Bobbi Brown Skin Nourishing Glow Foundation (RM205) has been available in stores since January 2016. The foundation is designed for dry to normal skin types and I love that they didn’t stick with the packaging design of the Intensive Skin Serum Foundation. While I really liked that foundation, the dropper just didn’t work. This comes in a new easy-to-use airless pump that allows ingredients to stay fresh, maximizing the formula’s performance.
The foundation is lightweight, and feels like a light mousse. It’s actually a hybrid cream foundation that is richly emollient but it doesn’t feel heavy at all. It has potent moisture-reviving extract and collagen-enhancing ferment in the ingredients to sooth and comfort drier skin. Bobbi says that this foundation keeps your skin comfortable even during winter, but I live in a tropical country, so is it WAY too heavy for us?
The answer is no. I actually really like this foundation! I was surprised because I expected it to be really heavy, but the texture is, dare I say, lighter than the Intensive Skin Serum Foundation. It does not make my skin oily, but it provides a beautiful glow my skin needs. My skin is usually normal, but after 2 weeks of viral fever and cough, it got really dry and lifeless. I tested this foundation during those dry times, and it’s been lovely. My skin is instantly brought back to life, and dry patches just disappeared. Now that I’m feeling better, and my skin is less dry, more normal, I’m still loving it! I just add some powder on my T-zone as a finishing touch and I’m good to go.
I’m not sure about collagen-enhancing ferment, whether or not my skin is lifted, but I can tell you that this foundation provides radiance and moisture immediately! I can’t tell you enough how luminous this foundation looked on my skin. I wonder if the before after photos do any justice!
As you can see in the larger photo above (to show you my problem areas), while my pores are still visible, my skin does not look oily, and you can hardly tell there are any dry patches on my skin. My cheeks look so smooth and flawless, I’m in love. Redness is completely gone, and the 2 little bumps – thanks hormones – on my left cheek (your right) look less visible. One thing you can’t tell in the photos is that I was sent the wrong shade.
The shade (Beige) is about 2 tones darker than my skin (I usually take either Warm Ivory or Sand), so I have to mix it with something else to lighten the shade. I tried it with Bobbi Brown CC Cream in Pale Nude and the Intensive Skin Serum Foundation in Warm Porcelain, both of which are lighter than my skin, and the best result came from mixing with the foundation. Perhaps it’s the similar tone and texture, but I absolutely love it. In the swatch below, you can tell how much darker Beige is against my skin. I mixed it with both Pale Nude and Warm Porcelain to show you my experiment.
When I mix this with the Intensive Skin Serum Foundation, the glowy finish is maintained. Even my mom asked me what I was using on my skin and when I showed her this Skin Nourishing Foundation, she tried it on immediately. Beige suits her skin perfectly. Needless to say, it’s now in her daily makeup routine, and she is absolutely loving it too! My mom is already 61 years old and she has dry skin, but she hates heavier foundations which she claims make her face sweat. LOL. I’m really sad I lost this foundation to her because I really love it.
Do you think it’s a good excuse to get another bottle in my shade? But I still have so many other foundations…. URGH! Have you tried this? If you have drier skin, this is heavenly and you must try it!! Have you? There are 9 shades available, so you might want to go try it out. It provides a good medium coverage, just enough for me to be able to skip concealer. I didn’t notice it when I had it on, but on my mom, I could tell that her skin looks so much smoother.
In short, a glowing review for this glowy foundation for dry to normal skin.
