Project Make A Dent #2

It’s been a while since I followed up with this Project Make A Dent. If you missed the first one, or if you don’t know what this is about, please click here where I explained it. For the first project, I cheated by using up all products close to finishing. I’m happy to report they were all gone in a couple of months. So now, I want to pick some other stuff, either to use up, or to really make a dent in it.

Here are the 6 products I chose for this round:

  • Revlon Grow Luscious Lashliner – it’s been with me for a while, and considering there’s not much left, I want to be able to use it until it’s short enough to throw away. I still have quite a few pencil liners to go through!
  • Clinique Chubby Stick in 12 Oversized Orange (mini size) – this is part of a holiday pack, and since our weather here like summer all the time, orange is appropriate for every day. I’m going to try to use this up. Doesn’t look like it’s got much to use up right? I didn’t realise these were minis when I bought them. I already used up a pink one.
  • NARS Orgasm blush – because it goes with the orange lip, and also this is the first NARS blush I ever owned. I’d like to see some pan action in this, before the rubber packaging dies on me like NARS Laguna (which I depotted)
  • Clinique Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes in Bountiful Beige – I need to use these cream shadows. I chose a universal shade as a base just because I can (try to) use it every day
  • Bare Minerals Ready Eyeshadow 2.0 in The Escape – a neutral eye duo to go with the whole theme. Planning to layer this over Bountiful Beige. I used to love this duo. Need to use it more again.
  • Lancome Maqui Blanc Miracle powder foundation in BO-01 (Asian version) – one of my favourite powders and I already have a backup on hand. I really hate this crumbly action towards the end, so I must use this up. I know it doesn’t take much anymore, but I’m using all my resolve not to chuck this out already, you know?

So here they are, and I’ll try to be more diligent with the follow up post this time. Perhaps I’ll update this end of next month. If I remember! Do you have a few products you’re bent on using? I know this might not make sense to some, but because my stash is big, it is a challenge to consistently use a product until it’s gone. Hence, I thought, why not? I’ve been boring with makeup anyway, so this will be easier for me in the mornings or when I go out. I literally don’t have to think what to wear. LOL!

Until next time!

xoxo Lily

I don’t really feel the urge to put a dent in my products anymore, but if I SEE a dent, I’m going to want to finish that annoying bastard ASAP! LOL I think I’d toss the crumbly bits in that powder and work with the remaining block on the edge, but you are stubborn, I see. 🙂

    • Lily

I AM stubborn!! I refuse to throw away those crumbly bits. I want to kill them myself by dipping my brush in it and use them. MUAHAHAHA! I’m weird like that.

  • LOL I’d chuck that powder. I can’t stand crumbly bits. IT’S DEAD LILY CHUCK IT. hahahahahaha

    • Lily

It’s HALF dead, Tracy. Not dead until it’s GONE! GOOOONNNEEE!!!!!! I’ve gone nuts, so don’t worry about me. LOL!

      • DUDE, that’s not HALF. It’s like 1/100th or something. CHUCK IT HAHAHAHAHA

        • Lily

OK OK. HAHAHAHA! I’ll try to. It just makes me tick, those crumbs. HAHAHA!

  • Oh man I hate that crumbly action too at the end of a powder. I saved one of my mineral foundation containers so I can crush up the crumbles and use it as loose powder…only because I hate wasting lol

    • Lily

Right? Right? Those crumbs make my eyes tick. Hahahaha! I crush them using the back of my brush and use them. DIE POWDER!!!

  • I second Tracy on the chucking of that powder! My mild OCD wouldn’t be remotely okay with that continuing on in the competition, lol! “I’d like to see some pan action in this” – ha! I am going to work on an official list and join you in project make a dent. I know right off the bat my #1 target is Clinique Bamboo Pink lipstick. I’m close, man. I also hit pan on my YSL Mat + Radiant powder (should probably review that since I’ve almost finished the damn thing at this point!) and felt quite pleased with myself. Good luck on your denting and definitely update us! Fun! 😀

    • Lily

I know what you mean, but at the back of my mind, I just feel like the powder wins if I threw it in the bin. HAHAHAHA!
Yes PLEASE!! Join in!! It’ll be fun 🙂

      • Ha ha ha!! You feel like the powder wins! I’m cracking up! I *AM* joining you in project make a dent! I wrote the post last night, took the photos today and the post will be up tonight at midnight. Thank you so much for the inspiration!! <3

        • Lily

Awesome! Can’t wait to see what products you picked 🙂

  • Yay I love posts like these! I’ve been doing a sort of use-it-up project this year as well and it’s been amazing clearing out some things for once! I’ll definitely be following your progress if you decide to post updates! 🙂 xx

    • Lily

Hey Ellie, it’s so satisfying to use up makeup but sometimes, random thoughts creep in and I’d be thinking “Who the hell cares??!” LOL!

  • Wow, that Lancome powder is literally gone already! I don’t think I’ve seen anything to the end like that, but then again I don’t use powder foundation much!

    • Lily

I like using powder foundation because it’s easy especially when it’s hot out. I sometimes use it to set sheer liquid foundations because it lasts longer than loose powder 🙂

  • I could never do a project like this (I’d be too stressed out! LOL), but admire how everything is well chosen to work with each other.
Honestly, I thought “Hmm, I think I need a shadow stick eyeshadow. Hmmm, I used to love Lancome powder foundation, SHOULD I GET THEM?”
    See? No hope for me.

    • Lily

Lol Lena. I know you hate empties posts and I suppose this is similar since I chose these products to use up. So thanks for reading and commenting. Seriously though, Lancôme makes pretty good foundations and here we get shades tailor made for Asian skin tones. Awesome stuff!

  • Haha, like Lena, i think this would stress me out. Also, yes, Tracy’s right – the powder’s dead! LOL. I find it so hard to use it up once it hits that stage.

    • Lily

I know many will chuck it, but I’m just rebellious. It’s like the powder wins if I throw it away. Let just see how far I can go. But I know, I will chuck it once I give up. LOL!

  • I can’t remember the last time I finished a product that wasn’t skincare or a foundation so this is impressive!

    • Lily

I usually use up skincare as well, so the satisfaction of using up a makeup product is pretty awesome 🙂 That said, this is just a little project I thought would be fun to do, as long as it doesn’t stress me out. LOL!

  • Shu Ting

that growluscious gel liner shouldn’t be difficult to use up! :p It breaks easily during sharpen so it’s a bit like quicken the process to use up. HAHA

    • Lily

HAHAHA! I know right? Even that, I’ve had troubles using it up. Have to make an effort to actually use this all the time 🙂

  • Emma Bovary

love the idea of shopping your stash like this, so good

    • Lily

I just want that rare excitement of hitting man on makeup. I want to make myself do it. Doesn’t make sense, but I like a good challenge. LOL!
