My First Rouge Bunny Rouge Eye Shadows

I’ve had it. Everybody raves about Rouge Bunny Rouge products especially their eye shadows and blushes. Rouge Bunny Rouge this, Rouge Bunny Rouge that. There’s only so much I can take before I want one (or some, or all) myself. There was a flash sale on Luxola (affiliated) a few weeks back, and I bought these two eye shadows that I’ve been drooling over. They are Abyssinian Catbird and Bohemian Waxwing.

RBR eye shadows come in a black round plastic case with individual mirrors. I guess the mirrors work when you’re on a pinch but I’m not used to such small ones. I need to see my whole face even when I’m working on my eye shadow because I’m a narcissist. Do you know that Abyssinian Catbirds and Bohemian Waxwings are birds? I’m not very familiar with the RBR brand but from the names, I believe the line of eye shadows is based on the theme of birds. Do any of you know more about this? I find it intriguing. I googled pictures of these birds and find that the colour of the eye shadows come from the specific bird. Go on and find out yourself. Google it!

Abyssinian Catbird is a bronze khaki on me. On my lids, it looks more golden and definitely more green. Bohemian Waxwing is a purpley taupe which looks a little more brown on my lids. However, these are complex shades which change with different lighting. The texture of these eye shadows are amazing. They glide on and apply like cream. There are no speckles of eye shadow caught on your cheeks and the colours are very pigmented. I can easily apply with brushes or fingers and they’d go on just as smoothly. The eye shadows are easy to blend without jeopardizing the vibrancy of the shades. In short, these are tip top quality eye shadows. I’m curious to find out if all the other shades are just as superb, and there’s only one way to find out. This RBR eye shadow family will only be getting bigger 😛

If you haven’t tried these Rouge Bunny Rouge eye shadows, don’t bother waiting. They’re GOOD. If you’re already a fan, what shade is your favourite? What shade shall I put on my wishlist?

  • interesting. delicate hummingbird, eclipse eagle and snow egret! all birds’ name, now i see!
love the bohemian waxwing swatch color. quite complex! 🙂

    • I know right? I have an urge to collect all, but that would be indulging too much. LOL!

  • Boheminan Waxwing is a serious beauty & of the two the one who would suit me best. Lucky you, so far I’ve never tried RBR e/s, hoping I will soon.

    • I hope you’ll try it soon too! It took me quite a while, and now I think, what was I waiting for? haha!

  • Yess I’m glad you finally tried some RBR! I own both of these and they’re just really really good! I also have Eclipse Eagle and Olive Violetear, and I’m sure I’ll gradually add more to my collection 🙂

    • I know, YAY!! Finally!! Definitely adding more to the family… slowly though

  • Liz

Gah, they are gorgeous! I can’t wait to see the looks you do with them. Some day I’ll get some RBR. SOME DAY!

    • I’ll definitely be showing you guys how it looks worn on the eyes. I’ve been so busy lately, even late in replying comments!

  • Catherine @ bcrueltyfree

AHH I’m dying, how beautiful! Both of these are ones I picked out in the past… just didn’t actually follow through with the order. If I saw them on a sale site, I’d definitely buy them

    • Oh you should… you’ll then be addicted and order some more. LOL!

  • Yay! I knew you would love them! I’m pretty much a big fangirl of the whole brand and I already bought some more and more. It’s one of the few brands that I really feel the need to have almost every single colour of, lol! Love your picks too, They are both very interesting shades and the cool thing is that they look so different on everyone!

    • Ah, I know what you mean. I also bought the blush (Starina) and I absolutely love it!! I think I’ll be sucked in to buy all the blushes first. Hahahah!

  • Both are pretty! I wish they were available closer to me though!

    • They’re not available here either. That’s the beauty of online shopping, girl!

  • Yesssss, succumb 😀

Your first picks are very similar to mine — AbCat and Solstice Halcyon (this was before BW was released) and now I have a big Z-palette full of RBR depots, not to mention pretty much all the loose glitter pigments 😀

    • Oh trust me, Kate. I went through ALL your posts on RBR, eye shadows AND blushes 😛

  • i don’t think i knew they were birds?? lol. my first two RBR eyeshadows just arrived earlier this week. Can’t wait to use them! hehe maybe today I will. I got the refill pans though, but now I’m wondering why I didn’t just get the singles? Now i’ll have to buy the RBR cases lol cause i always like a brand’s original packaging. Guh!

    • Oh I can’t wait to hear what you think about them! I was thinking maybe I should’ve gotten the refills only. Then I could get all the shades and just put them in a Z-palette or something 🙂

  • I’ve been waiting out for I don’t know exactly what.. I want to try RBR so bad! Mainly the eyeshadows, I’m afraid of getting any foundation products because of my tricky pale skin.

I think I’ll treat myself to a duo eyeshadow pan for Christmas 😉

    • I can’t buy foundation sight unseen either. Also, try the blushes. I have Starina and it’s gorgeous!

  • Wow! The RBR folks know how to name an eyeshadow!! Damn! These both look beautiful!

I have no idea how I missed this comment, and how I found it like, just now. LOL! But yes, RBR has really good eye shadows. The downside of my situation is, I have too many eye shadows 😛
