All About The Eyes with Clinique

There are 4 items I need to show you and I’m nuts about 2 of them. Like, I LOVE IT nuts. So, I want to tell you about them first.

Just Browsing Brush-On Styling Mousse (RM65) 24-hour long-wearing brow mousse is my absolute favourite. It tints, tames, fills in even my sparse brows. I never thought a “brow-scara” can do that. The mini applicator brushes on the water resistant styling mousse which resists smudging, sweat and humidity. I’ve been wearing this when I’m out during the day, and trust me when I say it’s been ridiculously hot and humid here (about 35C with humidity level of about 80%). Once I step out of the house without any air conditioning, I’m already sweating as if I’m leaking everywhere. However, my brows stayed on until I had to remove it. It was awesome, man! This brow mousse actually thickens my brow hair and fills in sparse areas like a boss. There are 4 shades to choose from: Soft brown, Deep brown, Soft blonde, Black brown – and mine is deep brown. Removing is easy too. Any oil based / bi phased removers will do. I tried using micellar water, and it was more difficult to remove.

Clinique all about the eyes

The second thing I love out of these 4 is the Clinique Chubby Lash Fattening Mascara (RM66). When I first saw it, I didn’t think it would work because the brush is so big! It looks like some sort of torturing device, but when I looked at it more, it just looked like some hair curling tool. The bristles are short and firm, and they actually grab every one of my puny lashes with ease. The oversized brush ACTUALLY worked on my lashes, and it worked amazingly! One coat is enough to volumise my lashes, and it’s a feat to shout about…for me and my pathetic lashes anyway. It didn’t weigh down my lashes either. Well done Clinique. For the price that’s only slightly higher than drugstore mascaras, I’ll definitely get this.

the brushes

Then, onto the 2 liners that I want to share with you. One is a liquid pen liner, and the other is the tiniest pencil liner. The Clinique Pretty Easy Liquid Eyelining Pen (RM85), has a soft brush that is very fine at the tip. It can create the finest of lines, and the sharpest of flicks. However, if you’re a newbie, then this brush might be a little soft for you. Felt tips are best because they give you absolute control, but you won’t have the fine and sharp point this pen gives you. It didn’t smudge or transfer on my lids, even without a primer, but most liners don’t. It removes easily with micellar water.

The new Clinique Skinny Sticks (RM72) are ultra-fine, no sharpener required eyeliners. Please note that they DO NOT RETRACT. All I do is just to twist out the required amount, maybe 2mm, line my eyes and that’s it. The pencil is so small that I can easily tightline with the most precise line. That’s because these skinny sticks are only 2/3 the diameter of traditional pencils. There are a few shades to choose from – Slimming Black, Black Silver, Slim Sable, Olive-tini, Skinny Jeans and Demi-Grape – and mine is black silver.

swatches

Here, let me show you how I use these 4 eye products for a more defined eye. But first, just look at the first picture of my brows, and the second with the browscara on. Did I mention I love it? Then you’ll notice I added mascara after brows. That’s only 1 coat, and you can already tell the difference, can’t you? Then, I added the liquid liner on my upper lash line, and the skinny stick on my lower lash line. The last picture you see is me using the liquid liner to thicken the line and added some on the lower lash line.

eyes transformation

In short, the brow mousse is the WOW factor for me, followed by the over-sized mascara which I didn’t think would work. The liners worked well, but other liners work just as well. There you go. If you’re looking for something for your brows, I highly recommend this Just Browsing Brush-On Styling Mousse. For mascara, if you want something affordable that does its job, this Chubby Lash Fattening Mascara is great at volumizing. Photos don’t lie. No photoshop whatsoever on photos above. No foundation, no concealer, just bare face and the 4 eye products.

Which one caught your attention?

  • The brow mascara! I never tried one. I’ve been using a drawing pencil for decades (not lying, same pencil since 2002) but recently tried Lancome Le sourcils tint which was a red bummer on my brows that on a lucky day they look purple. ;-/
I’d still pass on the mascara, though. Brushes like that never work for me for some reason. And oh, LMAO at “some torturing device”. Yeah, totally. ;D

    • Lily

Oh you have to try this browscara. It gives the brows some lovely texture!

  • Hey Lily, I really like the liquid liner, but the pencil doesn’t work for me at all! I don’t think I can be friends with that mascara, but I’d love to give the brow mousse a go! I’m not so sure we’re getting it here tho. I’ve never received a press release. Might have to look into it!

    • Lily

I never thought the mascara would work either and you have to try the brow mousse!

  • I’m a liquid liner junkie, lol, so I was looking at this when I saw it pop up on Sephora. But otherwise, I have to have fiber mascaras, and I think the L’Oreal brow thing is cheaper than Clinique here. It seems pretty similar!

    • Lily

We don’t get the Loreal brow thing here which totally sucks.

  • Alison

An indelible brow mousse in a cool neutral brown? Oh, yes, I will try this. Thanks– great pics!

    • Lily

You’re welcome. Hope it’ll work on you too 🙂

  • Wow I’m impressed by the brow mousse too! I definitely need help in the brow area so will check that out, thanks for sharing!

    • Lily

No problem! Hope you’ll like it

  • Bella

I really love the total effect, wow!!! Thanks for posting the tutorial. I am currently in a commited relationship with Bobbi Brown Natural Brow Definer (a brow mascara) in Saddle, though LOL! I shall definitely check out the mascara and the brow gel when I run out.

    • Lily

Oh I haven’t tried any browscara from Bobbi Brown before. Lol at committed relationship though.

  • Liz

Some day when I’m done with alllllll the things, I’ll try the two that you actually like! Lately I can’t stomach the price of mid to luxe brands. Clinique’s amping things up but not charging an arm and a leg.

    • Lily

Hahaha yup we got all ze fings we need to use up. And you’re right about Clinique’s more affordable price and product quality. They just don’t look as fancy, that’s all.

  • I love the brow mousse too! It’s freakin awesome. I’ve already bought a second one!

    • Lily

It’s really good isn’t it? Glad you like it too!

  • Brow-scara!!! I need that!!!

    • Lily

It’s now my daily staple. Need to get back ups!

  • I need to try that eyebrow mousse! I have never used one before, I always use a pencil or a brow powder. And I also wish that mascara came in a waterproof version.

    • Lily

I’ve been using that browscara every day. I think it’s the best ever! Great for lazy days which is like every day. Hahaha

  • Jaa

Browscara – hehe this is new! Definitely going to check it out ASAP. The eyeliner may not sound too exciting for you but it’s actually the most interesting piece for me since I’m crazy obsessed with black liquid liners at the moment! I just bought 3 new ones to try this weekend. LOL.

    • Lily

Haha I know what you mean though. I have 4 black liquid liners now. .. but I try not to accumulate them because they dry out.
