Sunday Stash Shopping #16

Truthfully, I haven’t really been doing much makeup. I’m stuck in a rut where I just apply concealer, set with powder, fill in brows, mascara, blush and lipstick. That’s about it. I guess the morning rush has LOTS to do with it! Today, I just want to show you what I wore last night to my sister in law’s wedding dinner. My hair was done by a lady who came to our house. She even curled Chloe’s and Ashlyn’s hair. Overpriced, but convenient.

I wore a maroon-ish and rose gold dress and gold shoes. I painted my nails dark red, and was debating to wear dark lips until I remembered how lazy I was to touch up my makeup. So, I went with nude lips. If I ate all my lipstick during dinner, I’d still have nude lips. Hahaha! I just got my Chanel Charming palette, so I decided to give it a whirl. I wanted something more dramatic for the eyes, so I added some false lashes. I HATE the feeling of false lashes on my eyes, but just for the night, I’m willing to be patient. I can’t understand how some can wear falsies day in day out. *salute*! Of course, it does make helluva difference, especially on my short Asian lashes. For blush, I used Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge Cabo Coral as base before popping on Rouge Bunny Rouge Starina blush. For the lips, I used my go to nude – Clinique Curviest Caramel. And here is the final look.

I hope you liked today’s entry! Been crazy busy lately, but I’m glad I’m able to show you this look. Some of you might have previewed this on Instagram. If you like more live updates, add me on your Instagram too! User name is lily_chloeash. There will be another dinner next weekend, but I’ll be staying at the hotel, and we all know how great their lighting is. I’ll try to take decent / passable pictures so that I can also show you what I wear. I’ll be wearing a grey / silver dress. What makeup do you suggest? Smokey eyes again or crisp liner and dark lips?

xoxo Lily

  • Gorgeous, Lily! I know what you mean about falsies – they make a crazy difference, but I can’t be bothered unless it’s a REALLY special occasion (like my own wedding – that’s about it, LOL). You look beautiful! And dI hear you about the lipstick, lol! I love wearing reds and vampies, but sometimes it’s nice to not have to worry about touch ups.

    • Thanks Larie. There’s another dinner next week, and I’m thinking I should change up the look… but the thought of wearing a darker lipstick and eating. Hhmmm…

  • Hi Lily,
I really think that you look fabulous in that look.Love the smokey eye look you created and I know how you feel about falsies. It could be somewhat uncomfortable but it makes a difference when I put the effort to wear it šŸ™‚

    • Hey girl, definitely a HUGE difference with falsies on, but I have an ex colleague who wears it every day to work. In fact, she said she won’t go anywhere without falsies on. Hahahaha! I guess when you’re used it, falsies are as comfortable as contact lenses? LOL!

  • You look gorgeous! šŸ™‚ The falsies really do make a difference, and like you, I really salute those who can wear them all day, every day. x_x Wish you could show us your dress, it looks too pretty to just have a peek like that! XD

    • Hahaha Laura. We had professional photographers to take photos for the night. Maybe if I can get my hands on them, I’ll show it to you guys šŸ™‚

  • Liz

You look stunning! I was wondering what the occasion was when I saw your Instagram photos. šŸ™‚

And Chanel Charming – OMG. I want it so badly and have no justification for it. I wasn’t impressed with the tester I swatched but it’s so pretty regardless. X____X

    • Thanks Liz. Chanel Charming is not as pigmented as Urban Decay or Dior, but I do like how they put together the palette. Much better than their baked quads, that’s for sure. It IS very pretty, and no regrets getting it šŸ™‚

      • MJ

you are tempting me to buy this Chanel Charming. wow, can also be used as an eyebrow powder. which Dior pallete is more pigmented? if I am newbie in eye makeup, which neutral eye pallete would you recommend I get for an everyday basic smoky eye look? I wish I could doll up my eyes like you do … so very pretty

        • Hey MJ, if you’re looking for a neutral eye palette, I’d recommend the Lorac Pro Eye Palette. It can take you from day to night, from minimalistic to dramatic šŸ™‚

  • GORGEOUS LIly! Love your whole look!

    • Thank you Tracy!

  • Very very pretty look Lily! absolutely loving the blush and lip combo! its perfect!

    • Thanks Parita <3

  • Um, is it just me or have you gotten about a million times hotter since I’ve been away? (not that you weren’t stunning before but jeez woman, this photo of you is SO va-va-voom!!! :D). I truly love everything about this look–definitely one that I (try to) whip up every time I go out at night. Simple but sultry! Love the falsies you chose. Oh and WHY do I still not own Curviest Caramel?? MUST HAVE!!!

    • Gosh Becca, you’re a sweet talker! LOL! And yes, Curviest Caramel – why don’t you have it again?

  • Jennifer

Looking great and fabulous Lily! I love the simple make up and again, you always have the nicest eye make up šŸ™‚ If looks could kill, I am sure many would be willing for you šŸ˜‰

    • Aaw, thanks so much for the compliment, Jennifer šŸ™‚

  • Oh pretty!!! I think it’s smart to go with darker eyes and a nude lip, since you are indeed bound to eat all the lipstick throughout dinner! Although, if you find one that stains beautifully, maybe it’ll work too!

    • I’m thinking of Luxure for the dinner this Saturday. This one stains beautifully without the unsightly lip ring. Problem is, my glass will be stained with the red lipstick thoroughly. Hahaha!

  • Stuck in a rut and still filling in eyebrows? High five! I can’t even be bothered with the eyebrows most mornings.. I know, I know..

Love the look, the nude lips work perfectly šŸ™‚ I’m following you on IG now!

    • Thanks Isabelle šŸ™‚

  • You look truly divine! I am flailing over your stunning dress and silky hair and perfect bone structure!

(Also tried falsies this weekend — ended up going home with them as a nifty moustache as usual)

    • You always manage to make me laugh, Kate. Moustache. Hahahaha! And thanks for the compliments – I’m just really photogenic. I’m definitely more plain Jane in real life.

  • you look glamorous and sophisticated at the same time! nude lips are a very good choice (and smart!) šŸ˜‰

    • Thanks Lena. Nude lips = no hassle!

  • This is such a gorgeous look on you Lily!!! Love everything and your dress seems stunning. Charming hey? This is definitely on my list!

For next week, my take is you should probably go with dramatic eyes again and nudish lips since you may not have the opportunity to reapply just as Sunny suggested. That’s what I used to do. šŸ™‚

    • Oh thanks for the suggestion. I’m still debating – because I do love some statement lips. Hahahaha!

  • Your look is so sexy and adorable at the same time! I vote for smokey eye for the next party. I LOVE smokey eyes. And you made a point here about the nude lip being nude once you eat, hehe. xx

    • Thanks Sofia. Yeah I think smokey eye is the way to go again!
