FOTD: Dior Tutu. Loads of Pink.

I feel like I had to channel my non existent inner Barbie when wearing this palette. Tutu is  a very pink palette, and you can refer to the swatches in my previous review here. If you’ve been a long time reader, you’d know I’m not a fan of sweet girlie stuff like pinks. I’ve always prefer darker shadows. I’m a smokey eye kinda person.

As I was applying these shadows, I got flashbacks of all those Barbie cartoons both my daughters watch. I still stand firm in thinking that if you have flatter eyes like me, you’d need to use darker shadows and dark liner for more definition. However for this post, I’m using the colours only from this palette, and with black liner. Don’t my eyes look smaller for some reason? I thought they look a bit puffy too 🙂

What do you think of Tutu? Personally, I’d prefer to use maybe just 1 or 2 shades from this palette, mixed with something else. The pinks here are very pretty, don’t get me wrong, but because I’m not a pink person, this is a bit of an overload. Chloe and Ashlyn loved it though, for obvious reasons 😛

xoxo Lily

  • Not a palette I’d pick myself either but I think you are wearing it really well tbh! The purple/blue really suits your brown eyes ^^

    • Lily

Thanks Teri. The purple looks pink after blending it with so many other pinks. Lol! Thank goodness for black liner.

  • I love it! I think you look lovely! This is pretty much the only one that appeals to me, so I think I might splurge for it.

    • Lily

I’d love to hear what you think of it. I swatched the other palettes today and surprisingly, I was drawn towards Jardin. ALL the 5 shades are soft and buttery, pigmented and the colours, so beautiful!

  • I love it! You look like a sweet girl slash kinda the girl-next-door look. Heehee.

    • Lily

      Lol thanks Laarni.

  • This look is sweet and pretty! 🙂
I find wearing pinks on the eyes more challenging as well. I usually layer them over darker cream base, though.

    • Lily

Yes pinks work quite well with browns or dark purple. My favourite shade to pair pinks with is definitely brown though.

  • Hey Lily, you totally aced it! If I were to use this, I’d probably have to mix a couple of the shades with something else, but you never know! The lipstick is pretty! Very girly 🙂

    • Lily

Definitely wear it with darker shades. I find my eyes puffy here. Lol

  • Soooo pretteh!!! It’s a lovely palette on you as well as the lippie <3

    • Lily

Thanks Noodles. You guys seem to like it more than I do. Lol

  • Hi Lily,
it looks so nice on you. I love the combination of lips and eyes too! Blush shades on eyes are totally in at the moment so I am interested. Seeing your swatches though, it might be too much shimmer for me, so I have to check it out in person.

    • Lily

Hi Sara, they have a pretty sheen in sunlight but not overly shimmery. If you’re a fan of pinks, then this is the one for you.

  • Yeah, far too pink for me! I like depth, as well, but I can never make smoky eyes work for me either, lol!

    • Lily

You look awesome with colours, Larie! But I agree. There’s only so much pink I could take >_<

  • Liz

You know, I like pink on you. 🙂 But yeah, the palette needs something other than all that pink.

    • Lily

Haha thanks Liz. I like the quality of the palette, and the colour combo that is just so pretty, but on me personally, it’s another story. I see some people pull off pinks so beautifully though!

  • Michelle

    Very pretty on you !
I use lash Miximizer from Dior to make my asian girl’s small lashes to look longer and to enhance the density, and my eyes look bigger, without to use falsies. I think you’ll love it !

    • Lily

I should try it! Sounds like i need it 🙂
