Stash Shopping #55: Lunasol

Sooooo I was supposed to publish this yesterday but didn’t have the chance to edit the photos. I took the photos before I went out each time, so these were what I’d wear day to day. I created 2 looks here, basically using the same shadow placement, but one with liquid liner, and another with a smudged out olive pencil liner. Here are the products used.

I included the eye palette in my blog sale but nobody picked it up. So, I gave it another chance and started using it again. These Lunasol eye shadows are actually really good. They are shimmery, but in a subtle way, and the colors, even though beige, are quite unique. The cream blush is also a sheer nude pink and the lipstick (another one that’s not picked up in the blog sale) is a nude beige that doesn’t wash me out. I’ve decided to just keep these for now.

For the eye shadow, I use the mid toned beiges on my lids, and the darker olive beige on the outer corner of my eyes. Here, you see me using a liquid liner for a cleaner look. For another look, I just used pencil liner to smudge on both my upper and lower lash lines, and used the shimmery olive in the eye palette to smudge it out further.

Here are the looks in context.

For this second look though, I didn’t use the Lunasol lipstick. I used Tom Ford Frivolous which is a very flattering mauve pink on me. It’s a sample given by a friend, and I’m contemplating getting the full sized version. So pricey though.

There you have it. A short post, but hope you liked it. To all Malaysians, Happy Merdeka and here’s to new beginnings, after the weekend rally, and for a cleaner, more transparent future.

ps: Yes, cut my hair. It’s really short now šŸ™‚

xoxo Lily

  • Both looks are lovely Lily! On myself lately I only smudge pencil liner (too lazy to hold my breath to try and make a neat line with liquid liner), but I looove how the liquid liner one looks on you, so clean and adorable. Selamat Hari Merdeka!

    • Lily

Thank you Sofia! I think smudgy pencil liner looks are awesome. There’s this messy finish that makes it look undone and sexy šŸ™‚

      • And rock n’roll!

  • Both look natural and pretty! Love the soft khaki hues with pink lips. I don’t wear khaki or olive that often but that’s how I would wear it, too.
I was bitten by a Lunasol bug this weekend and even ordered one from Rakuten but cancelled it because of the ridiculous shipping. I am more attracted to Lunasol than Suqqu for example. I might still get it later! šŸ™‚

If you need help getting Lunasol, Lena, I can help you. Now that our currency has weakened so horribly, it’ll be even better for you.

  • I love both! I think the placement of the darker shades makes it really exquisite – I love these kinds of looks!

    • Lily

Thanks Larie. I prefer the darker one myself but then again, I love all degrees of smoky eyes. Heh

  • I am definitely considering to fly to where you are to see how you blend these eye looks. It is so stunning and I think it would be worth the time and money spent for the travel šŸ™‚

    • Lily

Lol thank you Sara! If you can stand the heat and humidity here, I think you’ll love visiting Malaysia. Despite all the stupid headlines our so called leaders make, the country is beautiful and we have some interesting foods as well šŸ™‚ Oh and also we’ll talk makeup. Lol

  • Liz

I know you were trying to be good and purging but I’m actually so happy you got to keep it, lol. They belong with you! The looks are beautiful!

    • Lily

I’m motivated to purge, that’s for sure! Your lipstick survivor pay inspired me further. I don’t know if I’ll be able to do it though. ..

  • Oh Frivolous is GORGEOUS on you!!! Yes yes you need this Lily…. get it! And I think I have the same Lunasol palette… or something very similar to it. Never touched the damned thing, but seeing your gorgeous eye look, I’m going to dig it up right now!

    • Lily

      I love Frivolous! Like I said, it’s a pink I don’t have. That price tag tho o_O
