Romancing Myself Miss Dior Style

There’s a nagging question that goes unanswered for a long time. When was the last time I pampered myself? When was the last time I got a massage, a pedicure or even a long hot bath? It’s been a long long time. I just don’t have the time! I wake up early in the morning to the cries of a 3-month old, and I hardly get to sleep more than 3 hours straight. It just feels like life is fast forwarding and also rolling in slow motion at the same time. It’s complex, but moms to newborns should understand. So when I opened a beautiful package from Dior and saw these, I paused for a moment.

I paused and smelled the fragrances, of beautiful peonies, peaches, apricots… refreshing florals that reminded me I needed me-time. I need to slow down for myself and awaken my dulled senses. Somehow, I imagined white satin sheets, morning sunshine, gentle breeze and smooth silky skin. I must be brainwashed by mainstream ads. Oh, in my not very original imagination, there was only the sound of waves crashing the seaside. No screaming toddlers or crying babies.

A shower with the Miss Dior Shower Gel (200ml, RM172) instantly brought back the girl in me. The Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet Moisturizing Body Milk (200ml, RM212) keeps my skin soft and the scent envelopes me in such a way that applying makeup after seems like a new routine. Man, applying body lotion has never felt this satisfying. Or this relaxing. Or this princess-y.

Dare I say that again, that I feel like a princess? I mean, c’mon… look at the packaging – fit for royalty! I love the houndstooth design at the sides of the bottles too. Little details just get me.

Lately, when I don’t want the stronger scent of a perfume, I use a deodorant. I never use deodorants because I never liked the generic scents. This one though, Miss Dior Perfumed Deodorant (100ml, RM129) – I am spoiled. I spray this before I go to the gym. I mean, I really want to smell good despite the stench of sweat. I’ve been taking more protein and my sweat smells really bad. At the same time, I don’t want anything overpowering. Something gentle enough for that whiff of “aahhh” and something that probably disappears in an hour or two.

Last but not least, I want to introduce to you Miss Dior Hair Mist (30ml, RM164). There’s something about flicking your hair and your man catching a whiff of your scent. Not something heady (excuse the pun) but I think it’s very sensual and something sexy about good smelling hair. Imagine your partner giving you a back hug and smelling your 2nd or 3rd day hair. Not. Cool. I’ve been using this, pairing it with Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet EDT (50ml, RM281) and my Miss Dior Eau Fraiche EDP (which I purchased early last year) and they get along well. I am missing my Miss Dior Cherie, a limited edition from a few years back. I hope Dior will bring it back just for a while so I can buy a few backups – pretty please?

Can you tell I love my Miss Dior fragrances? I have a very sensitive nose which can only take subtle scents. Anything stronger will either make me sneeze or give me a headache. I like fresh white florals that aren’t too sweet, but light and young enough that won’t suffocate me in this tropical heat and humidity. Miss Dior fragrances bode well. A good summer / spring fragrance I love.

  • They sound really nice! I’m glad you got to feel like a princess for a bit! Everybody needs that once in awhile!

    • Lily

I know right? Ashton has been naughty the last couple of nights. I feel so worn and ragged 🙁

  • Emma Bovary

What a lovely post – I do love a good hit of Dior to make myself feel like a princess! Hair mist sounds so lovely…you deserve to feel like a princess while taking care of a baby!

    • Lily

I wish I could look posh and collected while taking care of a baby, but that’s kinda impossible. At least this makes me smell something other than baby’s saliva and vomit. LOL!

  • It surely looks very romantic and so lovely. I like Miss Dior as a fragrance and all of them together, it would smell heavenly. I love your photos too, really tempting, must resist!

    • Lily

Thanks Sara. I was hoping the photos would turn out soft and romantic, but these still look so amateur. I’m glad you like them though 🙂

      • I love your photos in general 🙂 Those were pretty and yes romantic.

        • Lily

          Aww, thanks Sara

  • Ahhh these are fit for a princess indeed! I don’t even know if I’d want to use them. If I have them, I’ll probably just display them in the bathroom LOL

    • Lily

Hahaha Sunny. I know what you mean! But using them just gives the word luxury a whole new meaning.

  • I can’t make this scent work for me, but it sure is a pretty set! Often some fragrances work better in hair mist form, so I would like to try it if I spot one from the store. 🙂

    • Lily

You are one of the more sophisticated noses I know, Lena. I mean, your perfume collection – WHOA!

  • Yeeeees, Miss Dior is the best! I personally like my perfumes strong, partially because scents never linger long on me.

    • Lily

You need to move to a tropical country then, Melissa. Scents tend to be stronger here 🙂

  • Everybody should feel like a princess sometimes! 😀 All of them are packaged so prettily – totally luxurious! I’m not a fan of Dior scents, but there’s gotta be something for everyone!

    • Lily

You’re right, Larie. Scents are so personal. I’m not adventurous enough to try or even make an effort to go look for a new scent, so I always go back to something that works. I’ve always liked Dior scents – Miss Dior, Dior Addict, J’adore…

  • Claire

hello there, that’s a nice treat. I actually really ended up liking the miss dior blooming bouquet scent a lot. hope you are doing well? 😉

    • Lily

Hi Claire! How are you? It’s been a while! I can’t be better, thank you for asking. Erm, well, actually, I’d like to have more sleep, but I just have to wait a few more months when the baby is bigger. What have you been up to?

      • Claire

hi! 🙂 oh I had very little time, sadly. I am fine, thanks. I can see how you would like to have more sleep dear 😉 xxx

        • Lily

I hope all have been well with you – It’s good to be “happy busy” 🙂

  • Jaa

Great post, Lily! I may have lost my train of thought once you started talking about the breeze and the waves crashing the seaside. ^_^

Yet another positive review on the hair mist. First read it on Sunny’s, now yours. I’m super intrigued!

    • Lily

Thanks Jaa. I really like the hair mist. It’s something different, and I have a feeling it’ll smell unique on different people too.

  • paperkitties

I love this collection too.. the advert totally won my heart, I’m quite fascinated with the hair mist though! Maybe I should consider getting it hehe!

    • Lily

Hi Paperkitties, I’m glad you love this collection too. This is an honest review though… I’ve never done an advert before 🙂 I’ve been using the hair mist nearly every day! I just came back from a friend’s lovely wedding, and I brought these with me. Definitely added to the romance in the air…
