Bobbi Brown dedicated a little collection to smokey eyes. I think it’s one of my favourite eye looks. I just smoke the heck out of my pencil liners. It’s great when I’m in a rush because I can be messy and I’d still look on trend. LOL! For this Smoking Hot collection, Bobbi Brown introduces Smokey Eye Mascara and Smokey Eye Kajal Liners. “This season’s smokey eye is all about mega lashes and richly pigmented liner” – Bobbi Brown
The Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara (RM105) volumizes and separates my lashes. It doesn’t do much in lengthening and the one sent to me is not waterproof. There was a bit of a learning curve because the brush is larger than the one I’m using which is tapered. Once I’ve gotten used to it, it works great. I find that the formula clumps a little, so I used the trick that Wayne Goss shared the other day. I use a tissue to wipe the wand before applying on my curled lashes. WORKS GREAT! No clumping and there was still enough product to coat my lashes beautifully.
The Smokey Eye Kajal Liners (RM90) come with a sharpener and when one end is the pencil, the other end is a sponge smudger. The smudger works when you use it gently. If you use your Hulk strength, you might rub off the product. The kajal liners aren’t as soft and creamy as others I’ve tried. The good news is that they don’t break easily, but the bad news is they don’t glide on like butter. Win some lose some. I don’t really have a problem with pencil liners smudging on me, so I can’t exactly tell you if these will. They last the whole 8 hours on me and I haven’t worn longer than that.
I have created a look using these 3 products. I use Jade on my upper and lower lash lines, and Noir on my waterline. Then, I applied 3 coats of the Smokey Eye Mascara to show you that the formula doesn’t clump.
I love the green because it’s a darker mysterious shade. What can I say? I love darker shades 🙂 What do you think? Have you tried this mascara or the kajal liners?
