Femme Boulevard: Hollywood Goddess

To tell you the truth, I don’t have a particular favourite Hollywood actress. I have girl crushes sometimes, but I seldom go crazy on actresses or actors or singers. So when my fellow Femmes suggested channeling Hollywood Goddess, I was a little stuck. What or who am I going to do? I delayed this post, and postponed until the very last minute… just a few hours before the post is due. I went through all the photos of the most recent Oscars and noticed one thing. Most of them looked like themselves, just better. Many played up the eyes, paired with subtle cheeks and nude lips. However, most of them, most of the time, wore makeup that’s noticeable but not over the top. Hence, that’s what I chose to do. I played with colours close to my own natural skin tone, browns, beiges and a hint of pink.

For the eyes, it was all about layering. I used Tom Ford Cocoa Mirage, a mostly matte palette that is flattering on most skin tones. I contrasted the warmth with the cool pink Dior My Lady blush in 002, and tied everything together with a combination of lip colours. I used Dior Fluid Stick in Mirage as a base. It is a bright coral on my lips which clashed like crazy with the blush. I then used Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Shine Mischievous Rose on top of Mirage to tone down the coral. Mischievous Rose on its own is much lighter than my natural lip colour, and when paired this way, it still looks rosey mauve but without the corpse like feel.

The whole look is soft and natural, understated but polished.

Of course, glamming up the hair, accessories and outfit will change the look completely, so let’s just put our imagination to work and pretend I have loads of bling on. LOL! While the look is not ka-pow, BAM, in your face, WHOA… it’s totally wearable, a my face but better kinda look. Don’t miss out what the rest of my buddies did so be sure to click on the links below 🙂

I hope you liked this look, and I’ll see you soon!

Thats a beautiful look! And all the new purdy things!!! Loving your hair too <3

    • Lily

Thanks noodles 🙂 That was my morning after shower hair with no styling. Easy to manage eh?

  • Bella

I can’t get over how gorgeous your hair looks. This is such a pretty makeup loom too. And you naughty girl, you bought Cocoa Mirage!!! I think I should toddle off to do the same now, because you know, *everyone* needs 4 matte brown eyeshadows that cost 62 GBP ;)…

    • Lily

Aaw Thanks. And yeah I got naughty! Just this though. Didn’t get the rest of my Tom Ford lusts. Heh!

  • Hey Lily, oh this is a look that will take you everywhere! Did you know that Asia gets a different formula of the new EL lipstick? Some of them look really good, and I’d love to hear what you think!

    • Lily

Yup Sunny, we get Shine while the rest get Sculpt. I haven’t seen the whole range of colours and I’m still a little undecided on whether I like it. Have to use it a few more times!

  • Icaria

Oh this is a lovely “me but better” look! Going shoping today and I this is the look I’ll go for! 🙂 Now that Dior blush is soooo pretty!!!

    • Lily

Very wearable for all occasions 🙂 The blush is gorgeous and the texture is amazing!

  • You look BEAUTIFUL! Definitely just like an A-lister from another, better world 😀
Also, FLUID STICKS YAY! I want more already!

    • Lily

Aaw Thanks Kate! I need to look at the other fluid sticks we’re getting. Seems like we are getting different shades.

  • Love this natural look. It is especially beautiful with your curls. 🙂

    • Lily

      Thanks Lena 🙂

  • Gorgeous! I see you got Cocoa Mirage haha! Worth it?

    • Lily

I know I caved >.< The texture is gorgeous though 🙂

  • GLAM, LILY. I love it! Especially with your hair 😀

    • Lily

      Thank you Larie 🙂

  • This is such a wearable look hun, and I agree with a bit of bling this will be red carpet ready. I’m actually quite happy that the trend these days is to do wearable realistic looks, means us mere mortals have a chance 🙂
    PS: Still loving your hair!

    • Lily

Thanks Lilit 🙂 Then again, most Hollywood actresses have such beautiful bone structures that only minimal makeup is needed!

  • your hair here is so pretty! i’ve been contemplating a perm (since i’m no good with a curling wand and really can’t be bothered…) the look is very wearable but still has a smoky glamour. 🙂

    • Lily

Thanks Jenn 🙂 These curls are super low maintenance and I love it!

  • Hah, I was in the same boat Lily! :p I was still typing my post when the deadline expired, oops! I love your look tho and I loooove your fringe! Can I please have that Dior blush too? :p

    • Lily

Thanks Teri. Do you guys have these My Lady blushes? They were limited edition and only available in selected countries, and I think it’s such a bummer. Such beautiful blushes should be available everywhere!

  • You do look like a Hollywood Goddess 🙂 and also this is the 2nd time I’ve seen this Dior blush (the other was in your other post) and I’m really liking it!

    • Lily

Aaw, thanks Sofia. The Dior blush looks and feels great! I’m glad I got them 🙂

  • Liz

You look amazing! I love how soft and shiny your hair looks with the side swept bangs.

    • Lily

Thank you Liz! I have no idea how to style my hair, so I just blow dry it. I’m glad it turned out ok 🙂

  • You look fantastic! That Dior blush looks so puhreeeeeetty! And your hair looks amazing by the way.

    • Lily

Thank you Melissa 🙂 I need to remember how I made my hair look this way. Hahahaha!

  • Ahhh I love this! You look so good, and the eye makeup is just perfect. And that hair, Hollywood Goddess indeed 😉

    • Lily

You make me blush, MM! To tell you the truth, I don’t know how the hair turned out this way. I need to try it again. LOL!

  • You definitely nailed the naturally glam look! I love Old Hollywood style makeup, so I’d probably do something like that for this post. I’m like you – while I like a lot of actors and musicians in general, I don’t really go crazy over specific ones for how they look (for their performances, I can get a little crazy ;))

    • Lily

Hi Catherine, thanks! Yup, we’re alike – it’s hard for me to focus on just one person because there are so many good actors out there… Performances and story definitely trump the rest. I mean, an actor is only as good as his character, isn’t he? LOL!

  • Hannah Pearson

“The natural but still you” look is the best… and that Dior blush is so pretty!

    • Lily

      Thank you Hannah 🙂

  • Jaa

Hi Lily! First time commenting here. ^_^ Just read your last comment when you said this was your hair after shower without any styling?!! HOW DID YOU DO THAT?! My hair looks like a wet bird’s nest after shower and a dry bird’s nest once they dry. Haha.

Hair aside, I’m really loving the look of that Dior blush! How come I haven’t seen it before?! So pretty…

I also really love the first photo of you. Perfect lighting, perfect pose, and perfect makeup! <3

    • Lily

LOL Jaa, I had no idea what happened to my hair because truthfully, the hair wears me. Hahaha! The Dior My Lady blush is limited edition, and so far, other than some news from Japan, the UK, Singapore and Malaysia, I’m not sure where else carries it. In fact, my PR contact at Dior didn’t even know we were getting it!
