This Is Driving Me Mad! Come Talk Me Out Of It. Tom Ford Lust.

I was just talking about making a dent in my products, wasn’t I? So here I am, in my fickle best, showing you what I’ve been wanting REALLY BADLY!

Tom Ford Lust

We have here Tom Ford eye quad in Orchid Haze and Cocoa Mirage, Tom Ford blush in Flush and the new lipstick in Summer Fling. Of course, the much coveted brushes – cheek brush and the blending brush. I already have the bronzer brush and the cream foundation brush and they are absolutely divine! I go to (the last I checked, Selfridges doesn’t have Cocoa Mirage), check all these things in the basket, and close the window. As much as I want to get all these, I think getting all of them at once is just too indulgent.

That said, there’s VAT discount which will offset the shipping and economically speaking, I can save more money if I got them all at once. I am going mad… so I’m trying to look at something else to distract myself. This has been on my mind for the last few months though. So, I think I’m doing quite well ๐Ÿ™‚

What have you been lusting after lately?

xoxo Lily

LOL hahaha ok I have Flush. Don’t get it. It’s nice, but not really unique enough. Get Ravishing instead. Or Savage. As for Cocoa Mirage-you have that Chanel palette from Christmas. You don’t need any more neutrals! And Orchid HaZe I’ve seen in person-it’s not all that either. The colours are all kind of similar when swatched. I can’t talk you out of the lipstick though because his lipsticks are my FAVE and they are divine! SO WORTH IT hahaha.

    • Lily

Thanks for the voice of reason. I don’t need more neutrals. Agreed!

  • ChicScience

Oh I just saw the Tom Ford Summer eye shadow palette! I want it! NOW! LOL ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Lily

      Not. Helping. >_<

  • Icaria

Oh I would love to get a TF lippie but I’ve been lusting for a Sisley Phyto Lip Twist. Imagine that, me wanting a chubby lip crayon! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Lily

      Chubby lip crayons are nice!

  • liyeun

Well, get the brushes, though. There must be other things at Harrods that you might like?

    • Lily

      Lol ok. I’ll forget it!

  • Bella

Haha!!! The Harrods shipping costs are pretty murderous and since I live in the EU I get no VAT savings, bummer. I can’t talk you out of Orchid Haze; I recently acquired it and it’s the kind of palette you could use every day. Gorgeous taupey-pinkey-plummy shades that blend like a dream. No ghastly glitter. Cocoa Mirage looks stunning too!! I unfortunately got Cognac Sable and I truly hate it. I must say that of the TF products I have, only the Orchid haze palette and the lipstick formula please me. I don’t understand the hype about the blush. For me, Nars blushes are infinitely better.

    • Lily

Lol since I’ve only seen online swatches, I’m going to make myself believe that Orchid Haze is too pink for me. Hahaha

  • Haha sorry but I can’t help kill your lusting here, because I’d like some more TF in my life, too! I am not that interested in the quads (phew), but I wouldn’t mind one more blush or two, and maybe allll of those bunny-soft brushes…..

    • Lily

SUNNY! You’re supposed to talk me out of it!! Ugh… those brushes are magnificently luxurious. I mean, Hakuhodo and Chikuhodo are great, and I heard TF brushes are manufactured by Hakuhodo… but that brush handle is just so luxe. I’m sooooooo dead >_<

      • I wouldn’t be surprised if they are. Hakuhodo actually manufactures EVERYBODY’S brushes or so it seems. I’m going to sit on my hands for as long as I can, but there is no guarantee when I’ll order some of them online in a trance LOL

        • hahaha mr bunny always says, “don’t make any sneaky late night orders” ie when he’s asleep and i should be sleeping. my ability to resist is weak then!

        • Lily

          ‘in a trance’… LOL LOL!

  • Liz

You know what? It’s been months and you will keep looking at them. I think you’ve been restrained for a long time and need a treat. Just get these and don’t get anything else for the rest of the year, LOL. But to be honest with you, I wasn’t very impressed by the shadows or blush, so you might want to focus on the brushes and lipsticks. There’s a TF counter here now and it’s taken out the novelty and allure somewhat. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Lily

You’re right – not about just getting them part (LOL!) but about the novelty. I think it’s because TF is hard to access to, which makes me mighty curious. I shall curb this. I feel like my lemming has died down a lot after this post – YAY!

  • LOL I have felt the same way lately, actually, but not for TF. I kept sticking things in my basket and then closing the window. BUT the other day I finally had to go shopping – it’s been stressful with some things (job, Dennison) and I needed the treat. I plan to take a break now and enjoy all the new goodies, LOL.

    • Lily

YES! If you’ve been stressed out, then you deserve a break ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ve been pretty slack all round, just itching for something new to play with. But I shall play with cheaper things for now. I need more skincare, not makeup – that’s what I keep telling myself!

  • resisting for a few months is SO GOOD!! I want those quads too, and the eye contour brush. and maybe one of the spring lippies or bruised plum. Gah. I’m trying to resist though!

    • Lily

We’re not helping each other, Joyce. BAHAHAHA!

  • Ahahaha, I cannot identify with this post because I CHECK OUT ON EVERYTHING I WANT LATELY *burns money*
But to mimic a sensible person, I don’t really find the TF textures splurge-worthy, personally! Only came to this realisation after owning a little of everything, though… *coughs*

    • Lily

Oh, the sensibility in you speaks to me! I shall chant to myself – ‘not worth it, not worth it’
So, what did you get other than everything? LOL!

    • Bella

This is unfortunately my Tom Ford experience too. It doesn’t help that I could only buy by extensively perusing online swatches and then jumping in the deep end. I got the Cognac Sable eye quad, Ravish blush, Indian Rose lipstick and the Traceless Foundation in liquid and stick form. I shall probably enjoy the foundations in the summer; they’re just too sheer for now. The blush pulls too warm on me and I don’t see any better colours for myself in the collection, the Cognac Sable quad sucks in a gigantic way and the Orchid Haze is perfect. LOL. I wish I’d found your Cognac Sable review before I purchased.

      • Bella

Oh and the packaging is CHEAP and not luxurious, and the products are way, way, wayyyyyyy overpriced for what they are. Not even my Orchid Haze success could ever tempt me to buy TF again.

  • Lily

    I know right??

  • Summer Fling!! That one’s been haunting my dreams lately as well. Le sigh….wouldn’t be mad atcha if you brought it home, lol!

    • Lily

LOL Kristen. My wallet will be mad at me. Surprisingly, after I’ve done this post, I’ve stopped thinking about it. Maybe when the itch is bad, I might go mad and grab them, but at the moment, I’m good ๐Ÿ™‚

  • I just had a laugh reading all the comments on this post – they all represent voices in my head when I want to make an expensive purchase. You are prob over this but I’ll just add my two cents’ worth here โ€” whenever I buy something new (esp something expensive), I look at my stash and throw something else out. One out, one in theory so I don’t feel like I’m hoarding too much. I’ve never tried TF makeup, except for one lone lipstick, and it seems the packaging and branding win the hearts of many beauty fanatics because there are cheaper brands that do excellent quality makeup as well. BUT, I love luxe packaging because it makes me feel good. I would pay for it. :p And I didn’t know Harrods ships internationally – great tip!!!!

    • Lily

HAHAHA I’m over it now, kinda. I just don’t want to think about it, and I’m OK ๐Ÿ™‚ Yes, Harrods ships internationally! Sometimes, it’s not such a good thing for da wallet >_<
