Review: Clarins Multi-Blush Cream Blush in 02 Candy

Ah Clarins. We only have their skincare here, so I drool over their makeup all the time when my blogger friends talk about them. And also thank you to generous blogger friends that I get to try the Clarins Multi-Blush Cream Blush in Candy, which is a pink peach. I love blushes, cream or not, so this is right up my alley πŸ™‚ Thank you beautiful, you know who you are!

This cream blush looks quite small (4g), but comparatively, it is pretty much the same as my Lunasol cream blush (3.8g) and even Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge (3.7g). The Clarins Multi-Blush Cream Blush feels quite siliconey and while it looks rather pigmented, it goes on very sheer. You can see the swatch on my hand that this is a beautiful peachy pink / pinky peach whatever you want to call it, but once blended, the colour disappears against my skin.

This cream blush blends quite easily with fingers, but this shade needs to be piled on my cheeks before you notice something. After the first layer of application, I couldn’t see anything on my cheeks. A second layer, I could see a very light hint of colour. In the photo below, I have done about 4 layers of Candy on my cheeks and it’s still very subtle.

Good news is, you won’t be able to overdo this blush. Not ever! I have light skin (NC15-20) so perhaps this blush is more suitable for those with much paler skin. I don’t mind layering on the colour, and I love that it gives me the slightest hint of peach. I can apply this blush carelessly, and it’d be ok. So for me, this is a blush I’d be using when I’m in a hurry, and don’t have time to be careful with makeup.

Have you tried this blush before? Do you have the same experience with Candy?

  • OK, so this is definitely not for me! If you need 4 layers, I might need 8 LOL I like the impossible to overdose aspect, but I don’t have the patience for all that layering!

    • Lily

LOL! Perhaps a darker shade will show up better πŸ™‚

  • Even if it is super sheer, this look really beautiful on you! Such a natural hue!

    • Lily

      Thank you Jodi πŸ™‚

  • I liked this one too, and yes it does need to be layered! But it sure was nice! It looks pretty on you!

    • Lily

Thanks! Probably won’t use it if I’m rushing out the door though, now that I think about it πŸ˜› Won’t mess it up but it’ll be very sheer!

  • I’ve never tried this one but it does have that effortless chic look – which is funny considering it took 4 layers!

    • Lily

Right? I should edit the statement above that says this is good for when I’m in a hurry. It does take time to layer on the products. Lol!

You’re welcome. Looks good on you. πŸ˜‰ I put a lot on at once and then lightly pat with fingertips to blend in short up-down motions. Swirling would just make it disappear, lol. I want to try the darkest shade but keep forgetting about it with new things coming out all the time!

    • Lily

I haven’t tried putting a lot on at once. Maybe I should give that a try one day πŸ™‚

  • Lovely glowly shade on you! It’s sad Clarins don’t sell their makeup in Asia, they have lots of subtle products are seem to be real keepers!

    • Lily

      I know! It’s such a shame. I wonder why. ..

  • These remind me of the Fusion cheek sculpt blushes — they’re super sheer so I feel like I’m layerig it on like a crazy person, but voila, I never actually look cray, just glowy!

    • Lily

Blushes like these are great for beginners though don’t you think? Can’t go wrong πŸ™‚

      • For sure! Or if you’re in a hurry/overslept (i.e. ME ERR’DAY)

  • Pretty! Pretty pretty pretty. I love Clarins packaging — and this shade looks just perfect.

    • Lily

I think this shade will turn out just great on your skin, Rae!
