Dior Addict Fluid Sticks are lip hybrids. There have been so many lip hybrids lately, it’s getting a little boring. Truth be told, I received these a few months ago, even before I got pregnant, so it’s definitely a delayed review. I have my reasons for it though. The main one is no secret, with being sick and all, and another is because I don’t know how I feel about them. I’m sure by now, you’ve read a lot about them, that there is no wax in the ingredients, and all sorts of raves. Admittedly, I was very excited when I first got them. I tried them and tried them again but still couldn’t form a solid opinion.
Let me also establish a known fact that I’m not a big fan of glosses. I’d only wear lip glosses that are light and non sticky. So when it comes to lip hybrids, they are supposed to be liquid and they are also supposed to last. It’s not easy to make something very lightweight AND last. The stickiness kinda helps the lasting power, when it comes to glosses anyway. So I was impressed with the fact that these are opaque shades without the tackiness that I expected. They are lighter than thick glosses, but definitely heavier than the Dior Addict Gloss – naturally. The applicator is a flat teardrop sponge which I find easy to use. It offers precision for darker colours compared to a brush I suppose.
I have 2 shades and they are Mirage and Pandore. Mirage is a nude beige that is very wearable. It doesn’t wash me out, and on me, it pulls a little coral. Pandore is a bright shade that looks pink sometimes, and in different light, it also looks like reddish coral. It’s easier to wear Mirage as it is easier to wear light shades compared to darker bolder shades. In this case, I find it patchy to layer Pandore. It is also an especially bright colour for me so I like to wear it blotted down. Once it is blotted, the shine is gone, but gives a beautiful pink stain. The Fluid Sticks don’t last very long on me though. Probably about 2 to 3 hours and it definitely doesn’t last a meal. I usually have Asian food, so maybe it’s greasier? I suppose it would win against a salad. LOL!
Have you tried these Fluid Sticks? There are 16 permanent shades so there’s no need to hurry. I delayed this review with hopes that some of you might have tried it. The texture reminds me a little of the YSL Glossy Stains except the fact that this is more comfortable. I still prefer my Dior Addict lipsticks though. I’m still a loyal fan and the Fluid Sticks did not sway me. What about you?
