Sunday Stash Shopping #64: Some New Diorshow Stuff

I was going to do something elaborate, but I really didn’t feel up to it. This has been my go to makeup look, simple and quick, so I’ll just show it to you. I’ve been using Front Row a lot, because it’s a very easy shade to just slap on and go. I then line my eyes with this dark burgundy shade (Dior Pro Liner in Mahogany) and apply a layer of mascara on top of a lash primer. I’ve been using the Dior Lash Maximizer, and they just introduced a new one, called the 3D Lash Maximzer! Honestly though, I couldn’t tell the difference. Both work great in thickening and lengthening my lashes, so thumbs up. I filled in my brows using Dior’s brow palette. There are 2 powder shades, one darker than the other, and a wax to keep unruly brows in place. The lighter shade is more ashy while the dark brown shade has a tinge of red. I mix both shades to fill in my brows, because I like it as ashy as possible. I’m not sure if I’d pay RM290 for the brow palette, but you know, to each her own. The powder is the size of 2 single eye shadows AND they can of course double as lid colors. I still prefer my pencils because I’m used to it, and I find it much faster.

I skipped blush and used just a bronzer (Dior Aurora), and on my lips is Rouge Dior Nude in 169 Grege. It’s a perfect nude lip for me, because it doesn’t wash me out and there is a little shine in the texture that makes lips look more plump. Don’t want dead matte Sahara dry nude zombie lips. Might be your thing, I dunno. LOL!

I find that my eyes are getting more hooded as I age. Darn it. Good news is, I can go crazy with my eye shadow and no one can tell. Bad news is, well, everything else. Hahaha. I hope you guys have a great Sunday! I realized I forgot to take a photo of the products used, to show you the new-ish stuff from Diorshow collection. *run off to take photo immediately* And this is the time when I wish I had a lightbox already set up. Urgh. Guess I’ll have to edit the brightness of this photo. So dark.

Ah, here it is.

  • Lol, those brow tools in the little Dior brow kit are SO tiny. They kind of make me giggle. You’re looking so fresh, Lily! Also, lol, I hope dry desert lips aren’t anyone’s thing 😛

    • Lily

Thanks Larie. LOL! I sometimes see some photos of girls wearing matte lipsticks, saying how good they are, but I only see all those lip lines. ROFL!

  • Really pretty Lily! Love how simple the look is. I only do simple looks too lately. And yeah, my eyes are getting more hooded as I age too, especially one. If I had the money I’d get an eyelid lift haha!

    • Lily

Thanks Tracy. My mother in law got an eyelid lift. Her eyes were swollen for a good 7 days, but after that she did look more ‘awake’, that’s for sure.

  • I love how it looks on you Lily, so simple yet mysterious at the same time. Aagghhh I’ve been feeling older over this weekend, dont get me started 😉
By the way, you porbably already know this trick, but when you photograph on white surface dont worry about lightboxes etc, put the exposure of the camera on a setting of about 1.7 for example, and it will all be brighter and whiter!

    • Lily

Thanks Sofia. I tried this trick before, and then I forgot to put the setting back to normal. Then the next time I used the camera, I was scratching my head thinking what happened to the exposure. HAHAHAHA! My memory hasn’t been the best since I had my 3rd child. Do they suck out my brain juices other than all the calcium in my body? LOL!

  • I paused for a very long time at MYR290 for a brow palette…not.in.this.lifetime. And I have pathetic brows! Haha! Love the lipstick shade on you, Lily, probably a touch too pale on me but it’s the perfect nude for you.

Yeah, things are getting quite expensive nowadays, especially with our weakening currency. Everything got so expensive but wages remain the same. People are getting angry 🙁

      • Unfortunately I noticed that about Malaysia when we were there during CNY and both my husband and I agreed that we were lucky to leave in 2014. It’s crazy how the prices went up within a year plus that we left, I would have struggled with my previous pay cheque. 🙁

  • I like the lip color on you. As for the eyelids, it doesn’t bother me at all, you still look very fresh-faced and awake to me, none of that tired ‘n worn out sh*t going on or anything!

    • Lily

Hahaha thanks Melissa. LOL at worn out shit. HAHAHAHAHA!!! Love it!!
