Review: Chanel Cream Blush in Intonation

I finally got it! I’ve been reading about Chanel cream blushes so much and I finally caved. Instead of getting their permanent shades, my heart was taken by this pinky coral in Intonation.

Chanel cream blushes are smaller than I expected, weighing in only at 2.5g compared to the re-released Bobbi Brown pot rouges which have more product (3.5g). Chanel cream blushes are more expensive too! I was doing some comparisons in my head, and then compared the textures as well, and I can tell you that they’re very different. While Bobbi Brown pot rouges (for lips and cheeks) are creamier so that it doesn’t feel awful on the lips, Chanel cream blushes have drier texture which turns to powder on skin. I’m not sure how you’ll like these Chanel ones if you have really dry skin, but on my normal skin, these are great. Coverage can be built and it blends very easily without looking streaky or patchy. I usually apply my foundation then cream blushes before setting everything with powder so I don’t have problems with it sliding on my face. It lasts the whole day on my skin, as most blushes do.

Intonation looks pinky coral on my skin and I don’t think I have another cream blush that looks similar. On my skin, it just looks very natural. Below, I paired Intonation with NARS Matte Velvet Lip Pencil in Dolce Vita, and you can see <here> for a different look.

Chanel cream blushes retail for RM120 and Intonation is part of their Spring 2014 collection. I think they’re still available. I’m not sure if I’ll pick up another, but if I do, it’ll be Presage 🙂  Have you tried Chanel’s cream blushes? Did you pick up anything from Spring collections in general?
