Ah, a tag on makeup stash. I haven’t posted anything about my stash before, so here’s a glimpse to satisfy your voyeuristic nature. Truth be told, I love to read posts like these, because I’m nosy. Thanks to Larie for tagging me, so be sure to check out her post. Oh yeah, I just saw Larie’s mention of their #30daysoflipstick “project” and I’m joining them on Instagram. However, since baby is arriving any time this month, I probably won’t make it to 30. Highly unlikely. Tracy so cleverly created my hashtag – #HowManyLipsticksUntilLilyPops which totally cracked me up. LOL! Come check out our Instagram if you haven’t. Now, back to the tag.
1. Which product do you still keep buying more of despite having plenty in your collection?
Erm, I think lipsticks are the easiest to purchase. I mean, I’m a Lipstick Bandit for a reason, but still, isn’t it just so easy to purchase another lip colour?
2. What’s the one product you can’t live without?
Just one? This is cruel. If I HAD to choose….it would be lipstick. It gives me life immediately 🙂
3. Favorite makeup brand?
I like to explore different brands, but just reviewing my stash in general, I seem to have a lot of Dior.
4. How big is your makeup collection?
How do you want me to answer this? I have no idea. Bigger than what I need but smaller than most bloggers? I review my stash half yearly and give away things to friends and family to keep my stash manageable.
5. And how do you store it?
I have a makeup box that my husband made specially for me, which stores heck a lot of stuff. I store my pencils, concealers, unopened mascaras, lippies, single eye shadows, blushes and small palettes there. I have another 3 tier drawer, one for base products (liquid foundations, powder foundations, primers, setting powders, some ramdom samples), another for custom (Z palettes and Unii palettes and some MAC palettes) and ready palettes, and another for makeup brushes stored in brush rolls. I rotate my brushes so that all of them get used. There are bits and pieces of makeup on my vanity, those that I try to use often, and I try my best to limit my stash to this size. There’s also a medium sized wooden treasure box on my vanity where I keep products “to be reviewed”. If I put them in any of those boxes or drawers mentioned earlier, I’d forget about them 😛 If I can’t fit in anymore stuff within these spaces, then I’d go through my stash, reorganize, and maybe purge those I hardly use anymore.
6. How many items of makeup have you got in your handbag at the moment?
7. If you could raid another blogger’s stash, who would it be?
Oh this is hard. I’d raid Tracy of Beauty Reflections because she’s been blogging for so long, and there are many things she has that I’ve got no access to!
8. How long does your usual makeup routine take and how many products do you use?
Nowadays, I’m all for minimal. I’d use a base, either a BB cream or a light foundation, a brow pencil to fill in my brows, a pencil liner and a mascara, a blush and a lip colour. It only takes me about 10 minutes but if I decide to add some eye shadow then it’ll probably take 15 minutes. If I’m in a hurry, I’d just pop some RMS ‘un’cover up under my eyes and around my nose and a lipstick and I’m out the door.
9. Have you ever bought makeup knowing you wouldn’t use it?
I’m pretty good with this actually. I use all my makeup. I mean, I don’t use all of them all the time, but there is no makeup in my stash that is brand new, unused. I do have a problem remembering all that I have, but that’s the reason I’ve got my Sunday Stash Shopping posts.
10. Tag a few other makeup addicts to do this tag!
Like Larie, I don’t want to impose this on anyone but I’m also nosy. So you guys don’t have to do it if you don’t want to. I tag Sunny of Mostly Sunny, Tracy of Beauty Reflections, Liz of Beauty Reductionista and Kristen of Glambunctious!
