Another Not A Review: L’Intemporel de Chanel Eyeshadow Palette

The very first time I saw the promotional stock photo, my heart skipped a beat, or two. Be still, my beating heart! It’s been a long time since any press release photos did that to me. L’Intemporel de Chanel Eyeshadow Palette however, is definitely something that tugs at your heart. Even when I’ve read mixed reviews, complaining about the texture, I knew I’d still get it. Apparently the swatches are subpar, but when worn, the texture just works.

I really couldn’t stop taking the photos. Look at the print. Look at the colours, the nuances. Sigh. I don’t even want to get into detail because I’m sure it’s been said before. Just let me take the photos in peace.

And regarding the swatch vs performance, I’d have to agree. The swatches look dry here, but when applied on the eyes, they are smoother and more pigmented. Here are a few looks I created.

Left: I used the shimmery yellow on my lids and the greyish teal as liner. It shows up better when used on top of a black pencil liner.

Centre: White on the lids and black for definition. Again, the colours stay and show up better with primer or on top of a cream shadow. I applied this on unprimed lids and the white goes on a little patchy.

Right: Purple on the lids and shimmery yellow on the inner corners. A mixture of black and teal for definition and on lower lash line
