, they’re in the bin

  • Me it’s always cleansers. I’ve finished my Caudalie Foam and Marcelle micellar water and will be looking for replacements but with other brands. Not because I didn’t like them but for review purposes. I think I too am pretty good about using up skincare before buying more. 🙂

    • LOL! The blogger’s syndrome. I know I have a curious nature, but I do want to try other brands just because I can talk about it too. Hahaha!

  • Liz

I can’t believe you get to LEGIT throw out a nail polish! I’ve never had a bottle go beyond the point of repair for me. *imagines all my Diors dying* @________@ !!!

Gucci Envy Me was one of my faves during my 20s. Gave the bottle away to my cousin when I moved on to other perfumes. 🙂

    • I know right? I don’t have many nail polishes because I don’t buy them much. I don’t paint my nails often enough. That said, I would cry if my Dior Saint Tropez died 🙁

  • Catherine @ bcrueltyfree

Woohoo for empties! Always a good feeling. I’m pretty good with using up skincare, but it’s makeup I want to use up. And not the makeup that I use up anyway (like foundation, mascara), but the really hard stuff to make a dent in, like bronzer and blush and non-everyday eyeshadows

    • I know what you mean, Catherine. I can’t use up makeup at all! Well, I did hit pan on 2 powders and that’s about the only thing I can use up. Pressed powders or powder foundation. Others? Erm… let’s not be too ambitious. LOL

  • WOOOT GO YOU FOR ALL THE EMPTIES! You know…I actually have no idea what I’ve emptied lately LOL, everything gets tossed in the trash as soon as I’m done. Sharing an apartment doesn’t leave much room for extra stuff. I definitely go through skincare super quickly though!

    • Hey MM. Going through skincare means we really take care of our skin, eh? LOL!

  • I’m glad I found Bioderma Sebium . I love this because it really helped to clear up my skin. I use it almost every day and when I need something a little lighter I use H2O marine toner in between days.

    • Glad to know it works for you, Emma 🙂

  • As a firm believer in Lancome I have been using this product since I was thirteen, I have always loved the way it made my skin feel after cleansing and especially in summer when it’s hot at night!

    • WOW! You started using Lancome when you were 13? You started skincare young 🙂 Lancome has been a hit or miss for me. I love that I can find a great foundation shade match but their skincare doesn’t do much for me, other than toners >_<

  • lol i was just thinking yesterday that I at least use up all the skincare i buy EVENTUALLY. even if it does take a while. That’s more than I can say for my makeup and perfume! and nail polish lol. So good job on the nail polish and perfume 🙂

    • Ah, but the nail polish kinda died. LOL! Is that counted?
