Review: Canmake Cream Blushes

Canmake is a Japanese brand sold at Sasa here. It’s so accessible for me, but took me a long time to actually try anything from this brand! I decided to give the blushes a try first and the reason I chose the cream blushes is because they look like jelly and I was hungry. HAHAHA!

These blushes are very small. They come in plastic jewel like boxes and are very light. Nothing to shout about but functional enough 🙂 I chose the first 2 shades in the lineup, CL01 and CL02 randomly. All the shades are quite beautiful, truth be told, so what am I to do? I’m not going to buy everything. CL01 is a jelly red while CL02 is a blue based pink. Actually, in some lighting, it looks like guava pink.

These blushes are emollient to touch and they don’t feel siliconey. They feel light, not particularly creamy, something like a brand new lip balm in a pot, if you know what I mean. I like to apply this using my fingers. I dab a couple of dots on my cheeks then blend them out. They don’t turn to powder, but rather, just blend well into the skin. They feel a little tacky initially, just a tad bit, but settle into the skin quite nicely. Setting with powder makes them last at least 8 hours on me. Here is how they swatch, one swipe, using fingers.

And when worn, they look like this. As you can tell, even though the difference is subtle (unless you pile on clown cheeks!), CL01 is warmer while CL02 is cooler and lighter on the skin.

Do you own any Canmake cream blushes? For such a tiny little thing, I expected it to cost a bit less, but I paid RM43.90 for each blush last year. Not sure if there are any price changes since then though.
