Sunday Stash Shopping #44: Sheer Slowburn and Cosmic

I didn’t think very hard how to come up with this look. I saw Cosmic and Sheer Slowburn still on my vanity table, and decided to use these 2 together. Since Sheer Slowburn is such a bright orange red, I decided to keep everything else at a minimal. Cosmic is a super shiny glittery eye shadow (minimal fall outs), but on my hooded eyes, it adds a certain brightness that is very lovely when paired with orange.

Of course, eye liner is a must and I decided on a thicker line. On my cheeks is the light coral you see in this Lunasol palette.

blush

It complements Sheer Slowburn perfectly. On my face is Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet in B10, worn for 4 hours already. Doesn’t it still look good? A friend gave me a sample of this, and I’m loving it so far. However, I also got to try By Terry Terrybly Densiliss foundation and Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation and I love these two even more. I already bought the By Terry one I’m afraid. I’ll be purchasing the KGD Aqua foundation soon. Foundation sampling is so dangerous!

Anyway, here’s the final look, a sneak peek which you already saw on Instagram.

  • You look gorgeous Lily! And indeed, foundation looks awesome. I’m so curious to try Koh Gen Doh foundations, but then again it’s not available in Europe and I have no clue what shade to get … Once again, lol.

    X Alice

    • Lily

LOL Alice. I sometimes depend on online swatches, but that’s pretty risky. I’m glad a friend gave me some samples.

  • Love the look, Lily! Your skin looks really great here, and I love the liner work!

    • Lily

Thank you Sunny πŸ™‚ I like how this Chanel foundation looks on my skin… but I still have 3 more Chanel foundations sitting in my drawer. The Perfection Lumiere seems a little dry for my skin now. I wonder what I should do with it.

  • Nice flicks! You look so fresh faced. πŸ™‚
I’ve found only recently thicker flicked eyelines are perfect with light sheer wash of eyeshadows, which means I don’t need to go smoky all the way (duh).

    • Lily

      Thank you *flicks hair*
And yes I discovered this liner thingy to replace my go to smokey eyes. I still love some smokey action though.

  • Nice flicks like Lena said! If I wear liner I have to wear a thicker flick otherwise you can’t see it.
    You look great!

    • Lily

Thank you Tracy! I need thicker flicks too. Darn hooded eyes. But actually, I don’t really mind. Heh

  • Stunning, Lily! I love that winged eye. And that lipstick is so juicy! OMG. That’s going on the wishlist for sure.

    • Lily

You need to try it Larie. It’s right up your alley – orange!

  • Liz

Love the more dramatic look on you! (I say this even after the all black dramarama, lol.) That lipstick is so tempting but my god, I need to put a lid on the lipstick bin. And review the foundation soon? I miss having By Terry in Canada.

    • Lily

Thanks Liz… and will definitely put up a review on those By Terry bases I got lately. Just need to test them a little longer πŸ™‚

  • Beautiful! That blush really looks ethereal on your skin. And kudos on your wings. Girl, those things are perfection. I don’t know how many hours and boxes of q-tips it would take me to come close to those crisp thangs!

    • Lily

Thanks Kristen. I can only do these wings on my own eyes. If I had to do it on someone else… erm… it’ll take the whole day!

  • BEAUTIFUL LILY!!! I love this look on you so much – very fresh and brightening! (Am a bit distracted by the thumbnail of your “BLACK” entry on the related posts though. GOOD LORD. THAT IS MAD SKILLZ, dawg. I wish I can pull it off! Wait, checking that entry out after this!) Also, am I late to the new layout parade? I LOVE IT! Makes me want to go through each of your posts one by one. πŸ˜‰

    • Lily

Thank you Shari, and I’m so glad you like the new layout. I like that on the homepage, you see all thumbnails lined up nicely, with that huge sliding image thingy (whatever you call it). I’m loving this layout myself!

  • ElleSees.blogspot.com

fabulous!! i love the blush. it’s gorgeous. i need to shop my stash!

    • Lily

Thank you. I think we need to shop our stash regularly πŸ™‚

  • Beautiful! I wish I could learn to apply black liner like that…

    • Lily

Lots of practice I guess. Hahaha

      • You’re probably right. I do “natural” lining everyday, but try to do a flick once every 6 months only. Then I freak out for the next 6 months and do it badly again, lol.

        • Lily

LOL I know what you mean. I was using pencils so often that I forgot how to use liquid. Now that I’m using it more frequently, it’s becoming easier πŸ™‚
