Review: Linden Leaves Moisture Replenishing Mask and Porcelain Brightening Serum

Linden Leaves was founded by Brigit Blair in 1995 in Christchurch, New Zealand to help care for two of her children who suffered severe eczema and allergies. It is an all natural brand which started from the home kitchen and now, is available around the world. In Malaysia, you can find it at TNS Skinlab, and I had the opportunity to try out 2 of its products – a brightening serum and a hydrating mask.

Porcelain Brightening Serum With Organic White Tea and Wild Daisy Flower Extract – 30ml RM169

Just so you know, I would have preferred a shorter name. A brightening serum, as usual, is formulated with ingredients to brighten the skin and help dark spots / pigmentation fade over time. Skin will appear smoother and more radiant. In this serum, mulberry and licorice extracts lighten and brighten while sweet almond oil combats signs of aging. Organic white tea is used to protect and aid skin regeneration and wild daisy flower extracts even out skin tones and lighten dark pigmentation.

I am no stranger to brightening serums and I find this to have an interesting texture. Instead of a thicker liquid texture of a typical serum, this feels like a moisturizer. I find that it does make my skin greasy, so I avoid using it in the day. I have normal skin, so if you have oilier skin, you might find this heavy.

I have however, found the best way to use this serum. I found this tip on the TNS website. Mix 2 squirts of this serum with the Moisture Replenishing Masque and apply as you would a mask. I like to leave it on for about half an hour, wash it off, and skin looks instantly brighter! Now, I save this serum for this use. I love it!

Moisture Replenishing Masque With Organic White Tea and Chamomile – 55ml RM89

We should know by now that chamomile soothes the skin and white tea is known for its anti oxidant properties. This mask is said to be the ultimate skin drink. My skin does feel softer after use but I sometimes wonder if I use enough of it. This mask sinks in immediately into the skin, leaving nothing to wash off! I leave it on for 10-15 minutes, and there is no residue for me to wash off! When I mix this mask with the serum mentioned above, the same thing happens. The mask just penetrates the skin 100%, leaving little to nothing to wash off. I guess there’s nothing wrong, but I’m just used to wash off masks that you know, has things to wash off. LOL!

I like that it can also be used on the eyes. I tried putting some on damp cotton pads then used them to cover my eyes for 10 minutes. Aahhh…. so relaxing – and anything that can hydrate my eyes gets extra points 🙂

If I had to choose just one, I’d get the mask. I might be biased because I really love it on my eyes. Hahaha! These are more affordable products, and if you’re into green beauty, you might really like these. Are you from New Zealand? Have you heard of Linden Leaves?

You’re always the first to comment, Tracy. So awesome! This is definitely a soothing combo as a mask. Unexpected but good 🙂

Hmm what a great idea to put some on the cotton pads and put them over your eyes! I’m going to try that trick! I haven’t heard of this brand before but I’ll keep an eye out! 🙂

It’s fairly new here too! Making it an eye mask is definitely the best thing ever 🙂
