This look is inspired by @Lisa_Eldridge’s latest video – Old Hollywood Inspired Party Look With Vintage Golds. While I was watching it, I was already thinking how I’d do it on my own features. I just featured the Bobbi Brown Old Hollywood eye palette, and it’s perfect for this look! To watch Lisa’s tutorial on YouTube, click here.

For the eyes, I used Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Sunlight Gold all over the lid as a base. Sunlight Gold is already quite shimmery, so all I needed was to gently pat on Gold sparkle eye shadow. All eyeshadows used were from the Old Hollywood palette. To add a little definition, I used Beige on the hollow of my eye socket and Chocolate Bronze on my lower lash line. Ivory was perfect to highlight the brow bones too :-) That’s it for the eyes. Quite simple, isn’t it? I used MAC gel liner in Blitz & Glitz to tightline and a few coats of my Diorshow Iconic Overcurl mascara. Some lashes would make my eyes look bigger and lashes more defined, but if you’re a regular reader, you’d know how I feel about them 😛

For the lips, I used Shiseido Lacquer Rouge in Nocturne. It photographs brighter, but in real life, it is a deeper red. I used NARS Laguna bronzer on my cheeks, and I didn’t add any blush. I actually quite like the paler cheeks and ka-pow red lips. The eyes are quite shiny too so it’s great for parties. What do you think? Should I have added some blush so I didn’t look like a vampire? LOL!

That is my take on Lisa’s look. I love all her videos. She makes her tutorials easy to follow, and doesn’t blab or yap on and on and on about other stuff, you get what I mean. What would I give to have my makeup done by her!

So anyway, what do you think I could have done to improve this look? Feedback appreciated, guys! As always, thanks for reading and have a great Monday!

xoxo Lily

I like Lisa Eldridge but I rarely watch any videos…just don’t have the attention span, LOL. This look is really beautiful, Lily! I love the eyes and the understated cheeks – really lovely!

I’m not a huge blush person so I think you look great without it. There’s just something so sophisticated about deep red lips – I must check this lip colour out :)

Hey Lily, I love your take on Lisa’s tutorial! Your cheeks are so defined even without any blush, so I personally think you can let it slide here. That lipstick is amazing!!! I’ve got to look into this line :)

Hey Sunny. This red is amazing. I think it looks dark enough to be sexy but not too vampy :-)

You look great! I think I might have to try that lip-it’s a cooler red which maybe I can wear! But I do think red lips make me look so old now haha. I need to get rid of all my red lipsticks I think. Sad I know. But necessary.

I still disagree with you Tracy. I think you can definitely pull off a red! However, with your new hair color, you look friggin amazing in bright pinks! !!

  • Bella

You have perfectly adapted this look to yourself. I love it and want to try it too! (I’d probably add highlighter or blush because I don’t have your cheekbones, but you don’t need it at all.).

Aaw, thank you Bella :-) I hope you’ll give it a try too! Lisa made the tutorial very easy to understand.
