Review: Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Colors Posh Pink and Your Majesty

Bobbi Brown just released a new line of lipsticks recently. Luxe Lip Colors (RM107) deliver a comfortable, ultra luxurious feel to the lips while delivering bold colors to the lips in just one swipe. Luxe Lips help reduce the appearance of fine lip lines and the moisture boosting ingredients prevent lips from flaking. The new line also boasts new packaging, a decadent gold with a majestic looking “B” logo on the cap.

I was sent 2 shades to try – Posh Pink and Your Majesty. Both are on the very opposite ends of the spectrum. Posh Pink is what I’d describe as Kpop pink (or Barbie pink?) and Your Majesty is a dark burgundy with a hint of brown.

I find these lipsticks to be creamy and comfortable on the lips. They are not particularly hydrating, but they are not drying either. Your Majesty is not an easy color to pull off, as darker colors tend to emphasize lines on the lips. Thanks to the ingredients (I assume), and the richness of this formula, the vampy shade did not make my lips look old and mean. It can be worn as a stain, if you’re shy to wear it to its full opacity but I’d advise you to apply a lip balm prior. When applied sparingly, as a stain, the formula is a little drying. How weird, isn’t it? Here is how Your Majesty looks on me.

Posh Pink is a pink I’d never pick for myself. It’s a milky shade that I think clashes with my skin tone. I need to find a blush that’s just as cool toned, and unfortunately, I don’t have that in my stash. Fingers crossed this doesn’t make me look off. This is a pink I usually see sported by those Kpop girls, dancing to bouncy catchy tunes, shaking their boom boom. Such a stereotypical statement, but don’t shoot. There is some truth in those words!

So what happens when one is too dark for every day (but if you know me, I love love love vampy shades like that) and one is too clashy? Create your own! These 2 shades, when mixed together, give you lots of variety. Here is an in between that I quite like. What shall I name it? Posh Majesty? Looks a little mauve, a little rosy, doesn’t it? I LIKE it!

My friend Lena has another red to show you and I think it looks super posh on her. Have you tried any of these new offerings yet? There are 30 shades to choose from so I’m sure there’ll be at least one that catches your eye.

  • K-Pop Pink hahaha I love it Lily hahaha so true! The two shades mixed together is AWESOME though! I’d wear that shade for sure! It’s so pretty on you!

    • Lily

Thanks Tracy. And yes, I’m glad you agree. . . This is a K-pop pink isn’t it? Of course, I say it in the nicest way. I think they rock their makeup looks!

“shaking their boom boom”? Hahaha! That’s hilarious. And I agree with TracyBeautyReflections – the mixed shade does look awesome on you!

    • Lily

Yes shaking their boom boom 😀
I love the mixed shade too, and all the in betweens!

  • Bella

I love the vamp and the mixed shade on you!!

    • Lily

Thank you Bella! I love vamp lips.

  • I can see posh pink will NOT work well o me either. Hey the trick of mixing them looks great!

    • Lily

Mixing them to get your personal shade. I think this shade I mixed looks great too. Teehee!

  • Jane

The mix suits you really really well! I don’t know how easy is it to reapply them later. This always stops me from starting to mix lipsticks. I would probably warm them up and mix in a pot, but it is so much work when you have hundreds of lipsticks already.

    • Lily

Hey Jane, I tried a few in between versions and they all look great! So I’m not too particular about getting the same shade 🙂

  • Shaking their boom boom, hahahahaha, Lily! You’re so awesome. I think the pink actually looks great on you, though! Very sort of fresh and modern.

    • Lily

Well ahem, if you put it that way, I guess this pink is quite modern. … .. but I’m still not used to it. Very clashy 🙂

  • I really liked the layered version best. I have to try one of these lipped soon. Swatched them at the counter and liked how they felt.

    • Lily

Thanks Sara. They do feel good and the gold tubes are definitely luxe!
